The drivers in ________ city SUCK!
Lol I swear it's only that neighborhood. They're reckless in their numerous moving violations, but once within the roadway proceed to go 8-10 MPH under the speed limit

I'd like to nominate the residents of Clark Fulton as the worst drivers in America.

From my experience, a stone wall on a cliff is a luxury in Europe. In Tuscany, it was just a sheer drop lol

Unfortunately, we lost our first pregnancy and didn't end up going. However, my friend still went and met his sister over there. They did Geneva --> Chamonix -->Zermatt --> Milan over the span of 8 days. I was shocked at how affordable it was. They booked all BNBs (save Milan) in the town centers.

Haha it's in Athlone, and coincidentally, we're stopping there on Saturday. I'll be sure to take a pic for you. As an aside, Athlone is a pretty important location for Irish Republicanism.

My family is 100% Irish, so I grew up eating heavy beefs / potato combinations. It doesn't bother me much haha. But that's actually good to know. My dad had to have part of his tongue replaced due to cancer last year, so softer foods - while not necessary - are usually easier for him

I leave for Ireland Thursday night with my dad (just in time for Covid testing restrictions to be rolled back 😊) - and my flights are Lufthansa - operated by Air Canada. Thus far Lufthansa has been awful - I couldn’t get a boarding code, and it took 6 hours aggregate of being on hold before getting through to someone. Im downloading my (boomer) dad’s boarding pass for him and will be with him. Is there anything I may be forgetting or should know in advance? Ive been to Europe before, but my wife is the brains of our travel operation - and I want to make sure I have everything at the ready for both my dad and I. Ive got: - Scans of both passports - Outlet converters - $1,000 cash ($500 per person) to be converted in Dublin - Both boarding numbers (loaded my dad’s info on his Lufthansa app) Thanks everyone - in addition to having to pack enough clothes for all 4 seasons, it’s been tough making sure I’ve got everything we both need

From my understanding, that contract is voided upon certain triggers. The "guaranteed" money only applies insofar as he is eligible to be on an NFL roster.

Idk if you’re referring to me, but I’m not defending him. I’m just pointing out that there are very real holes in most of these allegations. Imo this suit would’ve been much stronger with 5-6 women

Cleveland Browns Discussion
No I agree and get what you're saying. My gut tells me at least 5-6 of these girls experienced unwelcome sexual contact. My gut also tells me that the Plaintiff's attorneys were very aggressive in recruiting some of the other women, and convinced them to join. But my gut isn't a reliable metric lol.

In some cases, sure. But it’s not particularly hard to get an indictment on, and I think that’s a key distinction. Moreover, it’s usually the type of charge where a lesser-included charge, ie gross sexual imposition or something similar can still be prosecuted, even if it falls short of assault. it’s tough, regardless

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'd ask everyone to at least consider this... I can't consider a case I've ever worked on or one I've heard of where there are this many plaintiffs and no substantial evidence of guilt. At a certain point, it starts to look bad when plaintiffs join without introducing material evidence. Again, I don't consider Deshaun Watson's conduct admirable, moral, or right... and he is very likely a creep that tried to use his fame for sexual favors. But none of the evidence presented so far is enough to strip him of his ability to play in the NFL, imo, much less restrict his liberty.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Yeah - this is my point @bumsquare - this conduct CLEARLY constitutes sexual assault under Texas law. Normally testimony of this kind of conduct alone would be enough to get an indictment. That's why I think there has to be some mitigating evidence to show this conduct didn't occur. And if this hasn't been referred for criminal prosecution, the Buzbee should be ashamed, morally and as an attorney, as Watson should definitely be indicted and this would be the perfect basis for a stronger civil case.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I don't usually agree with Peter Pattakos on much - but my first thought when Buzbee announced the new claim and that the Texans would be name was "wowwwww they're grasping now." (I sent that exact text to someone after reading the allegation). For one, from my understanding, this woman's testimony was submitted to the grand jury, and her allegations constitutes blatant sexual assault in Texas. So there must have been substantial mitigating evidence presented by the Plaintiff's attorneys which show that it was highly unlikely that the alleged conduct occurred. If I'm wrong and this wasn't presented, then Buzbee looks like a scum bag for not referring this criminally, because again, this conduct, if true, is CLEARLY sexual assault. Moreover, a criminal conviction lays the foundation for a civil settlement. A criminal referral would've bolstered the Plaintiff's case here substantially. Finally, naming the Texans, imo, shows that plaintiff's counsel thinks they are losing the battle and want to add another party with deeper pockets. In this instance, the Texans are going to be 10x more likely to settle than Deshaun. It's complicated and honestly just sickening all around. But I've talked to a couple people in the league that think Watson is getting dragged unnecessarily.

I understand why you think that, but I think you're wrong in your assessment here. The design will allow for heavy usage areas at multiple levels along the slope.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Update - I had a similar experience twice in my last 2 bike commutes downtown. One with a bus actually coming within arm distance of me. So, I'm now taking Clinton to 28th, then church to 25th and going over the bridge. Detroit is TOUGH for a cyclist in rush hour. Sadly, it might be out most biker-friendly artery into downtown.

Fixed that for you @KJP I kid you not, I watched a 50+ year old man do kartwheels down the side walk in front of Linda's, then double back and karate kick a grocery bag out of a woman's hands as she walked out.

Cars & Vehicles Discussion (History, etc)
I know I'll be called ableist or something for saying this - but we should prioritize bike infrastructure within urban areas before anything else, for two reasons: 1. Few people want to say this - but Americans are way too soft, literally. Over a third of serious health insurance claims are obesity related. If we make riding a bike as easy and safe as riding a bus or in a car within urban areas, it will have a positive overall impact on heart health and overall well being. This is especially true for low income individuals who often can't afford more nutritious food, a gym pass, et al. 2. It's simply more efficient. It takes me 9 minutes on average to bike to work from my house. It takes me 9 minutes to drive (Shoreway to W.3rd to Key Garage), and it takes me 14 minutes on the 26/26A. I've done each 5+ times this summer and kept a tally for this exact purpose. Beyond that, when I park at the Key Garage, I'm paying $16 for the day - the bus is $5 for a day pass, and the bike rack at Medical Mart is free. Make bike infrastructure, and it will have staggering downstream affects.
