Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Just down in Cincinnati living vicariously through you all in Cleveland watching this tower grow. Meanwhile we will get a "squatty body" convention hotel instead of something with actual height. Thanks for all the great photos and height progress diagrams.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
Kissimmee is converting old unwanted motel and hotels into affordable apartment housing for hospitality and mouse land employees etc.

Yep, if you put arbitrary colored orbs in an urban plaza people just wet themselves in excitement.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Walked through the Black Music Hall of Fame. It's overall a nice addition to the banks. I just hope they can properly maintain all the cool interactive features. Each stand plays music from the artist inducted, there is interactive dance stations and an interactive Penny Ford Music video area.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
"toned down" aka we have value engineered the hell out of this, we are going to paint the existing 80's granite facade so it remains boxy and call it refreshed 😉

Newport, KY: Ovation
I have been told by multiple sources, they might build out the other one starting next spring, but to not expect anything right away.

Newport, KY: Ovation
Since Corporex and Bill Butler are self financing the project, no surprise. I am sure they will wait until enough units are pre-sold before they build the third building.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Carew Tower
Before Covid our firm was brought into do an assessment/preliminary designs of the observation deck. I had no idea that so many had jumped off. Asked how come they werent reported in the news, they didnt want to entice copy cats. Everything you said is bascially an issue. The small elevator technically isnt ADA capable, and then there is the staircase up to the gift shop area and then more stairs onto the observation deck. In order for it to get credits or subsidies it needs to be made accessible. Which meant a new elevator shaft would need to penetrate upward through the roof and meet deck level and basically build a new structure around it to protect the opening from the elements. New roof and deck needed to be replaced, and a much higher barrier placed around the perimeter. For the small area it was a big price tag, considering you couldnt run a business like bar or restaurant up there and the gift shop/entry fees would barely meet the maintenance and upkeep cost. I hate to be the debbie downer but all signs point to it eventually becoming an amenity deck for the future residents of carew tower and not open to public.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
If they treat it like a flagship and not another brand to expand out to a number of outlying markets it should be successful

Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
The purple mass intrigues me, I wouldnt mind a taller structure on or near TQL. Could as a beacon or landmark to find the soccer stadium from afar. I am sure the NIMBY - OTR Foundation crowd will try and force it to three stories.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati
Personally I hated it being on 2nd and 3rd Street just because of the concrete valley of heat and sun all day long. But it was nice and wide to enjoy walking around and avoiding the beer lines meeting in the middle of the road. Maybe if we ever get caps on Fort Washington Way it could move back to 2nd and 3rd street. You mentioned bengals game which i hadnt looked up yet. Reds are out of town and no major concerts so that must be a big reason is Bengals game.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
I think Cincinnati's days of taller structures are a thing of the past. Hell I had hope for the convention center hotel, and yet we get another "squatty body" building as i like to call them.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
I remember this rendering floating around a number of years ago. Reminds me of a modern 580 building. short, squatty with a 50/50 set back

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
They are waiting for the Recession to hit. They will wait til material prices fall, labor is more abundant. Contractors and suppliers need work then they will break ground. That's how they typically operate.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
I am holding out hope with Crawford Hoying being involved in the banks now. My only concern if they are stretching themselves too thin. They do good work and could be a great asset to the banks. Any of the quality buildings they developed at the Bridge Park development would look leaps and bounds better than most of the crap at the Banks now.

Practice facility maybe, but not the new football stadium. Terrible idea. On many levels.
