A terrible trend I've noticed at just about every train station is a parking lot set between the station and the street! It is important for park and ride situations, but this definitely kills any sense of urbanism at the stations. The most horrible example is the W117th red line station.
  2. While it's nice to see any sort of new building in Cleveland, I can't help but be a little disappointed at this whole complex. It feels very separated from the urban fabric, almost like a gated community. And not really any mixed use within walking distance like you see in some of the greatest neighborhoods, sure they have a few bars and restaurants in the area but nowhere to go get everyday necessities within a comfortable walking distance. Definitely built to car scale rather than pedestrian scale.
  3. There is a huge abandoned surface lot right across the street, the very LAST thing this area needs is another parking lot. The West Bank has to be at least 75% parking lots at this point. Too bad there are no public transit options on this side of the flats.
