  1. Its a nice addition, shame its only seasonal. I wonder how many other routes AA will bring to CVG or thinking of bringing? Nashville would be a nice addition. It looks and feels like similar service for CMH with maybe a couple of additional cities. AA doesnt publicly announce focus cities like Delta or UA. I can only assume with two intl one world alliance flights and the new non hub city service (BOS, AUS, RDU) that we have to be hitting focus city status soon.
  2. Oh boy I cant wait to spend half a million to close to a million for my house to be directly next to the new Brent Spence Expansion bridge and interstate lanes.
  3. Did Continental or United ever use a widebody on the transatlantic route(s) out of CLE? It is nice to have the DL 764 for CDG and the BA 788 or 772 to LHR
  4. O Block gives me a feeling a limited service dual brand hotel property on that site.
  5. Landed this afternoon, and saw this today. 5 more days til the launch of LHR via British Airways
  6. Brussels was flown by Sabena out of CVG for years with DL partnership. That list is incorrect because Zurich and Munich were seasonal in the summer up until 2005. Heck Venice isnt even on this list and that used to be a seasonal route in summer out of CVG until 2005
  7. Of course it does, Corporex designed and is building it out. Don't expect beauty from Bill Butler... Shame we are wasting a prime piece of real estate for this ugly wanna be twin of the Ascent next door.
  8. I have no idea what a.net is so nope.
  9. Some interesting updates at CVG as of Tuesday. Earl of Sandwich is replacing the McDonalds in Concourse B. Looks like Wendy's isn't happening anymore. Skyline conversion wont happen until Earl of Sandwich opens so the food court doesnt lose food operators for traveling public. Natalie's candy move into the relax spa space. Duty Free is reopening with a new operator. They have finally closed up Max and Ermas They are remodeling and reopening the gift shop down by the end of the lower B gates as well.
  10. The view along Jefferson looks a lot like the new CVG airport terminal addition. Maybe its just me, but once the renderings were released its what came to mind first.
  11. Bill Butler is just hiding his "doctored up" accounting books, figures by the time they open it he will be dead and cant go to prison like the Erpenbecks.
  12. He owns the Tennis complex is in Charleston, SC where the women's tournament (Credit One Charleston Cup) is located. The Charlotte thing is completely new, but he must think the State of NC and Charlotte Business community can pony up more than Charleston.
  13. Not surprised, the history of the tournament doesnt matter anymore. Everyone knew as soon as this tournament was purchased the grand plan was to relocate it further south. Benjamin Navarro wouldnt have bought the tourney to keep it in Cincinnati, he wants to bring it closer to his empire. The state of NC and the Charlotte business community will find the 130 million dollars for an event like the Western Southern. It was great while it lasted, have to wonder why Barrett was trying to make a pitch about moving the tennis tournament closer to the city. He knew what was being planned as well.
  14. Yeah Endeavor, Delta subsidiary has a crew base at CVG. They are struggling so DL hasnt brought back DFW, ORD, and IAH. Those are the three connection flights CVG hasnt gotten back yet and business travelers like me wish they would come back sooner.
  15. The biggest issue is until they have more FAs and pilots CDG will remain at 3x a week since they dont have enough crew to safely operate the flight without bringing staff into Cincinnati from other bases. San Francisco has yet to be brought back and they are struggling for crew to increase mainline flights on pre-existing mainline routes.
  16. Parking lot or better yet another grassy lot with a fence around it and a mural... Convention Place is still all tied up in the courts for time being.
  17. Its well known around the cooler that Ed and the board are not big on legacy Delta people or staff, being legacy NW brass. They have begrudgingly given into the demand of the Cincinnati market but are reluctant to bring back many more flights or cities to the airport. Where the airport stands right now we are at focus city status for Delta again since there are still a number of connections that happen each day for Delta.
  18. Delta reversed the decision and still has a pilot and FA base still at CVG. Talking to my neighbor who is a pilot at CVG and delta is trying to get more FAs to be transferred at CVG because they dont have enough to work the flights in and out of CVG including the Paris route.
  19. CVG still has a large Delta Pilot and FA base and Allegiant has a decent size base too here. Glad to see CLE getting Frontier to step up with UA pulling back as much as they have over the years, even if i am not a Frontier fan its good all around for the region.
  20. The new building brick is beautiful totally against them painting the building.
  21. It can be a combination of things, they hire new FAs and pilots to be based/living out of CLE. They can transfer individuals which they can commute into the airport on another airline or on a frontier flight but that seems more difficult to achieve with the lack of daily flight schedule from Frontier. Those individuals can request a transfer themselves and move on their own dime as well.
  22. Couple of odd design decisions I am noticing right off the bat. First, the pool deck being on the east side of the building. So basically after about noon - 1pm it will be completely shadowed by the building and wont have sun on the deck. Two, the elevator cores are on the city facing side. So you lose up to 8-10 rooms per floor having a nicer city view room, instead of rooms with 75-queensgate view rooms. Third, they talked about views from the ballroom and meeting rooms. Well based on the height of the grand ballroom and the Whex garage doesnt seem like if there were windows on the grand ballroom you wouldnt see anything beyond the parking garage wall. Seems odd to me that the orientation wasn't worked out better. The tower should have been built closer to Elm instead of Plum to alleviate all those issues.
  23. Louisville made the right decision years ago with the downtown convention center. The main floor is technically on the second level so that it could span over city streets without interrupting the street grid. Honestly wish we could do it here, span over Elm, and reintroduce Plum street back cutting under the main floor of the convention hall.
  24. Even the treadmill knew it was a lipstick job.
