Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
I want to believe down4cle[/member] with all my heart re: the August start date... However, this is now the second time I have seen preparation for construction in this garage. Just dont want my heart to be too vulnerable here, I'm not sure it could recover from disappointment of this level.

Aronic, headquartered in Pittsburgh, unfortunately was the company that supplied the flammable panels to the high-rise apartment building in London that caught fire. They have the old Alcoa plant at 1600 Harvard Ave in Newburgh Heights. KJP aka Buzz Killington

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
I paid the extra money to park there again this morning and noticed a man with a sight-level on the top floor of the garage. I would assume this would be in preparation for the crane. Exciting stuff.

Also, pretty cool, Alcoa's HQ in France publicly noted Cleveland as its most efficient plant last week.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Beyond his arm strength - which is terrific - is his pocket presence. He took one bad sack yesterday after the Saints dropped to Tampa 2 after showing cover 0 and I think it stunned him a bit. But that's growing pains that any quarterback will go through.

Kizer will be a franchise quarterback. I'm not saying you start him right now, but I think this is the year to start a rookie. We have a solid offensive line who diagnoses most blitzes on their own anyway. That's a major plus for a rookie quarterback to lean on. Not to mention, one of the most efficient RB's in the game in Crowell. As for the defense, I would like to see a few more field-zone-dog schemes from Gregg Williams. I know he plays his cards close to the vest in preseason, but our 1 and 3 techniques aren't physically able to stuff the run and force the ball outside. If we send more blitzes from the field - with Kirksey at Will - I think we force more and more runs to the boundary and that will help Jamie Collins & Co. clean up on the strong side.

I've heard that Sawyer's restaurants in general are not doing well - which I found hard to believe. Hope this is not an indication of more to come.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Tell them not to get too comfy (if you're referring to Skylight). The plan is to move more departments over to Hinckley as renovations continue and space opens up. Right now they are in the process of building a gym at the new location. I wish they'd build a gym on the 65th floor of their new tower. :|

Why does that look so familiar? There's some veracity to this, but Edge 32 is not of this basic design - at least not the major highrise right on Detroit. If one doesn't want this sort of building, there are all sorts of older buildings one can consider, including all the hundreds of older retrofitted buildings. This can be said of all periods of the past century - e.g. apartment houses of the early '60s tend to look similar, also from the early '40s, the late '20s, etc. I disagree, I think Edge 32 looks exactly like this sort of design. And while it's true that we don't have to live in them if we don't want to, we still have to look at these turds when we go about our lives in these neighborhoods. they're the urban, multifamily equivalent of a McMansion. To that point. So many people I talk to absolutely HATE the new construction on Jay and West 30th; I love it, though.

Looks beautiful. I think the brick respects the character of the neighborhood while contributing a new, modern look.

Cleveland: Former Key Club
Does anyone have any information about what is being done with this space since it closed last year? I had heard an LA Fitness was planning on taking over the gym space but have not heard anything further lately.
