There's give and takes to the topography issue. For example, Pittsburgh's skyline is dense like Chicago or NY's, but in an extremely confined space, the topography necessitated that. Not great for volume in inner city neighborhoods though, as you note.
  2. ^Brooklyn is having that land replaced with a new tenant. They might've been the lucky one in all of this.
  3. I haven't heard a peep since December. But, if what I had heard then was true - that the financing is lined up - silence would be a good thing. If your information proves correct, silence is not good.
  4. ^Im of the school of thought that the silence is a good thing
  5. Won't this project be replacing most of those fields? No, there is an area currently untouched by the field turf. I believe it used to serve as an equipment shed - this area and a little bit more will become the new facility.
  6. ^Bravo on St. Ignatius. Those new multi-purpose field turf areas off of Chatham have been great for the neighborhood. It's so awesome that they've opened that area for community use. I have driven by dozens of times to see neighborhood kids playing touch football or tag in a safe, monitored, fenced in area. The new locker-rooms will be a great addition over there. Always proud of my alma mater.

  8. I believed TK was supposed to open a location in the flats as a Panini's, in between Collision Bend and Coastal Taco.

So, I made a withdrawal from Coinbase last week (Thursday) and it says the withdrawal is completed, with a reference to my Keybank account. Yet, no funds show up in my Keybank account and there are no pending transactions listed. HALP plz
  10. Only need to turn the clock back to the late 1990s; what if First Energy stadium was never built at this location? Cleveland City Council would've voted unanimously to turn the space into a coal-fired power plant.
  11. If a stadium is built, at the very least, 200 new jobs will be created in that area, which will then change the demographics of the neighborhood and allow grocery stores to look at it as a viable neighborhood. OR... don't build the stadium and have at it on your own
  12. ^I agree. But there is a Catch 22 here. You can't successfully develop the lakefront without at least some elements of walkability - I'd posit that E. 9th and W. 3rd provide about 33% of the connectivity needed - this will likely require a connector. However, the connector will be a waste of money until the lakefront becomes a "destination." Right now, Nuevo on its own isn't enough to rationalize it.
  13. Sometimes you've gotta get burned to learn not to put your hand on the stove.
  14. 50% minority party requirement makes it next to impossible to have anything close to what we have now.
  15. ^I can get behind that. Gerrymandering leaves us with Jim Jordan and Marcia Fudge, and a Congress unable to function
  16. The degree thing isn't huge to me. Lloyd Blankfein was a History major that went to law school. But I agree, Yellen deserves much more praise.
  17. About $130. And yes they're individually metered.
  18. Hey guys, I didn't want to start a new thread... but would love some help - if possible. I live in a 750 sq ft apartment in Ohio City. It's run entirely on electric, even the oven. Nonetheless, when I signed the lease, I was informed that the previous tenant's electric bill was roughly $80-$130 a month, depending on the season. Yesterday, I received a bill from Cleveland Public Power for $360. I am pissed/in shock at this number. First, I was on vacation for 5 days this month, in which I set my heaters to 65 degrees. Secondly, I only keep 2 of my 3 heaters on. Third, it's a 750 square foot apartment - I feel like my bill shouldn't be this high if I had my heater at 90 and my oven on 24/7. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on? A bulk of the bill is dedicated to an "energy adjustment charge".
  19. Fewer regulations and governmental approvals required back then. Also more injuries and deaths back then, too. So like looking into the future of Trump's America..... My Great-Grandfather died as a steelworker on the Terminal Tower. No harness, no nothing. Different times, different people, bigger balls.
  20. Good, I park illegally in that lot 2-3 times a week :)
  21. Gould said the building would not change all that much, but some modifications to the exterior, including new colors, and minor changes to the parking lot can be expected. Uh oh. Hope you guys in OC like purple! Had to laugh. I went to Beet Jar this morning for my daily juice (highly recommend btw) and there were two women in there who - for the purple hair and nose ring(s) - I will presume were liberal (forgive me if I'm wrong). And they were complaining about how Planet Fitness is going to come into the neighborhood and price residents out of being able to work out. Couldn't help myself - I interjected and told them that Planet Fitness is $10/month and would likely be cheaper or equal to membership at a rec center. To which they replied, "Well if it's only $10/month they probably hire cheap workers." ^Yes, Feminista, they likely do. They'll likely hire local 18-22 year olds for part time jobs. Is that such a travesty?
  22. Jukebox was featured in WSJ today, pretty cool
  23. You could actually put commercial vendors in the little dugout along the garage in the summer months. Just temporary stands, but cool nonetheless. What we could do is close E.6th to traffic for select days and make it a destination.
