  1. It's disappointing to even attempt an apples to apples comparison. Property damage is wrong. But there's no comparison to storming the seat of government in an attempt to overturn an election.
  2. I love the unintended irony of the news showing the blighted and vacant parcel that the project would be built on...
  3. I said something similar over the weekend and my friend countered: "And then, 5 years from now when 35,000 people live downtown and they need office space again... bye bye surface lots."
  4. Frontier goes Trans-Atlantic?
  5. I don't love Frontier... but it's excellent news! Most importantly, this will give other airlines a metric to gauge expansion at CLE
  6. Lmao they really want young, left leaning Ohioans to show up to the polls don’t they

Call it cliche, but the goal should never be anything less than the highest goal possible. There have been less talented teams than this Browns rosters to win Super Bowls.

No no no, that can't be. I've been told Stefanski is a fool and my drunk neighbor can call a better game than him?
  9. Lmao no the publication is actually a psych journal. My cousin was involved and she's a sociologist.
  10. I saw a poll last week which still hasn't been published... but it polled 2,500 remote workers between the age of 25 - 40. 78% of them want an office to go to and see co-workers at least twice a week.
  11. I know this is a pipe dream but I'd love to see condos in its place. Whether through a repurposing or a new project, IDC. But get more equity downtown.
  12. This is still too early to juice @KJPin on any further details - because this is literally all I've heard... But I overheard a couple acquaintances discussing the possibility of a tower conversion into affordable (not publicly subsidized) housing with 3-4 story, on-street structures occupying the space of the former jail with dining/retail on ground level. The conversation also involved a sizzling criticism for the county's current handling of the Medical Mart, and how they fear that will be an underutilized dead spot for years to come 😔
  13. Dublin's CBD - if you do a 360 on these pics, you'll see mainly new (under 15 years) buildings less than 10 stories. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.3481284,-6.2485104,3a,54.4y,242.92h,95.78t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s55aeP0G-I1Fr2FIjNxYvKw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu https://www.google.com/maps/@53.3496123,-6.2513427,3a,75y,148.77h,100.99t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sRDBTWylJzVhkHkQ3yEGgsw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DRDBTWylJzVhkHkQ3yEGgsw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D99.67675%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu https://www.google.com/maps/@53.3495684,-6.2480147,3a,75y,98.01h,93.25t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s3utum95jWPSMu-iI_MemwQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3D3utum95jWPSMu-iI_MemwQ%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D112.91%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu https://www.google.com/maps/@53.3474333,-6.237978,3a,75y,246.46h,92.49t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sUfFNkfYGZpP3UxcxXY18Kw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DUfFNkfYGZpP3UxcxXY18Kw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D73.09707%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu
  14. Respectfully, I disagree. I get your point, and I'm not sure I'm honestly a fan of the new design... but the most densely populated "nice" cities I've been to (Boston, Charleston, Copenhagen, Milan) are FILLED with buildings less than 8 stories. The density lends itself to a big city vibe. The Baldwin Wallace campus, placed on 6 acres downtown, would feel entirely different than it does in Berea.
  15. Wowowowowow... just read those comments. People say "density" as if it was a four letter word.
  16. I have a friend of mine who's now an officer in the Navy... I'm sure this is unrelated, but he's heard that a few NEO ports are being considered as a designated naval repair port. I can't really speak to the military rationale, but apparently the consideration is due to the 1) relative safety of the waters, 2) ease of access, and 3) costs of East coast ports
  17. I don't want to be a naysayer, and I'm really happy they found a good business to occupy the space. But my gut is telling me to be skeptical of a third Mexican restaurant within a half mile and 5th LA restaurant in the neighborhood generally. Again, I hope I'm wrong and this is still a very positive development.
  18. I certainly hope so. That place is a neighborhood staple and truly is one of the few retail places in the neighborhood that serves every demographic
  19. Did anyone else notice that All Things for You on Lorain appears to be closed? We’d go in there all the time and there were always people in there. Anyone have an idea what happened?
  20. While we have a solid culinary scene, I still think we have a lot of space of more restaurants.

REALLY weird game. I'll type something up when I have time, but I think people are reading a little too much into the 38 points - but it was definitely our worst team defensive performance.
  22. I'd get that on a 2 lane street, but both Detroit and Lorain also have turning lanes for most of the roadway
  23. The Van Sweringen brothers were, to say the least, overleveraged on speculative railway stocks... and they saw their own fortunes and the fortunes of several bankers be destroyed as a result.
  24. I love this, but I did a quick count on my commute home on Detroit last night, and all but 3 of the "barriers" are either gone or destroyed already. We've gotta get something that won't be destroyed by plows or bad drivers.
