  1. Yeah... BUT THE KINDA PEOPLE THAT EAT SOUL FOOD!??! NOOOOOOO
  2. Lol thanks. She's at 9 weeks and sleeping in 2.5 hour chunks
  3. I messaged @zbaris87about my anecdote... but my wife and I tried to buy a couple parcels from the owner of some of the lots. We offered cash, about 5% below his asking price.... Because we came in so close to ask, he convinced himself it was worth more and his counteroffer was 15% ABOVE his asking price. Dude is an idiot - but because he bought early in the neighborhood (and props to him) he thinks he's a visionary. It's extremely frustrating to live in an area constantly being improved and then the dude refuses to let your nearest intersection thrive. He's also a bit of a racist... I asked him why nothing was going into the Big Egg, and he told me "because the only type of people inquiring about it all want to open soul food restaurants."
  4. Thanks everyone - but with the newborn and my parents coming down for dinner I don't think I'll be able to make it
  5. University Circle feels like no where else in Ohio. It's tough to articulate, but it's continuously more impressive.
  6. I took my friends from Atlanta there last summer - they spent the rest of their time there Googling "are the Great Lakes actually seas?"
  7. Hey - I had my sidewalks torn out and repaved 6 times in 5 months last summer, so it's possible. Peak Cleveland city govt.
  8. Ha - I live on 50th and have offered to buy parcels from Sam several times, only to have him come back with an inflated offer days later. Guy's his own worst enemy but his own hero in his eyes lol
  9. @KJP Love this! .... but how many burner emails did UOers utilize for this???? 😆
  10. Lol yeah he was fed a line about why it was bad from TG and his son... and then he got in contact with the city annnnnnnnnnnd it's gone

Awesome - shouldn't be more than 2-3 at most. I really appreciate it!
  12. To be frank - his primary concern is working with firemen, police, and small businesses. Usually if he takes up a cause outside of that purview it's as a favor. And I mean it in the sense that he's a good father and good guy overall. At the end of the day, I promise you he won't hold this up as long as the city meets with him (pie me in the face if I'm wrong lol). Having said that, I don't love that he carriers water for the biggest tool in Cuyahoga County
  13. This is actually, unfortunately, true. I know Tom and his family, and he's a good guy an is in politics for the right reasons. However, every time he says something stupid like this, it always has one source - and @KJPnailed it here.

Bumping this - as I'd really like to do this for my nephew if possible. If it's a heavy lift, just let me know and I'll figure something else out. Thank you!
  15. Yes - the one in Twinsburg is excellent - but obviously tough to get to. It offers indoor virtual golfing along with a full cocktail bar and lounge with real offerings. The food is good - obviously not Acqua di Luca but certainly not Applebees. It will be in direct competition with a similar venue in Cleveland Hts.

Hi Everyone - I have a unique request. My 9 year old nephew is "surprising" me and writing a book about me for my birthday. I guess the premise of the story is that I take a trip to Switzerland (which I'm doing next year). My sister-in-law asked if I knew anyone that could photoshop pictures of me in front of landmarks (i.e. Lake Geneva, the Matterhorn, etc.) so she could add them to the book. Would anyone be able to help me out? Thanks!
  17. WOAHHHH THIS IS BIG TIME. Thank you!

  19. And looks like Oswego can only accommodate one ship at a time
  20. From my understanding, Cleveland is the only deep water port on the Great Lakes, and it's likely to stay that way for at least the next decades. Certain depths are required for larger container ships, so we have a significant advantage over Buffalo, Chicago, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Duluth
  21. Correct me if I'm wrong though - these hotels usually have a "type" though, right? A buddy of mine is on Independence PD and he always told me anything less than $100/night is usually considered a risk, and once you go beyond that in "quality" things subside pretty rapidly. Might be better for the crime discussion, but either way...
  22. Brecksville residents express concerns about crime, flooding, bright lights that may result from Valor Acres Sounds about white
  23. I watched a police chase on Franklin yesterday... the fleeing car ran over two roundabouts at high speeds, nearly hitting other cars, before the police cruiser gave up and bailed. It went from about 54th to 58th St, heading west. Was absolutely wild.
