Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I normally take the 26 to work in the morning, as it's only about 2 miles to my office from my house. However, on this glorious morning, I decided to take my bike to work. .... My own 26 almost ran me over 4-5 different times on the commute. Holy hell do we need protected bike lanes.

Agreed - but to that point - the Vibe Garden still has a very "temporary" appearance. I'd love for some more permanent and welcoming aesthetics to be added. First off by removing the chain link lol

Yeah, there are probably 5 signs within .75 miles

There was also a grievance related to the use of the phrase "easy living" when people in the surrounding neighborhoods still experience poverty. TBH, I think the banner would've been better received with the NIMBY approved language "INTRO: an adequate place to dwell at a marked up price adjacent to some children living below the poverty line."

Hahaha so true @E Rocc

Go to the Intro projects facebook page and look at the complaints on there about the signage. One person thought the sign boasting "Sick Views" was insensitive to the patients at Metro who could see the project. True story. NIMBYs are another being unto themselves

Anyone want to explain this mapping anomaly to me? https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4468673,-81.7444897,3a,19.6y,150.16h,91t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1slm3dqr1rDFldIYd8xGpdeA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

2022 U.S. Senate Race
If you go to SEO and even some people in SWO (Butler County), they don't really like Vance. I have a buddy that helps with the Jefferson County GOP, and he said SEO would've done better with Gibbons or Mandel. Vance's roots, both in Eastern Kentucky and SWO, are viewed by many as something he tries to exploit, rather than as something he's proud of. The irony is, Ryan will do better in Appalachian Ohio than any other Dem in the state, Sherrod Brown included. I think Ryan wins handily (2-4%), believe it or not. But I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again.

This is interesting. I wonder what port they'd "ferry to"? There really aren't any substantial Canadian ports right on Lake Erie.

Large is an understatement - I just found out that the Parma/Seven Hills area has the largest concentration of Ukrainians outside of NY and Chicago in the country

2022 U.S. Senate Race
Interestingly enough - I have a laundry list of friends who would've lined up to vote for Dolan and even Gibbons. They're all staying home in the fall

2022 U.S. Senate Race
This stuff will be particularly troublesome, as I hear Pukita may run in the general as well. He's going to scrape some FAR right vote from Vance, if so.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
IMO - Tim Ryan is the only Dem that could win a statewide election against a Vance, so it's a good thing he's running. He's well liked in the Steel Valleys - or at least not hated - and he will definitely carry the 3 Cs and Akron. I actually think it will be tough for Vance to beat him, absent another complete 180 where he turns back into a reasonable Republican. I think it will be really hard for Vance to win the suburban vote by a big enough margin. Places like Strongsville and Westlake (and by transitive property I assume the same is true for Hilliard and Blue Ash) really liked Dolan - that was nearly all of his support. I don't think Vance can win the state with just the exurbs and rural portions.

2022 Ohio Gubernatorial Election
I requested a Republican ballot at Franklin Circle and the very nice poll worker briefly looked at me like I asked for a million dollars.

2022 Ohio Gubernatorial Election
The really weird thing for me is how people act like we were all actively monitored by police during lockdown. I still went to the grocery store, I still took my dog on walks - it sucked, no doubt... but it uhhhh .... it wasn't Birkenau

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Practically speaking, I think you're right. Having said that - I think this ends poorly. I could definitely see a parent taking matters into their own hands and things escalating very quickly. They shut down the boardwalk in the flats last year for almost 45 minutes, and when things finally had de-escalated, a patron had left for his apartment to "go get his gun" - I hear that directly from his mouth while we sat outside at Beerhead.

With a little more levity... they tried to take over W 25th on a night last summer, and two guys wiped out on their dirt bikes doing wheelies at about 25-30 MPH. Everyone on the street at the time cheered, loudly, when they fell. They got embarrassed and left lol.

Vote in the GOP primary.... My god...- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
This is the same energy as the Magnificat moms that would drop girls off at my house in high school and tell them to stay in pairs because they're in ....... Parma Heights. Having said that. We have DEFINITELY tolerated way too much BS from the motorbike/ATV crowd over the last two years. I honestly dk what we can do to change it though, absent committing a LOT of police personnel to monitoring, which may be tough.- 2022 U.S. Senate Race
A). You're right - it shifts us one step closer to getting back to "we disagree on politics, so what"... B) Nina Turner has more visibility, but she did last time too and got crushed. I don't see this being close.- 2022 U.S. Senate Race
I don't want to get overly excited - but Matt Dolan has a decent chance at a plurality win here. - 2022 U.S. Senate Race
