Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
It would be a cost that wouldn't allow us to achieve the ultimate end goal of enclosing the stadium (Final 4s,Super Bowls, etc)

Cedar Point
YABO713 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI was there that day - it was bad. Nonetheless, more practically, it just isn't a good ride. Cedar Point's coasters are usually imaginative - this was just like getting shot out of a cannon that was going to return you to the barrel on 1/3 of attempts.

Electric Cars
Some of my MAGA lite friends are at an awkward crossroads between continuing to fellate Elon for everything he does and calling anyone driving an electric car a soy boy

Barring injury - the Cavs are title contenders through 2025.

That would be a fun theory - but Tito actually advocated for the name change over the last 2-3 seasons.

Of all the bad takes you made - this one is worst. Tribe are averaging 17,000 per game - not great. But since August 1, most night games have drawn 22,000+, with a handful drawing over 30,000.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
And people get mad when we don't retain our best players - but they're always replaced - if not individually, at least in aggregate.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
It's weird - the Guardians are BY FAR Cleveland's most successful franchise since in the last 30 years, winning % wise, and their management is also most hated by the fans. Which is really par for the course with the intelligence of most Cleveland sports fans.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
This has a lot to do with the things you said than - think Occam's Razor here and the answer is simple: The best teams in Indians history were in town, in a brand new ballpark, at a time when the Browns did not exist. There ya have it.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
Maybe not the right thread for this - but I don't understand how a Dem can't win by just pumping up turnout in the major metros.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
I've gotta say, it's refreshing to see that the Democratic Party allows room for dissenting opinions without threatening committee assignments. Ryan's pushback on this will help him with recovering MAGA looking for an alternative to Vance.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
FWIW, I have absolutely no panic in me after the preseason. We didn't start our 5 best defensive players this weekend, and we didn't running a single offense to defense swing with more than 18 of our 22 starters at any single point. That matters. The only thing that I'm worried about at this point is the center. He's been AWFUL and cannot combo block to save his life. Brissett will keep us in games, but it will absolutely be up to our defense and special teams to supplement some points.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I agree with you, but it's funny - imo low rise density builds volume to a skyline pretty well also.

Cleveland SC Soccer
Somehow we all missed this... https://www.clevescene.com/news/mls-officials-made-a-site-visit-to-cleveland-about-possible-expansion-team-in-development-league-as-local-group-pushes-for-soccer-39583906

Off topic - but I'll stop at this one. I saw tower cranes being used to build 4 and 6 story buildings when I was in Nashville

Cleveland: Zoning Discussion
Yes - except in this situation, these homes are not eligible to rent, due to HOA restrictions

Cleveland: Zoning Discussion
I'm not certain this is the correct thread, but I think it is.... Nonetheless, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that a home owned by your LLC cannot be your primary residence, correct? Because there's a local developer that lives full time in a home owned by his development's LLC

This is close to Gateway ... but did anyone else notice that the Rosetta Building (Holiday Inn) is actively being converted to condos?

FWIW - I think a long (10+) suspension was included in the Haslam's calculus for signing him.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
Kansas is a fine comparison - but a referendum isn't the same as electing a candidate. Unfortunately, for the worse, our politics have changed drastically since 2016 - I don't think any of the comparisons are fair, save Sherrod in 2018. And to your point, Sherrod is pretty left leaning - but he also is calculated in how he communicates and identifies with blue collar voters, particularly white blue collar voters. Tim Ryan and him are both popular in Mahoning and SEO as Democrats - and that's incredibly hard to do in 2022.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
I have friends saying the same thing as you... Ryan is masterfully gathering voters in Ohio. I say this with all sincerity, but I think he's run the best statewide campaign I've ever seen from either party. He could be a purist, sure, and maybe he'd be right to do so. But this is where Democrats get in their own way. Is the purpose of Ryan's campaign to win Ohio, or is it to stick up to false equivalencies. Again, to paraphrase Lincoln - "a compass will direct you true north, but it has no advice on navigating the swamps and chasms you'll encounter along the way. If you trudge ahead towards your true north, heedless of obstacles, only to die in a swamp - then what's the use of knowing true north?" I'm telling you this as a conservative who's going to vote for him. He's absolutely killing it.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
If I'm the NFLPA, I'm taking this to Federal Court and asking for discovery on each investigation into Robert Kraft, Jerry Jones, Jim Irsay, etc etc, even predating the CBA. Go to the rack for an unequal enforcement claim. The suspension will be stayed during that process FWIW.

Agreed - the years we actually have a shot, the front office acts. I.e. Andrew Miller and Josh Donaldson

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Tbh @KJPI'm skeptical. Clevelanders love to talk about moving the Justice Center so much that I don't think they'd ever rob themselves of their favorite pastime. On a serious note, it's BADLY needed.
