  1. I’m biased but these plans should just be incorporated with Ignatius’ plans to build an on campus stadium. Location is second to none in the city
  2. Yep - I said this the other day... If this Amendment passes, which I hope it does, it will throw some mud on the face of dems who have been whining for the last 15 years... There are likely more democrats/left leaning individuals in Ohio overall - The 3 Cs just don't show up to vote - Cleveland being especially abysmal. People are clearly energized about this vote in a way seldom seen in Ohio politics - if it passes - no more whining re: statewide seats lol.

I appreciate the suggestion, and I'll consider it. However, I did have a blog, briefly, after post-grad and during the beginning of law school (2013-2015)... It stopped being fun, however. The cherry on top was the time I had a disgruntled Browns fan threaten to kill me and my family because I pointed out that the Bengals were running Cover 4 on a play, and Andrew Hawkins made a mistake by not running a dig underneath Miles Austin's post.
  4. @KJPneither party wants to talk about controlling spending and it's flat out dangerous... Dems can't possibly ever consider rolling back entitlements and the GOP doesn't know what it can or can't advocate for until Trump decides what they're allowed to say $55 billion in uncollected taxes last year doesn't help either
  5. Abortion still irks me, and makes me immensely sad. Personally, I think it should always be a last resort. But I'm voting yes because this is a clear cut way to codify that the government has no say in that decision.
  6. Conservative voting yes. Some personal context... My wife and I had a miscarriage prior to Roe v. Wade being overturned.... Our second shot was after it was overturned.... Nothing will anger you quite like a doctor sitting with your wife and advising her of doctor's she could recommend in Western New York or Michigan if we had similar complications... Fortunately, we now have a healthy 9 month old... but the government has absolutely no right limiting options to women.

I was at Stone Mad Saturday night and a 9ers fan was telling me how they were FLOORED that they didn't pass a single homeless person on their way there from their AirBNB on 57th.

Okay, first things first, the defense was incredible yet again - and the crazy thing is, I still don't think the defense played its best game... Defense - Myles is unbelievable. I know people talk about TJ Watt as his direct comparison, but that's silly. Myles doesn't have to line up in a WIIIIIDE 9 technique to get leverage, he can be head up on the tackle, still get leverage for his rush and also effectively stop the run. Dude is a generational talent at DE and I'm happy I get to watch him. People can use the "Trent Williams was banged up" cop out if they want, but Myles ate his lunch. And the best part of his game is that he is what we need him to be. He wasn't just a pass rusher yesterday - he occupied doubles, he delayed Jusczyk out of the backfield, he stopped runs, and he freed up JOK and our LBs to do their thing. - Our cornerback room is DEEP. MJ Emerson would be a starter on 15+ NFL teams. - Delpit continues to play well, and he clearly is an instinctual player. That also cost us SF's first TD yesterday when he blew his assignment to cut off CMC, but Grant guessed wrong and CMC trotted into the endzone. - Schwartz has some incredible blitz packages to the boundary, which often eliminates a QBs throwing lanes for "pitch and catch" stick or bench routes (which is what killed us last year) NOW FOR MY FESTIVUS AIRING OF GRIEVANCES... I'VE GOT A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH YOU BROWNS FANS, AND NOW YOU'RE GONNA HEAR ABOUT IT!!!!!! Offense: - Stefanski called an incredible game. And lest we forget he also called an incredibly timed screen to Njoku which was called back by a phantom hold. - I know all of you are experts and could call a better game in your sleep.... but our offense averaged 5.5 yards a play in the second half... against THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ers!! I'm also not sure if you're aware of this... but we did so with our third string QB and Jerome Ford at running back.... I'm also not sure if you knew this or not.... but we also did so without our best offensive lineman.... - I think it's a fair criticism that Stefanski sometimes needs to go Occum's razor with playcalling, as he gets too creative... but his creativity also kept a drive alive for us on 4th down when he spent the first 4 weeks of the season setting up the Harrison Bryant sneak only to call a pitch which took us from 4th and inches to a touchdown. - We also utilized the hell out of pre-snap shifts, which effectively neutralized Bosa. Just about all deep drops that PJ took, he was either rolling out with slide protection or Bosa was chipped or doubled. - I understand that many people think we should've run the ball every play on our last drive, but a roll out right and a completion effectively ends the game... PJ Walker should've slid if someone wasn't wide open. And I'm sure Stefanski communicated that in the headset but it wasn't executed. - Regardless, Kyle Shanahan is considered the best play caller in the NFL... and he called 3 consecutive pass plays with 3 minutes left and a 1 point lead. There are often considerations for a play call (i.e. the Browns play a ton of 2 man in the 4th quarter and two of SF's plays were 2 beaters) that are based on metrics unseen to most fans. I'm at this weird place where I love the Browns with every cell in my body, but have a near equal loathing for our fan base. The Browns are 3-2 with only one bad loss - and that team is also 3-2..... I think a certain segment of Browns fans are just flat out angry with their personal lives, and for most of their life they've had the Browns to point at and say "hey, at least I'm not as bad as them"... and for some reason the Browns winning games in the National Football League makes those people angry.

I’ll definitely be on today… I’ve got some venom to spit at you Stefanski haters
  10. I think this is going to end up being my favorite building downtown
  11. No, you're wrong. The debate is rectangular.
  12. Like @KJP said, they definitely do. I can say that I know a lot of UOers are thought of as backseat driving NIMBYs who have no concept of the processes, financing, etc associated with development (which is sometimes true).
  13. Interestingly enough, I was talking to a family friend that runs a farm stand on the weekends near their front yard in an inner ring suburb. They grow about 1.1 acres of crops a year and supplement their family income by about $15-$25k depending on the year just from their crops. They also sell things from local gardens and take 20%.
  14. I think it will be a bit of a tipping point for the near west side. There's loads of homes in the $700k - $950k range, but few that could sell for that price point. I also know some of the other individuals who are buying the adjacent parcels and I expect them to have very expensive homes as well. 2024 might be the time when > $1 million becomes normal in Ohio City and DS.
  15. Easy, inexpensive, and a drastic difference

I have to say - this is sometimes unavoidable. I know our medical staff is world-class, but sometimes sports injuries only reveal themselves when injuries that involved swelling (like a bruise) subside.
  17. I grew up in Parma Heights and went to grade school across the street at Holy Family. That menu singlehandedly got me through law school lol
  18. My wife's vote was the South Side Diner in Parma. I have a tie between Steve's and Gus' in Old Brooklyn (both places now know my name, my daughter's name, and my order) lol
  19. Are they really?? That surprises me
  20. I heard the court mandated a sale as a result of the infighting. In short, the current owner inherited it somewhat unexpectedly, and the individual who believed she'd be controlling owner hasn't had a great relationship with the new owner.
  21. There is some infighting… but the business itself isn’t going anywhere from my understanding
  22. HA! I was literally just going to pull up this pic and make this exact comment. There are Federalist homes all through Ohio City - and a couple in extreme disarray south of Lorain as well. I get the point though, the style really only exists in antebellum homes, which limits you to 4-5 blocks in OC
  23. I love the Federalist style. It's not mine, but I walk the pup by it every morning. The side porch is thoughtful, and I love the brickwork. My wife and I always say it's the one house in Ohio City we'd break the bank for if it ever came on the market (though that analysis may change with a full home in our backyard) lol.
  24. I know I've posted angrily about him in the past but hooooo boy... The guy that owns the used car lot at 49th and Detroit, as well as the Big Egg parcel at 52nd and Detroit and some lots near 50th and Detroit has backed out of a number of sales to developers, each time saying to himself "I could get more" shortly after they come to an agreement. A friend of mine informs me that his 2 biggest parcels were initially listed for $1 million and $1.2 million, respectively, since 2019. He received offers on both properties back then. He's since raised the price a couple of times and received reasonable offers, backing out for the reasons stated above. The two parcels are currently listed for $3 million and $3.6 million respectively. How are some people so blissfully unaware that they're their own worst enemy?????
