Cleveland SC Discussion
^I think the City Stars were managed terribly. Most Clevelanders didn't even know they existed. The demand for soccer in Cleveland is there, but you can't sell based on that demand unless consumers know its available.

Still a crime issue in the immediate vicinity, but Parnell's or Becky's could work as a pregame bar

That's actually not awful. Wish it was in the city proper but there are several walkable bars there.

They need to play at Wasmer Field at Ignatius in Ohio City to have ANY prayer of developing a fan base. No Byers Field No Bedford Stadium

^I have a friend who firmly contends that the only skyscrapers built in Cleveland beyond 2020 will be in Uptown. Points to the density, ridership, and innovation of that area as his reasons

Honeymoon Ideas
Thank you! We are both avid hikers so I will keep that in my pocket. I think - and I'd tend to agree - there will be an appeal from my fiance for a vacation to the Caribbean in February. We were planning to fly into Burlington, VT and make a 4-5 day car trip through New England during the foliage in 2019... I think that just got added to the list.

Awesome, thank you. I had seen some resorts on the Corn Islands in the Caribbean as well. Thanks for the insight

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
What makes you think of that as the timeline? Have any of the regular parkers in that lot gotten a notice?/ Btw, not trying to be argumentative, I had just heard May 1st as best case scenario - your information is likely more complete and accurate than mine though

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Agreed. But that is all I know for now. Does anyone know how far out in advance these things are normally signed for?

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I didn't interpret it as such, so no worries! Unfortunately, I'm not privy to the details of the contract; only that it has been signed and the company is preparing... I'm as curious about the details as everyone else! This is one project though that I'm definitely more bullish on it actually being completed since the Playhouse Square District Development Corporation is involved in the financing, and they seem to know what they are doing. There is a lease agreement in place for a crane already as well. Signed.

Honeymoon Ideas
Hey all, I got engaged on Friday, and my fiance and I are looking at a wedding date in late February of next year. Before you say anything, I know - hard to believe anyone would want to spend the rest of their lives with me - I assure you, I was equally surprised when she answered in the affirmative. As such, as I can always count on you guys, I figured I would reach out about honeymoon ideas. Here are the criterion for our destination: 1. Caribbean - we don't really want to spend too much time travelling to get there. A 2.5 hour flight to Miami and then another 2-2.5 hours is more than enough time on a plane for me. 2. I'd like it to be all inclusive, so I know what I'm spending beforehand - but I'm certainly open to traditional payment options as well. 3. We're definitely outdoorsy, so an island with snorkeling, hiking, mountain biking, etc is ideal. 4. My fiance is staunchly against St. Lucia - I've only been engaged for 3 days but I've already learned not to ask questions - so x that off of the list. 5. We would prefer to be around adults and not on a MASSIVE resort if possible. Thanks guys, any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

^Lol, I've just heard the beginning spitballing of ideas. However, it's (allegedly) geared toward non-elitism - though this first rumored criterion may dispute that: 1. Advanced degree 2. $200 monthly fee. 3. Recommendation from charter member. 4. Affiliation with a charitable organization - with parts of fees going to those... Benefits: 1. Library 2. Bar and restaurant 3. Fitness facility 4. Seminars 5. "Hello Fresh" type service. I don't know any of the specifics, but I actually tend to think social clubs are kind of cool. Save the stuffy, snobbish cliques that inevitably will come with places like this - I think it's a good place to feed the intellectual juices. Right now, the $200/month seems too steep for what I'd believe this place would be able to attract, but we shall see.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Hearing rumblings of a men's (I think) "social club" going in on or near W 25th. Still very preliminary, but this could be a unique spot in Ohio City - a more modern-focused Union Club- Ohio-wide: Best Toilets
Cuyahoga County Justice Center might be on my worst list as well- Ohio-wide: Best Toilets
Okay, I think we can all benefit from this thread. Personally, my job calls me to every corner of the state, and when nature calls, I am often in TROUBLE. As such, I'm starting this thread to shed light on the best public / quasi-public bathrooms in the state. Here's my list: - Downtown Cleveland 1. Marriot at Key Center 2. Phoenix Coffee E. 9th 3. Cavs Team Shop - Off of 480 1. Embassy Suites (Independence) -Off of 271 1. Aloft (Beachwood) 2. Bahama Breeze (Beachwood) Off of I-80 1. Boulder Creek (Streetsboro) Off of I-71 1. Holiday Inn (Strongsville) 2. Airport Marriot (Cleveland) - Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
