  1. KJP[/member] per your inquiries, my curiosity got the best of me... I went full weirdo at the gym this morning, and asked 8 members where they were from. 5 Ohio 2 - NY (Buffalo and Binghampton) 1 - Virginia (Ashburn)
  2. Right. Casual vibe in there.
  3. Duck Island Bar is closed and looking for new owners. To be honest, it's a bit of a dead zone at the moment. HOWEVER, as someone that jogs and bikes the route frequently, there is MASSIVE investment in all direction within 1,000 feet each way. The neighborhood will be significantly different in 18 months than it is now. And it's still not bad.
  4. Spoke with some of the people at Saucy last night, they expect to lose their parking lot by May 1st

In interesting news, a man at my gym this morning had a Cleveland SC tattoo. Not joking
  6. ^23, I believe?
  7. I actually think that would be better served on the Keith Building Nah, the west side of PHS tower would be outstanding. Eating dinner with most of downtown's skyline in the foreground and the sunset in the background would be the ultimate romantic dining spot. Top of the Crown Plaza?
  8. I actually think that would be better served on the Keith Building
  9. Site construction to begin in the first or second full week of April, from what I hear.

^Yeah, I was skeptical at first because my friend is emotional about this. But, when I posted and it was deleted it still showed up for my personal viewing, but with a red *content disabled* asterisks next to it. And I agree. They should require a facebook login. People are more civil and cogent when their identity is known
  11. ^^ It appears that they are doing renovations to the outside of the Arcade in that picture. If my recollection serves me correctly, the Hyatt bought and began renovations in late 2001?

Hey All, I have a unique problem that I feel should be confronted, but I am quite unsure as to how to do so. In the interest of candor, I will just say off of the bat, that I have family and friends that have been negatively affected by this issue. Nonetheless, in my hometown of Parma Heights, I've come to learn that there is one disgruntled resident - a single male in his early 60s - who uses and operates about 12-15 usernames on Cleveland.com. I did a deep dive into the comments, noticed copy and paste patterns from a few years ago re: the institution of the "Code Red" system for senior citizen health aid and it tends to confirm the allegations that he uses multiple usernames. As such, he and his mother have written several letters to the editor saying several untrue and misleading things about the city administration. While I myself am critical of much of what's been done in the city, I know friends and family who would like to comment and offer counterpoints to what he's said - and I encouraged them to do so. Nonetheless, each counterpoint has been deleted throughout the last two postings in which he has offered commentary. When my friends reached out to me about this issue, I was first curious as to if they had been disrespectful, rude, off-topic, or demeaning in their commentary - after they shared their comments with me, it was clear that their comments were appropriate, topical, polite, and well-reasoned. I know cleveland.com is a private site and can control commentary on their comment forums, but this has become a tad excessive. I, myself, created a username yesterday and simply posted a comment saying; "in this regard, I feel the mayor has done a good job", it was deleted a little over an hour later. The 1st Amendment is not implicated on a private forum, but I cannot help but feel a little frustrated. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Can anyone offer an explanation?
  13. Roughly how many Ohio plates? Considering my video skills suck, I still urge many of you to drive the length of Murray Hill Road, from Cedar to Mayfield, and look at the license plates of the parked cars. I'd say like 75-80% Ohio plates.
  14. This weekend at my building: Georgia - 1 Maryland - 2 New York - 4 Pennsylvania - 1 Florida - 1 Texas - 1 California - 1 Michigan - 2
  15. Will this funding mandate for-rent units only?
  16. ^Odds are, Disney Store isn't what will end up in there. But these dimensions are interesting to consider
  17. ^To that point, since I agree, 1900 is small for a Disney store... does anyone know the height dimensions? 2 levels could work.
  18. Well... he confirmed he wasn't intoxicated... But he heard from an associate of his that the idea of opening a flagship Disney Store on the street is being explored. I, for one, think this is a phenomenal idea. I know it isn't as sexy as some assume, but if this rumor has any teeth I think that's a great spot for it.
  19. ^Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put
  20. Guys, just heard (what I think) is an amazing rumor about the retail.............. If anyone else has heard anything about the identity of the lessor, shoot me a DM. I'll drop this bomb shortly once I make sure my friend wasn't drunk when he heard it - which is always a possibility
  21. Yeah, retirees leaving isn't necessarily a bad thing. It will help keep property values attractive and make the mean age lower.
  22. How long do people normally rent a car? isn't it for a few days or maybe a week or two? I'm seeing the same cars parked outside of apartment buildings in my neighborhood for several months now. And do that many people rent cars so that half the cars parked on Murray Hill Road are from out of state? Or at Ohio City apartments near where YABO713[/member] lives? And is bringing large amounts of out-of-state rental cars a new thing? If so, why? If the out-of-state plates was the only strange new thing going that indicates significant numbers of new relocations, then I would agree that something car-related is going on -- and only car related. But there are multiple non-car-related indicators involved and referenced in my article. And I didn't even include the comments in this forum about out-of-state newcomers are forumers' gyms, fitness centers, etc. Further, I know most of the people to whom the cars belong.
  23. Yeah, Brutus_buckeye[/member] is pretty much spot on. I wouldn't spend the money on an attorney unless he tries to evict you before the term of the lease expires due to the sale
  24. ^Not only will the Beacon fill in the gap, but the PHS tower will essentially widen our skyline. From most views, the skyline pretty much ends at the Erieview.
  25. ^Well, he deadlifts for days, so I don't know how far we'll get with threats of physical violence.
