Wilmington / Clinton County: Development and News
So good to hear! This is a very unique building. Spent a lot of time in it growing up and got to work on this proposal VERY loosely early on in concept. This is the Masonic Lodge and I’m not sure if the Masons are still planning to use the event space for their meetings or if they would relocate. I’ll dig up some photos I have of the very very cool meeting hall.

I'm happy to see UC investigating this and forming a recommendation. Condolences @mcmicken

The CVS on Race was never replaced. Might be a suitable spot if the Shillito Building gets some ground floor commercial and if the Sung Korean spot is filled. A lot of what ifs, but something needs to catalyze this sleepy spot of downtown.

I can't tell if it was used for parking or was some sort of windowless hellscape. https://goo.gl/maps/QtPZjALGA2rwA8Jz5 I suppose there is a thread about it here under Abandoned Projects:

The Federated Department Stores building just keeps getting slowly better and better. It seems like they’ve been working on this for the past year and a half. In the past few weeks they have started placing storefront mullions in the first floor. Anyone know if this is going commercial at the base? That’s great news and will hopefully awaken the dead zone on Elm between the Convention Center and Garfield Place.

Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
That's great news! This development will be greeted by American Flag Company, a few other maker industrial folks, Sew Valley, and the rock climbing gym inside Foxy Shazam's Church of Rock and Roll. I also wanted to report that they remainder of the Music hall garage whimsical post-modern bridge across central parkway is being demolished.

This is only true if you could get a mid-block street constructed to increase the amount of surface area to street available. On this particular block, I think you could only do it effectively in the east-west direction at the same latitude at Magnolia/Orchard. Without a bisecting street, the mid-block garage makes more sense. In that case, the only thing I don't like about them is that the units don't have back yards or windows in the rear.

Hamilton County Politics
I wonder how many counties in the state have been run by 3 women commissioners at the same time. Is this a first? What is the resource for looking that up?

@ryanlammi where is there a conversation about Issue 22 and it's development? I feel like this community ought to work together to get it passed in March. This is URBAN Ohio after all. If a robust public transit system isn't a collective goal of this forum, I don't know what is.

Some version of a superlative should apply if those two are the only buildings that are taller.

I paid $850/mo to live in 250 SF in a cool neighborhood in Seattle and THAT was cramped. Doing the math to compare, life in Cincinnati is 2/3 as expensive as similar in Seattle.- Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Well deserved for Marian Spencer and the civil rights movement. Happy that the city plans to honor her legacy in this way.- Cincinnati: Downtown: Gwynne Building
I'd say that's a safe bet.- Cincinnati: Downtown: Gwynne Building
This is really one of the most unique historic buildings in Cincinnati what with its proportion, the metalwork, the bull sculptures- Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion

Excited here. I'm thrilled about this event and I look forward to seeing it grow into something even bigger... more side shows, unsolicited events, panels, conferences, etc. I feel like they haven't been playing up the music enough. The Pomegranates are getting back together for Blink!- Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
DAAP will need an annex in the next decade. I imagine this new building would be constructed at the corner of Clifton and MLK creating a DAAP campus that spans Clifton, hopefully accompanying traffic calming at that intersection.- Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Dang... this should definitely happen. Our public spaces need to have stacked functions. There is ample parking already at the Banks and Smale. Creating a green tailgating lawn would be tremendously unique and way better for the environment and public.- Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
Luxury homes proposed along Wasson Way encounter speed bump https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2019/09/17/luxury-homes-proposed-along-wasson-way-encounter.html?iana=hpmvp_cinci_news_headline I read the article and I couldn't find details about the speed bump... This is the most critical comment: "The Hyde Park Neighborhood Council opposes the subdivision, French noted, but the Cincinnati Planning Commission approved the development’s concept on Sept. 6. Meanwhile, the community council for Oakley, which borders Hyde Park at Wasson Road, gave its blessing." Anyone know the details of the HPNC's opposition? This project sounds great, IMO.- Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
I like a signature skyscraper as much as the next guy, but Skyhouse would not have been signature... in fact, it would be an exact copy of Skyhouse's in other cities. Having practically the exact same number of units (344 in artistry vs 352 in skyhouse) closer to the street and park will contribute more positively to vitality on the ground for people. - Cincinnati: Downtown: Court Street Developments and News
