  1. We need a "bomb dropper" from KJP on this one. I feel it coming.
  2. I've never seen this - a Cleveland gem not publicized. I did a google search which took me to the City of Cleveland website. Why is the city of Cleveland website look like it's from the 90's? Another pathetic example of Cleveland leadership. How hard can it be?
  3. Always thought this bridge idea was a total waste. Another brilliant sleepy Frank vision.
  4. I wonder if the decision to convert to residential speaks more to the demand for housing or softness in the office market. Or maybe just because that's K&D's forte. Regardless, a modernization is sorely needed for that building, the garage, and also John Q's. I would love to hear their plans for John Q's
  5. Looks like this is official.. with partial conversion to apartments. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/kd-buys-55-public-square-office-tower-plans-partial-conversion-apartments
  6. This hotel is to be built next to this building - in combination with this building, right? Great place for a hotel - I'm sure the Irishtown Bend project finally seeing life is a big reason why it's finally moving.
  7. I get being conservative, but this is totally 1970s thinking if there's no public interaction. And don't count on our lousy, narrow-minded CLE leadership to push back. Despite the tremendous amount of taxpayer support this is getting. We need to remain hopeful though. Hopefully when they actually lay out their plan, it includes real plans for the remaining lots including substantial investment from them. If they want to keep their HQ tower private, fine - but they better throw us a freaking bone with the Jacobs' lot and remaining parts. And West 6th better be lined with retail and public use. If they truly want to attract the best and brightest, they should care about all that too.
  8. Sherwin should really take a page from Amazon for the Public Square building... only kind of kidding. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/02/amazon-shows-hq2-helix-office-building-images-.html
  9. https://www.uhaul.com/Articles/About/22746/2020-Migration-Trends-U-Haul-Ranks-50-States-By-Migration-Growth/ I'm sure this is talked about in other parts of the forum, but I found it interesting that Ohio is #4 on this list. I love love seeing Cali #50, by the way.
  10. I think it's always been vacant. I believe Rascal Flats were going in there before they went bankrupt.
  11. I really hope, someday soon, we get some new faces in both the county and city government. Sleepy Frank and Budish both gotta go!
  12. I wonder if the other development will be the View on Detroit East? It seems to be the names of all their developments.
  13. These projects have been quiet. Seems like they're alive and well and possibly breaking ground in 2021. https://www.cleveland.com/community/2021/01/lakewood-creating-tif-incentive-for-proposed-mixed-use-detroit-avenue-projects.html
  14. You need a gas station downtown. This remodel is sorely needed there. Wasn't there a GetGo supposed to go in somewhere near downtown?
  15. And Scranton Peninsula and Flats West Bank...
  16. I don't know a whole lot about Old Brooklyn, besides the zoo of course, but it is now high on my radar for my next project. What areas do you see as ready to pop?
  17. https://www.rentcafe.com/blog/apartmentliving/fifty-years-of-adaptive-reuse-in-cleveland-over-5000-converted-apartments/ Take that big cities! The study puts Cleveland in 8th place nationwide for most new apartments created through adaptive reuse projects — 5,356 rental units — and ahead of larger cities like San Francisco, Dallas and Washington, D.C.
  18. Did anyone else notice on the website that Waterford is planning 4 new projects in Cleveland?
  19. Seems that Mavrek and Krueger are run by the same guy - Bobby Krueger. Both outfits appear to put out impressive projects. This is a very exciting vision for that dead space along W25th. This is great.
  20. Isn't there space in 200 PS for Cliffs to expand? Especially if Benesch ever does move. I'd rather see them fill up more floors there.
  21. I'm guessing this is not the whole project bid. It says tenant spaces to be provided as a warm white box. I believe that means just drywalled and electric ready. Might explain the price tag? Every unit's finishes (counters, floor, cabinets, appliances, etc) would be a separate contract.
  22. Was this one ever talked about? I must have missed this very cool looking project. And also paying for new signs and some improvements at nearby homes. Way to go! @misterjoshr https://www.cleveland.com/cityhall/2020/09/cleveland-approves-tax-breaks-topping-100000-a-year-for-new-apartment-building.html
  23. This is good timing, I would imagine, as the airport's new master plan is currently getting worked on. Isn't that right?
  24. Newsworthy, although we knew this was likely the outcome. https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/08/31/tower-city-cinemas-to-close-permanently?fbclid=IwAR2mYa0qOcGOT9cejlWG07GMPxl0zTpeabkBwZji7Yf0wDt_FBnJg2ziAJ8
