Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
I don't have the GIS chops for this, but could someone produce a map that color codes major arteries for every 10 feet of ROW? 50', 60', ..., 110'? With the provided evidence of just how much ROW would be needed to replace current bus lines with BRT, I think it would make more sense to only put BRT where it fits without compromising existing sidewalk widths.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
Listening to WVXU this morning, they aired a story about the 50% increase in Hispanic residents in Cincinnati. One thing I noted about the story was that the director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Alfonso Cornejo, said that they would like to attract an Hispanic-owned microchip manufacturer to the area following the CHIPS Act. Would love to see that in the Mill Creek Valley. https://www.wvxu.org/local-news/2022-08-15/population-buying-power-cincinnati-hispanics-uc-study

Cincinnati: Complete Streets, Road Diets, and Traffic Calming
I've heard the same thing. There must be a compromise. You think you live in a big enough city until the last two hit and runs in your neighborhood are people you see almost every day.

Cincinnati: Complete Streets, Road Diets, and Traffic Calming
Following two of my neighbors (see them every day walking my dog. The adult daughter just pet my dog last week) being struck last night in a hit and run at Hamilton and Pullan, Mark Jeffreys is calling to repeal the ban on speed/traffic cameras. On Hamilton Avenue, impatient drivers are commonly seen passing on the right and speeding after the light at Chase and Pullan. It looks like the ball is in the Northside Community Council's court to decide on the project area for several blocks of Hamilton Avenue. In my opinion every intersection from Spring Grove Avenue to Bruce Ave needs bump outs. And every neighborhood in the city needs speed limit enforcement.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I feel like the streetscape follows the development, not the other way around. Not to say that it couldn't happen the other way around, but construction tears up the sidewalks a lot.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
"The survey, conducted by Center Street PAC, found Ryan ahead of Vance with 43 percent support to the Republican's 34 percent support as of July 3, while 23 percent were undecided" Center Street PAC is a Lincoln Project type organization https://www.newsweek.com/tim-ryan-crushing-j-d-vance-ohio-senate-race-poll-1722482

Damn, some of the replies on this are brutal. Mostly congratulatory... but many just... rude.

Greene County: Development and News
That building looks pretty cool, not going to lie.

Putting the X in WVXU. I think this is a pretty good location. I thought their proposal for the block adjacent to City Hall was WAY too low density for the area. This seems like a more appropriate density, and just next to Wasson Way. Would be great to see this spur even more transformations along the bike trail.

Greene County: Development and News
Xenia's embrace of bike infrastructure and this more compact development plan shows that the city is ahead of the Ohio-rural-city pack when it comes to 21st century re-urbanization.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I'm sure the building is well constructed and will serve its function. I just feel like this part of the city deserves more bespoke architecture. For example: A restaurant on the Scioto River

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I have a feel like option A is the best option for a few reasons. 1) It's the densest option leaving more room for growth or more outdoor space. 2) It reconnects Republic Street from what I can see, via a pedestrian path allowing for better connectivity 3) It completes the Vine Street street wall. I think more outdoor space is fantastic for the folks who live around this part of the city. I go to a gym down the street and I am wondering if we would be able to access the outdoor space for outdoor workouts.

Cincinnati: Bicycling Developments and News
I think #1 could be one of the absolute best trails in the city! The map shows it stopping at Groesbeck but I hope TriState Trails and the City would figure out a way to work with Children's Hospital, the Bradford, and College Hill Presbyterian to get the trail all the way to Hamilton and the southern end of College Hill's business district.

Wilmington / Clinton County: Development and News
Will be really interesting to see what the discussion around density and character becomes as the city welcomes new mixed use development in its historic district.

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Hey y'all! I think the best way to get involved right now is add your name to the e-mail updates on the website https://www.bridge-forward.org/ and, I cannot stress this enough, write to your elected officials at the city and county level. Something simple, include the article, indicate your support. So far, and I'm taking this straight from the article, this is what Council has to say, CC: @Dev When you are out talking about the project, the common theme in messaging is this: 1) It is possible to reclaim WAY more space for downtown Cincinnati 2) reconnect isolated portions of [the former West End] Queensgate to downtown and the West End opening up unimaginable opportunities for the growth and connectivity of the basin 3) not jeopardize the construction, timeline, or funding for the Brent Spence Bridge. What's obvious to most is that this proposal is so SO much better by every measure and though we aren't traffic engineers... it seems like it might cost less to build a straight trench with repeated elements on the ground than a dynamically sinusoidal rhizome of elevated onramps, offramps, and bridges in the air. Furthermore: The reconstruction of the northern approach is going to cause headaches during construction NO MATTER WHICH scheme is approved. Why would we spend billions of dollars, and years of headache, just to have something akin to the exact same approach we had before the companion bridge construction ESPECIALLY when we can undo a century of bad decision making with a little bit of creativity. How is this different than FWW? Different people in positions of power and duty and a different lead up to the circumstances that got us here. So please, share with anyone you know. Talk to your friends and family about it, but especially express support to city and business leaders. Thanks to you all for always having interesting conversations about urbanism and architecture here. I might not always agree with the tone or topic, but I am certainly reading and learning.

Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
I have convinced myself they intentionally left this corner empty and are planning something substantial for the future. Such a prime location. Would be a shame if it was just for more loading and receiving and not something that picks up on the increasing pedestrian activity at this intersection. Why wouldn't they move their tap room across the street? Their location at Findlay is great, and I love the pocket plaza they have, but I can only imagine this corner would be better... especially with an opportunity for rooftop anything.

*a wild cincinnatian appeared* Yo, love lurking on the other regional board! Hello! Not sure what the appetite for the project is in the neighborhood... but I do not think these renderings do the project any good. Bad angles that make the project look even more massive than it already is and for what? No human is ever going to see the build from that birds eye vantage point.

Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
If organizing minds are somehow successful in changing the course of history with a "Fort Washington Way West" I really think a good location would be the UPS Gest Hub. This is absolutely just an "armchair expert" doodle and not intended to be taken super seriously. EDIT: I've mislabeled John St. that should go one block east. What is labeled John Street would be an extension of Covington's Mainstrasse in Cincinnati via the Clyde Wade Baily Bridge.

I hadn't seen any of these site plans in articles I had seen thus far. Maybe someone has a flat image?
