Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
My understanding was that PHS had their financing in line before they even made their announcement

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
lol down4cle[/member] I kept the faith. What would be REALLY cool is if the City doesn't hold up PHS tower too long and we can have two cranes in the sky at the same time by May.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Yeah, Scranton Peninsula is not possible logistically without an additional rapid line or some sort of people mover. Again, I know this is all hypothetical... but I think the only three even quasi-realistic options are 1. Midtown 2. BLF / Muni lot 3. Huntington Building + New MASSIVE structure in the place of JHB building. Even taking up the entirety of the Justice Center block or the Weston Developments footprint would likely be too tight of a squeeze for the footprint required.

Ohio: General Business & Economic News
I know we're all in hypothetical land here... But I think any possibility of landing Amazon HQ2 would see them taking 5-6 blocks of Midtown / Campus district. The areas South of St. Claire, North of Carnegie, East of East 18, and West of East 105th.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
clvlndr[/member] I often say that University Circle and Uptown reminds me more of DC than Cleveland. Mainly buildings less than 20 stories but DENSE and loaded with life and culture

To the "work ethic" comment above... I have heard that employees at these facilities are monitored by GPS and their footsteps are also counted.

I'd just like to say thank you to whoever decided to open Heck's Express during construction. Bless you.

2018 Gubernatorial Election
I'm all aboard the Mary Taylor train. Husted has hitched his wagon to Josh Mandel far too many times for me to believe he is a man of integrity.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Perhaps an in depth discussion is best in a different thread, but my sources at S-W indicate that the new HQ seems less likely now than it did 6 months ago.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
^I'll save the indictments for completion of the project. In all seriousness though, this will be nice if they could get the crane up for the Tribe's playoff run.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
I have a funny feeling that in a couple of weeks your picture is going to be posted on the construction office bulletin board and underneath it is going to say "turn and run away fast when you see this guy". In a couple of weeks? I was detained and tasered upon entering the premises today.... Worth it for a hot scoop though

Ohio: Criminal Justice Reform
Being a young man waiting on his bar results, I thought I would begin another thread that I'm passionate about... This article out of Stark County REALLY upset me last night. Essentially, these Judges are refusing state funding to lower the sentencing guidelines for first offenders and non-violent drug offenders or, in the alternative, sending them to rehab facilities. The Judges claim that this state funding amounts to a "bribe." What I find interesting is that these two Judges quoted in this article don't have a problem with accepting money from the private prison lobby for campaigns. That lobby directly ENCOURAGES the incarceration of Ohio's populace, as their prison is a profit making venture. I have always hated the fact that we elect our State Supreme Court, and the big money is seeping in at the local level too. Our most vulnerable citizens are paying the price for this. https://t.co/e8AwXyCxXk

Parked nearby today and hyperventilated while walking by. Being the nosey a**hole I am, I stopped and asked someone how long before the crane gets there and he told me sometime next week is what they're aiming for...

KJP[/member] I was being 100% satirical. I am absolutely smitten with Amazon right now. I cannot remember the last time 2,000 jobs came to NEO in bulk and I am so excited about what it will do to the surrounding area.

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
^ Right, and I don't think people commit with the idea that an NBA franchise will let their arena age; in most cities, it's par for the course. You're grasping at straws here with only one of the litany of items I listed.
