Cincinnati: Downtown: Mercantile & Traction Buildings / Kimpton Hotel
This is great news on a couple fronts. First projects i am working on can move up on the list to receive tax credits. Second, the traction building needs a lot of love with such an exposed site to the city. These tax credits will finally get the project going for the owner. ... Finally, developers land $4.2 million tax credit for downtown Cincinnati Kimpton Hotel The developers looking to bring the region’s first Kimpton Hotel to downtown Cincinnati finally received Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits to help with the project. Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
It was under Federated/Macys ownership, since they sold off the one garage, I wonder if they would sell this one as well. Fun fact it use to have federated office space in the building as well.

Of the 14 stores in the region they are closing, 8 of them will become Harris Teeters. So they really are only closing six stores with the Kroger nameplate.

Shame Cincinnati Public Radio cant work away into the North Building of the Cincinnati Public Library. Even if a small addition to be added. It just seems to me that Public Radio and the Library would go together well.

There is a Tide Dry Cleaners drop off on Sixth Street. I have used it a couple times and I am not a P&G employee. I know most my neighbors just have Widmers pick up and drop off their dry cleaning, since its a free service.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
This project is dead unfortunately. Gregory family ended up wanting too much in the end and Skyhouse has walked away from the site. Yesterday a new commercial real estate signage went up for the property.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Comedy club would go great and perfect space for it would be the backside of phase one by the event lawn. That space has never been built out or leased but would be big enough to accomodate event space and kitchen.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I have heard this from two viable sources now. Mike Brown is using this to prevent CSO from doing the development. The organization wants PromoWest, because they can do pre-NFL events at the space. The tailgating excuse is just easy to use to get what developer they want in the deal. If this is true, I actually applauded the crude Mike Brown for going around ole blue blood Castellini and trying to get the outside group to build the venue.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I actually like this proposal. Looks like the townhouses after a modern contemporary exterior. The west apartment building has a nice proportional look, and the step down with the south building is a nice touch. Looks like the team put some real thought into the project. My questions will be how badly will the urban design review board get involved, and will anyone else submit prior to the June Meeting?

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
Thinking about the site, with the awful convention place development. Correct me if I am wrong but didnt Chinedum Ndukwe buy this building for future development? I mean with the parking lot and the prime corner spot of Fifth and Elm there could really be a great convention center hotel built, with another 3CDC apartment tower.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
No the city/3CDC/Port Authority just build a new hotel, the owners of the Millennium will lose status as convention hotel and take the skywalk down that connects the two, they have had years to upgrade and choose not to do so. Time to cut them off.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
There has been conversations for a couple months with hotel operators, and working on securing a brand flag locally. When you look at the grand scheme of things downtown you think what major hotel brands don't exist downtown that could work as a convention hotel... Loews Hotel Intercontinental - IHG has very little presence in Cincinnati, only the two Holiday Inns in the basin. Sheraton - Seems like a stretch with the Westin, Renaissance both downtown and now being the same Marriott corporate brands JW Marriott - Same as above Omni Hotels - Just built a massive property in Louisville

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
I feel bad for you all that Hudson Holdings stalled so long on the Huntington Building. They purchased properties all over the place and then did nothing with any of them. Big plans for hotels, executive apartments etc. They own one building in Cincinnati, the mercantile building. I know of two in Louisville, St.Louis, and a couple other midwestern cities.

Cincinnati's Homeless Population
Well they started to remove the concrete benches and an advocacy group flipped out and created a nightmare and the city backed away from the homeless. Honestly the stretch where they put the smaller metal benches looks alot better than the area of long concrete benches they use to camp out around and on.

Cincinnati's Homeless Population
It has progressively gotten worse the past couple months. But alot of people didnt realize that most of these folks were living in the Dunnhumby loading dock area of their old building prior to demolition. After the Bengals season wrapped up these folks took over the plum street tunnel. I know this past week for the first time in a long time co-workers cars were being broken into in the middle of the day in the monthly lot next door.

Cincinnati Brewery / Beer / Alcohol News
I miss the old recipe they used for the first few batches of OTR Ale. Not as big a fan of the newer stuff with the new recipe :(. I been told by a couple people that the original hops they used, they can no longer get ahold of which is the change in the recipe. Shame, but i know the hop market is very competitive with so many breweries popping up all over.

Cincinnati: West End: TQL Stadium
Well lets put it bluntly though, if FC doesnt receive an MLS bid, there will be a major change in ownership. I have heard from numerous folks involved with the organization that if the team cant garner a professional league status the Lindner and Farmer families are selling their shares, which is the majority of the team. Will the team remain, yes quiet possibly but would probably struggle without the financial clout behind them to make the necessary changes year to year fans would prefer to see. This point and time they need to go the route of least resistance, get their bid into MLS and hope for the best. Sacramento is getting its ducks in a row quicker than this merry go round of site selection...
