The pending case is one of the 5 that was considered, from my understanding.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
This doesn't need to turn into the jurisprudence forum - but that's not unusual in these cases. Likely the NFL thought that the other cases, when included in aggregate actually hurt their case against Watson.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I get your point - and I think we probably align on most basic assumptions about this case... But maybe our initial reactions weren't supported by the facts available. Is it possible that Deshaun Watson got lucky there wasn't more evidence available? Absolutely. It's also possible that there were substantial mitigating factors that we weren't privy to - and for good reason - as the publication of the same may be extremely embarrassing to some accusers.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Also - I swung by training camp with a client this weekend, and for people saying the Browns were hemorrhaging fans - I've never seen a more positive reception to a new player than the one Deshaun Watson received.

This appeal is purely for optics. I'm not sure how Goodell, or an appointed NFL attorney, could be better suited to assess a penalty than a universally respected former Federal judge.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The thing I'm most excited about for today, regardless of the outcome, is watching half of the people I know pretend to know more about the facts of the case and the application of law than Sue Robinson

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
At risk of derailing the thread and absconding my mod duties - in short, local business folks had pitched Pixar with opening a sizable operational presence in Cleveland. It got far enough along that some Pixar execs came out to look at sites and speak with officials. Jackson no-showed the meeting. .... Annnnnnd back to Bibb - I'm glad that doesn't seem to be his MO.

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Bright contrast from the infamous Pixar story under Mayor Jackson lol

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
This is really an opportunity to give Ohio City its own little downtown, especially if they can get substantial retail development on Gehring.

Wheeling - July 2020
Those homes are stunning. I'd love to take a stroll on those sidewalks in 1920s Wheeling

I'd love it - but I don't think Cliffs needs it at this time, maybe Ken can correct me

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The Philadelphia 76ers. 6ers are self-financing a new arena in Center City. The Browns lobbyists were told explicitly, based on that news, that they would need some more skin in the game for a brand new stadium - so it looks like the plan is to explore renovation opportunities, which include a retractable roof from what I've heard.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The Browns renovation plans won't displace them, is what I'm getting at.

The Chargers played in a stadium of 26,000 at first in LA. The Browns could make InfoCision work, as there's room for additional seating. But it aint gonna happen.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Yeah - I hate Browns fans sometimes lol. Had to stay off twitter last night haha. We just signed a former first round pick, who will join the team only to be a backup for less than half the season, and people are laughing at it?

Cuyahoga Valley National Park
I was curious about the same, and followed up with a friend of mine at the Metroparks. They explored the idea right at the outset of the pandemic, as a "close-to-home escape" for families in quarantine. The respective city councils all wouldn't even have the discussion - all thought campsites would inevitably bring vagrants, drug users, etc. etc. It's a shame

Bikes are substantially more expensive than cars and an annual RTA pass. Everyone knows that.

Vision Zero
I went to the kind of cocktail party EVERYONE universally loathes this weekend... In a moment of brief hope, I had a discussion with a lady in her 50s about how excited we both were about the potential for reorganizing Detroit and some other roads and providing bike only lanes. We were interrupted by a young lady slightly younger than me (probably 28) who told us that bike lanes are a form of "transportation privilege" and would hurt marginalized communities. If there was a rooftop patio I would've jumped.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
As a quick anecdote - twice in the last month, I walked to the top of my street to wait for the 26, and as its ETA kept getting pushed further back, I ended up having to drive in to the office to make a meeting.

Hey Ken - I had family members that went to the continent after our trip to Europe... some considerations... Do NOT fly through any UK airports - there's about a 40% chance your connection will get canceled right now. Extend that rule to Canada and Ireland as well, because both countries are OVERWHELMED right now. Right now, flights to Brussels are manageable ($818 CLE to Brussels - and that's the best you'll find right now. And that might make for a fun, manageable train ride to Germany versus flying into Spain or Portugal - both of which also have (relatively) affordable fares right now.

Coincidentally, my great grandfather was born on an island in Clew Bay. He and 12 siblings, along with 2 parents, lived in an 800 square foot, one room farm house. Two other families were on the island as well - they all shared the 40 acres. My grandfather and 11 siblings emigrated to the US (9 ended up in Cleveland, 1 in NY, 1 in Chicago) - 1 stayed in Ireland. The two other families on the island also saw most of their kids emigrate... All three families ended up with homes on W 61st St one generation later.
