  1. ^Bumping this because I'm desperate and posted it at a bad time last night. Sorry Mods :(

Even if I concede that's true to a degree... the Browns never even proposed a trade. The rumor re: Houston pre-approving trade proposals isn't true.

I've already said what I said above, so I won't repeat it here. And let me preface this by saying, it's overwhelmingly likely that Deshaun Watson engaged in sexually abusive conduct. It's also overwhelmingly likely that the Browns will not sign him. Having said that, I have two points: 1. As an attorney, I've seen plaintiff's attorneys recruit classes of over 50 individuals with meritless claims, especially in instances when there are deep pockets involved. One of which actually resulted in the attorney retiring before being disbarred. Again, it's overwhelmingly likely that these women are not lying. 2. If non-public information is being offered in these meetings, it would be malpractice of the Browns not to go to Houston. Either we believe in due process, or we don't. The fact of the matter is, there's a pretty low bar for grand juries to indict, and this matter was presented to a grand jury and no indictment was made. I know the civil claims still exist, but if allegations alone are enough to have someone barred for life from their career, then I'm not sure we'll ever disagree on this point. Again - the overwhelming likelihood is that Deshaun Watson was at best creepy and at worst a sexual predator. But if you're against the Browns doing their due diligence because of accusations, regardless of the size of the class, then due process ain't your homie.
  5. Okay UO family - I need a HUGE favor. Does anyone know the owner of or any former employees at Jack Flaps (either location) that you'd be willing to put me in contact with? In short, my wife and I used to meet there every Tuesday when I was in law school and she was working on the other side of downtown. We'd each get an order of pancakes every time. It was recently our third anniversary, and we both lamented that Jack Flaps is no longer. I'd love to be able to give her a belated gift of the aroma of Jack Flaps pancakes filling up our house one Sunday morning. Since the restaurant is no longer in operation, I hope the recipe isn't a highly guarded secret anymore! If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Not trying to be a d-bag... But this isn't what the media is making it out to be. The Browns are there for due diligence purposes. I'm friends with someone who went to Houston today for these purposes and spoke with him about it. The meetings with Watson include a full disclosure of non-public material. Andrew Berry, in particular, is a man of substantial moral character - and one of the most genuine human beings you could ever come across. He's also an NFL GM. He's down there to see if there's any possible way that those two things can be synergistic if Watson is viable. He's doing his job. In order for this to get even close to the point of a concrete proposal, Berry would need to see non-public evidence that clearly absolves Watson of wrongdoing - and I think that's highly unlikely at this point.
  7. The Waverly and Oak development is at ground level! They're really cruising
  8. From the way my dad described it, it was part beach shack, part Sodom and Gommorah
  9. Cool little anecdote, for what it's worth... I was sleeping on my late night flight yesterday, and was awoken by some mild turbulence as we went further into our descent... I looked out the window and saw a skyline that looked nothing like downtown, but was clearly some sort of collection of dense buildings, which appeared to be the central business district of a city I was unfamiliar with... I immediately panicked and thought we'd been forced to land in another city (I convinced myself it was Louisville based upon my previous travels)... But then my moment of panic and despair faded away, as I awoke fully and realized that I was looking at University Circle/Uptown. It was a nerve-wracking, but really cool experience to notice how filled out that area has become. Albeit this was contributed to by my slumber and stupidity
  10. So pumped to get piss drunk and buy some meat, you guys
  11. Does anyone know what's going in the spot at Church and State with the "Let's French" signs?
  12. Came across the video on Youtube randomly. Go to 16:20 - that drive overlooking Ohio City went from zero visible density to a secondary skyline. Pretty cool to see.
  13. I heard about 5 gun shots last night - but I live near Garrett Morgan, so I doubt I would've heard those. Editing this now - as I see it was 3:15pm and not AM
  14. Over $85k in attorney fees -it'll go upwards of $175k if it goes to trial. Then you'll have new lawyers for the eminent domain issue.
  15. lol it would give it all away!
  16. I have a proposed development for this site. And I've been trying to get it in the works for a while now.
  17. So, I was doing my Super Bowl shopping at the WSM when I had a (literal) “Oh sh*t” moment…. And for as much as we pile on the WSM (deservedly so) those were some of the cleanest public bathrooms I’ve ever used. Props to them. They …. saved my ass.
  18. im trying to figure out what a single individual / entity would want all of them for

And many that have very little to do with BLM and defund the police... Rather, some municipalities have always found it a better practice to have an independent arbiter to refer matters for prosecution

I have to say I agree. It certainly comes off as intensely personal. And I’ve seen some WEIRD vitriol on here during the Trump era lol, but this is up there
  21. I'm a little shocked at: 1) The rate of construction of the Waverly & Oak development. It's impressive, especially given the weather; and 2) It looks like they're not going to utilize a crane for this project, which surprised me, given its scale. Can any people more informed about construction/engineering educate me on the advantages / disadvantages of using cranes for developments of this size?
  22. Can we confirm it is, in fact, cold?
  23. Okay guys - not to be overly optimistic here - but I think we're going to dust them. I think the USMNT finally has the talent combined with a massive chip on its shoulder to hit the ground running en route to Qatar
  24. I don't think (and wouldn't want) any substantial financial incentives would be presented to discount airways - with a handful of exceptions (maybe Brussels Air / Ryan Air)
