  1. In my experience, yes. Though they did do a good job carving out some Additional feet in the street so parking does not impede the flow of two way traffic.
  2. So, there's no parking spots due to retail but retail needs needs more parking to thrive? What's the saying? "No one goes there anymore because it's too crowded." Lol, I am referring to the additional plans for retail. Secondly, there was no parking, but we walked into a relatively empty Cha (though the patio had decent traffic) and then had a beer at Terrestrial which was maybe half full. I am smitten with Battery Park as an area, I love the density of the townhomes, but there are some practical limitations into making it a "neighborhood" without allowing greater access to those that do not live in the immediate area and does not want to have to make an hour commute to link buses from another part of town.
  3. Went to dinner at Cha last night. Had to park about 5 blocks away. I am usually on the "screw your parking demand" team... but something needs to be done to address this if there is any shot at retail thriving in BP
  4. I think they're going to outgrow that space in relatively short time.
  5. Anyone know why the top couple floors will remain commercial? I'd assume there is a tenant in there right now that they don't want to lose but idk.
  6. Perfect word choice. In all honesty, for kids searching to go to college at a "city campus", looking west down Euclid from Cleveland State will certainly provide the "in the city" feel. One of my biggest grievances with Downtown is that we don't have enough "portal"-like perspectives. We get it a big on 9th in the stip from PNC to Ameritrust as well as on Superior from the 5/3 Building to 1717, but we could certainly use more of it! Hopefully the addition of the Beacon provides it down Euclid as well.
  7. Agreed with the lake issue. If you have ever played top golf, I think you could see how this might actually make the game more fun, as it is more of a game than a driving range
  8. My cousin heard rumblings of a "Top Golf" opening Near FEB. I feel like it's not possible due to the footprint; has anyone else heard anything of the sort?

And as I write this, Gilbert is letting griff walk. Unreal. Stability is the common theme in great sports organizations, this move is puzzling and makes you wonder if Gilbert hasn't learned a thing in all his years...all of his success with this franchise is tied directly to Lebron. Little man syndrome.... Hopefully Lebron was ok with the move Wasn't unreasonable at all of Griffin. We have an exorbitant payroll on which we pay a luxury tax, but the lowest paid front office.
  10. Here's what I have been doing. Parking across from the Flat Iron at Settler's Landing and walking (provided the temperature was bareable) OR parking at the aquarium and hopping on the water taxi, both would be more time efficient. Though, your comment is noted and probably should be confronted in a meaningful way. Cleveland has been a victim of its own success in FEB and the new developments at Edgewater - I have heard nothing but "the [venue] is beautiful and fun but boy was getting out of there a nightmare."
  11. I have not, but my cousin's financial advisory business is there and has been for over 15 years. As far as I know they are happy.
  12. It never ceases to amaze me how people got dressed up for the privilege of partaking in activities we now take for granted, like going to a ball game or driving in a car...... or voting
  13. ^is there any downside to this?
  14. Thanks down4cle[/member]
  15. Wish that "set to be built" was swapped with "construction begins on ___"
  16. I went and studied in the atrium at the art museum today; on my break I walked around outside. Safe to say I am absolutely smitten with what Uptown has become, and this tower is really pulling it together. I couldn't help but feel like I was walking around Washington DC. I mean, I walked maybe 1-1.5 miles and during that time I passed world class museums, the home of a world class orchestra, a prestigious university, and a residential tower with the proverbial "crane in the sky." The area was SOOOO full of life. Students, doctors, families, locals, all enjoying it. I'm now more convinced than ever that this is just the start of residential development Uptown.
  17. This would be a great opportunity to create a neighborhood "downtown" center near the rapid to spur redevelopment in the area. Even if a bunch of the lots right on the OC become light-industrial suburban-setback and -density-type development, those people will want to have a place to go to have lunch, do some shopping, take care of some dry-cleaning -- create a PLACE -- like E.4th's renaissance -- where people want to be (and preferably near the rapid) and I think we would see a lot more private development in the surrounding area. Maybe! Definitely a worthwhile notion. Perhaps it may be too close in proximity to the residential renaissance uptown is undergoing? That's the only drawback I'd see outside of initial setbacks with crime.
  18. I was actually thinking that the city might try to rezone the areas immediately adjacent to the OC, limiting property owner's ability to sell in the future. Might be a wise move, especially for light industrial. Just hope the owners are offered just compensation.

It's a great town with great people. Being there certainly allows your mind to wander to yesteryear!
  21. Wow, this is great. Love that its from ZipRecruiter and not someone with a stake in the matter.

"[umberto] Fedeli is hosting a high-dollar fundraiser for Jackson at his Gates Mills home at the end of the month." A conservative Republican who lives in the Village of Gates Mills and whose business is located in the City of Independence is hosting a fundraiser for the Democratic mayor of the City of Cleveland ANNNNNNNNNNND the election is over. He's quietly the most powerful man in the county.
  23. That's odd? Isn't that right next door to Titans Gym? Orange Theory Fitness only offers group workout sessions, and is geared towards a completely different market than Titan's. They have a large following around the country and Ohio. I expect OTF to do very well in Downtown Cleveland. Here's some info on them: https://www.orangetheoryfitness.com/ Rise Nation and Harness Cycle are also opening up locations near Gateway. Did an OrangeTheory class in Strongsville last month. Fun time. That is the second niche gym opening downtown, with Rise(?) opening next to Geiger's on Euclid.
  24. Heating and cooling units going up at the Edge
  25. It appears the HVAC is about to go on the roof at the Edge
