  1. Additionally, by the very nature of the world we live in, its typically not a good look for adults to go roaming around high schools anyways. I understand and appreciate investing in education, but I think if they would've sold that land for development - about which they were approached directly - they would have had even more money to spend on a school in a more appropriate location
  2. They segregate the Christmas party too lol

So, having played in college, the last few years when I've gone to camp, I've seen some demonstrably bad NFL teams and my eye for the game quickly overcame my eternal optimism as a Browns fan. That doesn't seem to be the case this year. At all. I didn't think I'd ever be saying these words. But the Browns are loaded. Myles Garrett x Jamie Collins x Chris Kirksey x Emmanuel Ogbah x Joe Schobert is a FORMIDABLE pass rush. While our secondary is improved, its still average at best, in my opinion. Having a prolific pass rush like that will quickly make them above average. Our offensive skill positions are also loaded. Njoku will be one of the best TE's in the NFL, soon. Hyde x Johnson x Chubb will be a problem for defenses. Not to mention, Jarvis Landry x Josh Gordon with a quarterback that is accurate. Our offensive line is still green and I think we'll see more zone combo blocks as the year goes on to compensate, as well as a lot of 12 and 22 personnel to leave Vitale or Hyde to block. I doubt Hue Jackson as a head coach, but with Todd Haley and Gregg Williams as our coordinators, the Browns are in REALLY good hands this year, you guys. If you're a betting man, go find your bookie or take a trip to a sports book and throw everything you have on the OVER for the Browns 5.5 wins.
  4. ^Will it be an elementary?
  5. Wow. Looks like I might've gotten lucky with that land ripe for development like that. Really wish CMSD would sell that land, especially since they already made a new Max Hayes, but hey... there's worse things that could go in a neighborhood. Thanks for all of the feedback, guys.
  6. CbusTransit[/member] thanks!
  7. Thanks guys! I agree i love the street. What I’ve heard from most is that I should expect the opportunity crime typical to Ohio City or DS, but I just want to go into it with eyes wide open. Especially since my fiancé will be living there eventually too
  8. Hey guys, I hope this is the right forum, as it’s technically the border of Ohio City and Detroit Shoreway, but I closed on a house on 50th near Detroit and Franklin. Anyone live in the area? Do I have any safety concerns beyond the ordinary concerns of Ohio’s City, Tremont, Detroit Shoreway? Thanks guys! And Mods, if this is the wrong thread go ahead and move me elsewhere!
  9. According to Bernie Moreno, yes.
  10. https://m.facebook.com/BentleyCLE/ Bentley coming back to Greater Cleveland
  11. ^With all due respect, I've been to Staten Island... it's not what I aspire for my hometown
  12. I get not wanting to make perfect the enemy of the good.... But I think we're still a far way off from "good" with this proposal
  13. I hate this attitude. A “low paying job” means a hell of a lot to someone without a job, and there are a lot of those in the city of Cleveland Now imagine them being able to get off the health line and walk right into their new job on Euclid.
  14. I zapped the article since it's already posted. But yeah, that guys loves a good complaint! When buses had to go around Public Square for those few months you would have thought Frank Jackson was rounding up civilians and having them waterboarded.
  15. ^Now that I see Sam Allard is against it I am wholly for it. This dude's incessant whining can make me take the most irrational positions lol
  16. If we had the population of Manhattan we wouldn’t be talking about this So basically it is you position that we have to accept trash from a low end developer on our lakefront because we are who we are. I am sick of cities agreeing to uninspired development just because, thank god, somebody is actually willing to build something in our town. If you’re not willing to deal with the realities of what we live in, then I don’t know what to say. Agree to disagree Ten years ago, the realities of Ohio City were much different than what they are now.... Forty years ago, the reality of Playhouse Square were STARKLY different than they are now...
  17. Sorry. Cleveland is a retail desert for a reason. It's not a conspiracy by retailers against us. It's because the demographics don't work for anything except for something that could be a regional draw. And the only way to draw from the region into downtown/near downtown is by highway. I respect your opinion on these matters and realize that you probably know more than me. But I really think you're wrong here - not with regards to the highway, but with regards to the draw.
  18. I get that it may be a draw. But you literally could do this on Euclid Ave and Huron and brand it as a cheesy "Miracle Mile." J. Crew outlet, Saks off Fifth, Nike, Under Armour, Bath and Body Works, Polo, along with Geigers and Heinens would be a great draw for theoretically the same purpose. We will have filled in the gaps in downtown street level retail and give a better chance of success to any retail at Lumen. However, in my situation as opposed to the mall, we wouldn't be sacrificing space for a temporary fix. In 20 years if that mall goes under, we will be left with a MASSIVE, vacant structure on our lakefront. If these shops don't take off on Euclid, we're right back to where we are now.
  19. One weird thing though, whenever I travel with friends at some point in the trip they almost always gravitate toward recognizable retail. I think this can work. But at the same time the city can not allow a totally cut-off, traffic snarling exurban design. Demand a good building. And for the love of God give people the option to take RTA or park somewhere else downtown and walk there. Look, I'm not the "sheltered suburbanite" here.... but outlet malls in dense, urban areas - at least the ones I've been to in NY and Michigan City, IN have been completely run-down within a year of opening. I know this is a difficult issue to discuss due to the racial implications, but: A) An outlet mall isn't the best we can do. B) This likely won't attract the best crowds to the lakefront.
  20. I'm currently on the market for a house as many of you know. Catch 22 with Midtown is that the new construction where we feel safe is out of our price range, and the homes we like would be in our price range, including big renovations, but aren't on safe streets.
  21. I think a graffiti wall made entirely from human feces would be just as popular as an outlet mall.
  22. The block club approved the design & zoning variance. Cooler heads prevailed last night & it was very cordial. Due to the developers and neighborhood leaders hosting numerous meetings regarding this project, I think everyone already knew how they were going to vote. Admittedly, I stopped by anticipating with the mindset of a Roman citizen entering the Colosseum for a Punic War reenactment - was very disappointed to find out they were actually performing the Merchant of Venice. Lol, jk. I was really proud of the way it went last night. I literally stepped in and stepped out but was happy at how cordial the tone was.
  23. Respectfully disagree. I think McCormack is a "big picture" guy... especially when the proposal isn't a fly by night operation LOL. I'm not guessing what they will do here, I'm telling you what they have directly told me in private meetings. Dang, alright I'll take your word for it. I'll be there with four manikins with voice-recorded, pro-development statements projected from them. Young man. The fact you incorrectly spelled "mannequin" shows your (lack of) age! See, that's how I spelled it originally... then spell correct changed it... so I googled "manaquin" and the suggested search was manikin. My mind has been f**ked
