  1. My gut wholeheartedly agrees with you. The lack of foresight of many of our past leaders is nauseating. However, I think part of what holds us back as a region is the aging industrial infrastructure - I'm not sure that would apply here, but if Midtown can take off, I'll feel a little less bad about the hit job to Euclid Ave
  2. Oh, I did. I'm just happy to see someone acknowledging that Cleveland's government has become somewhat of a middle to far left obelisk.
  3. PASSES OUT AND DIES HAPPY
  4. My unpopular opinion: Lansi would've done a better job.

Let's also not forget that the Warriors had two players shoot 100% from the field yesterday and three others shoot above 50%. C'mon.
  6. The beautiful density of DC is what I see being emulated, in part (and on a much smaller scale), in Uptown/UC Cleveland - and why I actually prefer that area to Downtown. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.9037568,-77.0369287,3a,64.7y,264.61h,94.06t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1siFJcEdExqTAOZBIqvX8uaQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/place/Merrill+Lynch+Wealth+Management/@38.9047208,-77.0345057,3a,75y,202.7h,99.54t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sR39VAyIAtD7Q0IGThqM75g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x89b7b7bfc000bbdf:0x666b42d8963412ca!8m2!3d38.9049229!4d-77.035253 Cle: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.5088744,-81.6053157,3a,75y,16.98h,92.65t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sK6Hr7fwaAQf3-0ohEAKO4w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

I think there was an issue with him being in for that final rebound anyways. You know GS is going to take a timeout make or miss, so I think we should've went with height with TT, Korver, Green, Lebron, and Hill. After the timeout, we can swap Korver for JR and even Green for Nance if you want

Haven't been this shaken by a single, isolated moment in Cleveland sports since Kipnis hit a 500 ft foul ball in Game 7.

^Lol Murphy Gym, donated by Murlan Murphy, founder of Murphy's Oil Soaps - he also donated the chapel on campus. Fun story, he was never athletic enough to play sports during his time at Ignatius, but wanted to participate. So, as a millionaire, he decided to donate an auxiliary gym and fitness center as a means of promoting intramural sports and physical activities. Affixed to both the gym and the chapel in carved stone is the phrase "Vide quid est herba fullonum" - Look what soap made.

Well said ML11[/member] ... As an alum and booster at St. Ignatius, there has been talks of expanding Wasmer Field on campus to accommodate 8,000+ and I know Great Lakes is fully on board with limiting street access to W. 28th to provide for the expansion of bleachers. There were even discussions of a parking garage and shuttle service provided by Great Lakes from the restaurant to the field (despite it being 800 feet away). The money is already there and set to go, I think the issues, for the moment, are convincing some within the athletic program that its a good idea. If Ignatius does move forward in the next 4-5 years, an 8,000 seater in Ohio City would be an unbelievable American soccer atmosphere.
  12. I promise I'm not trying to be a debbie downer... but why Phase II when there are several spots within phase one that are unable to maintain tenants?
  13. ^It will also depend if Stark sees the entertainment, business, or residential aspect of this project as its most crucial component.
  14. I honestly think this project would be better served with a 30ish story building with 5-6 levels of parking immediately adjacent to the Q. He could land commercial tenants that need the "A" office space. However, he loses the "Live" entertainment portion of the agreement as well as the hotel
  15. So wait, is IBM still increasing its Cleveland presence or what?
  16. What will this do to Cleveland Police HQ?
  17. Euclid Ave, 1911 - while Cleveland was the 6th largest city in the country behind New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Boston.
  18. I'd actually heard it may become an incubator.

AmrapinVA[/member] I'm in agreement with most of what you said, but don't FAA regs, in general terms, come into play with anything over 400'?

^I was just thinking the same thing. However, I'd actually prefer more density via 450-700' buildings than a 950' building an empty patches in our skyline
  21. ^The inside is already pretty nice. A buddy of mine lived there during law school and his neighbors were all sweethearts. However, they were mainly Pakistani and I just remember every time I entered the elevator to the door of his unit I was overwhelmed with the smell of ethnic food. I guess that's one of the fun/annoying parts of apartment buildings, though - depending what kind of mood you're in.

I was taking environmental law in law school when I learned of Harshaw Chemical. A truly dark history in that building, and still a sizable radioactive presence if you take a radiation meter down there. On a day with a strong wind from the path, some baddddddd waves can hit you. Additionally, the adjacent railroad tracks still gather water that ultimately run off to the river. ^There is some quackiness in the video, but he takes a radiation meter near the path in the video.
  23. ^You know more than me re: it having been scaled back. I really don't know much else, other than the builders itching for more.

Are you referring to Harshaw Chemical?

That Cleats should be able to capitalize on all the towpath traffic. Man, that area is not exactly the prettiest section of trail lol. My fiance and I biked downtown, put our bikes in her car, drove to Canal Road, and continued to bike another 15 miles from there. That's how awful connecting from Steelyard to Denison is.
