  1. With Port of Cleveland's recent partnership with Europe, AMS may also make sense.
  2. I'm curious - why is there currently not a ferry service from Cleveland to Ontario (Erieau, Port Stanley, Port Rowan etc). It just seems kind of wild to me that Canada would be a 1.5-2 hour ferry ride away and it isn't even an option. I think obviously we could make an argument that it would be faster to just drive to Windsor via Detroit, but I think this would take off travel time en route to Toronto, no? Additionally, it would make for some cool options other than the Shores and Islands in the summer. I'm sure people have considered it and there's good reasons why this doesn't exist - but I'm just curious.
  3. Saw news of a golf simulator bar opening in FEB - which is excellent news as I desperately try to get my handicap below 10 - then I heard it was being opened by Bobby George... Someone please deny this rumor - even if you're lying to me. I just want to golf

I'm not a fan of Tim Ryan's ... but you've got your head in the sand if you think the guy is a left-winger based upon some primary comments. He's arguably the only candidate at any level that could win the Mahoning Valley and the three C's in the same race.

It's not the Reichstag, you're right. But @E RoccI'm still proudly Conservative and I disagree. While I'd love to see every brick throwing hippy in Portland behind bars, where they belong - you have to recognize the difference in the 2. BLM spiraled out of control following a spate of police killings of black individuals. The ends of these protests were at times horrific, destroying property and lives. However, this frustration spilled from a genuine conviction that blacks are being killed at a disproportionately high rate at the hands of police. The Capitol riots were the result of a lie. A wholly unsubstantiated claim that an election was stolen, with the intent of stopping an election from being certified. Civil unrest and riots happen in democracies - despite how wrong they are. But violence as a means of overturning an election does not. There's a serious difference here at the root of both examples - and it's critical to understand that. Having said that - I will only vote for Matt Dolan out of this current field in OH GOP. For me, saying we need to overturn the last election - which Mandel, Vance, Moreno, Timken (lite) Gibbons (lite) - have all stated is disqualifying for me. I donated to Gibbons - I was let down. I met with Vance and had a long conversation with him about how dangerous MAGAism is for our country in November of 2019 - he is a complete morally bankrupt fraud. I donated to Timken - She folded to Mandel's pressure. Mandel is a complete and utter lunatic who will say anything to rally the furthest edges of the fringes. Matt Dolan is my only option left - and I know I'm not alone. Ohio will have two blue senators come 2022 if Mandel gets the nod. And it's all in the name of "owning the libs" rather than legislating.

  7. Many a classmate getting jumped or robbed en route to their cars on Bridge or Chatham - hard to believe that was barely a decade ago
  8. To be fair, I heard he once tied his tie multiple times in one day, after he realized the knot was crooked. Based on that, it's pretty clear he's a self-absorbed sociopath, obsessed with outward appearance. Pray for our city!
  9. I'm uncertain what you're mad about or think was wrong, so I wouldn't know what to research for you, honestly. It's a pretty weird thing to raise as a legal issue.

Disagree - The NBA is fickle. I agree with you, we're still young and likely have better years ahead of us... but waiting for your core to develop isn't always the best strategy (see Memphis 2012-2015 and Portland 2015-2019). Every once in a while, the core will become the Warriors, but that's an exception to the rule. The Cavs are good enough to win the East now, if they get another PG. This team plays incredible all around basketball, and that will make them REALLY tough in a 7 game series. There's a reason why James Harden can't win in the playoffs with great talent, but Milwaukee, GS, and AZ can
  11. Jon Meacham, imo, has summed up this issue better than anyone I'd ever heard: https://www.yahoo.com/now/historian-jon-meacham-weighs-significance-184359671.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAIyru2P6scpxQ1WXAaYqpEIlCZXfsXq-jE2P8Op-rz1DRqS2FAdFiFfQuM3ygXW_DvETrAF4ufOSev3L6FY_N_vwwc-QmFpcqosbE8vvtkO0ka2kcV1QcsNISqRZB1wKwFfNG9LHuu41I8x30gLC-ApL5fQeodX5TyvLNK7AS9DF

I think Mike Conley might be gettable from Utah - we'll have to deal Sexton and probably a draft pick, though

My wife and I were dropping off food there during a food drive and watched people try to break into our car twice, while we were 50 feet away. It was one of those situations where I wasn't even mad - seeing the condition of the area made me feel that I would've been doing a lot worse for money and food
  14. I may! I'll be downtown (Key Tower), but have a 5:30pm call - depending on the length of the call, I'll walk over

I remember the day this sign was discovered. I was in like 8th grade and they just tore down a bowling alley adjacent to this building. The sign came out in pristine condition - presumably because it hadn't been weathered since the 1930s when the building next door went up and left only and inch or two between the buildings. I was happy that the owner's of the building kept this and even touched up the paint a little. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4068161,-81.734621,3a,45.3y,133.57h,88.45t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sqeMA9GBEs70FEEtvSdTPFg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
  16. .... so that baby referenced in your handle is on his/her 10th or 11th Christmas
  17. I think those three neighborhoods can assuage any pandemic induced fears of "WTH AM I GOING TO DO DOWNTOWN NOW!?" and provide some space for outdoor activity, patios, parks, etc. without a long commute, preserving quick access to downtown, and giving 2-3 walkable commercial districts within a 1 - 1.5 mile walk. I think what we're seeing is a shift in mindset as much as anything. I moved to Ohio City in 2017 and saw families in the neighborhood on occasion, now there are kids everywhere. Development seems to exponentially spur more development in these neighborhoods.
  18. I didn't mean it as a "gotcha" it was more just a commentary on Cleveland Scene's perpetual butt-hurtedness... Scene Bot: "Cleveland Clinic was just named the world's best heart hospital; here are 47 reasons why that's not true." "Cleveland wins the 2021 Tourism Award, here's why it's still a bad place to live." "Ohio City adds another restaurant, clearly in an attempt to displace the 2 homeless people that formerly resided in the basement." Anyways - I'm off topic and digress
  19. "This is clearly a result of the corrupted military-industrial complex perpetuating itself in Cuyahoga County." - Cleveland Scene (probably)

I'm a Baker believed (though not to a fault lol), but I'm starting to question that, honestly. I think he's a top 10-12 QB when healthy, but with the way he plays, injuries are going to come in the NFL. If the Browns pivot at QB at this point, it has to be a veteran (Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, etc.), our team is too talented to start from scratch with a rookie QB. (Mac Jones is an anomaly).

Oh he was awful last night. No defending it. Still doesn't invalidate my thoughts on him generally. We couldn't run block to save our lives. The lack of discipline was atrocious. And we have a QB playing at 50% while the league's most capable backup rides the bench. When he has bad days, it should be called out. Yesterday was a bad day.

This is the play I was referencing. 9 in the box. Stefanski dialed up a BEAUT… and then…

With this roster, you don't unload Baker without someone you KNOW is better already in hand
