Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'd just offer this. The +/- for Baker and Keenum isn't the only consideration for an HC. In college, we had a QB (coincidentally) with a torn labrum that wanted to play, and our HC deferred to the trainer. We started our backup (granted Keenum is infinitely more adept at QB than this kid lol). But our backup played fine, but we lost the game, and everyone of us in the locker room (right or wrong) second guessed the coach's decision afterwards - and it came at a time where we desperately needed a win against a team we could beat. On the whole though, I agree with you

I actually agree with you. I think Keenum gives us a better chance to win than an injured Baker.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
So I can't stand these takes - I'm sorry @Ineffable_Matt, nothing against you at all - I'm just speaking in general. I've been largely avoiding my post-game commentary because I've went into a shell around Browns fans to avoid blowing a gasket. I mean I legitimately saw some fans compare Stefanski to Hue - being completely serious. Here's some facts though: The Ravens beat the Lions with a healthy team on a 66 yard miracle field goal. The Steelers tied the Lions. Browns fans LOVE to complain about wins because we've been conditioned to be miserable. Here's why I get so upset with the anti-Stefanski takes - and I'll start with a disclaimer: the penalties are absolutely, 100% on him. Lack of Team discipline is inexcusable. But if you have a problem with how he calls plays overall, I'm sorry but it shows a lack of understanding about the game... Here's the thing - Baker gets two plays called to the huddle, beyond that, he has an option to change the side of the field to which the play is going (Peyton famously using his "Omaha" calls). Pre-snap analysis isn't really one of Baker's strengths yet, though. And teams have started to put 7-8 in the box against us with Baker's injury to make him throw the ball deep. In those situations, you either: 1) Cannot run the ball, or 2) need to make sure the defense allocates less players to the side of the field where you can get "hat on hat" blockers. Stefanski is a genius in this regard, and yesterday, we were able to run successfully with the Lions stacking the box because Stefanski utilized the HELL out of pre-snap shifts, and "zip" "zap" and "yo-yo" motions. This gives Baker a cheat sheet to see who will be aligned where at the snap (i.e. if Njoku shifts from left to right, and he's followed by his LB or Safety, Baker knows there's man under and can divide the field and get his headcount accordingly). Stefanski's scheme SPOON FEEDS assignments to Tretter and Baker - and he's better at it than any other coach in the league other than maybe Sean McVay, Kingsbury, or Shanahan. Here's the other thing, we can take 9 guys out of the box (even when our QB is struggling) by utilizing screens and play action - and Stefanski is, bar none, better at that than any other coach in the NFL. I was sitting at the game watching yesterday on Baker's pick and my dad and I were talking about how the Lions had 8 in the box in response to our 12 personnel package - that very play, Stefanski dials up a play action pass to a WIDE OPEN Jarvis Landry behind the boundary safety on a 12 yard dig, and Baker just sailed it (and this isn't a blame Baker fest, I still like the guy - but what happened happened). Is Stefanski a perfect play caller? No, absolutely not. Does he miss on third downs sometimes? Absolutely. Is he "in over his head" or "coaching out of his butt"? HELLLLLL NO. Just think about this for a second. We had our best receiver walking on one leg. Our best QB with multiple injuries and having some obvious trouble throwing the ball. Our number 2 receiver out with an injury. The Lions were able to put 7-9 in the box in a LOT of situations, and we still were able to run the ball for a win. In the National Football League. The Stefanski hate is unwarranted and, in most situations, comes from an overall lack of understanding of the game, imo. Again, PLENTY of room to improve on his end, though, especially with penalties and fourth down calls.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I heard it was the Ohio City block club complaining about respecting the asphalt aesthetic of the neighborhood. But in all seriousness - people will find ANYTHING to be angry about

Not sure it'll be ready at SHW by then, even if they started next week - right?

Always funny to me when Cleveland Scene & Co. acts like Cleveland city government just bends to corporate interests and is some well-oiled machine for them.... bruh...

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
I'm not sure of a single instance where doing the right thing has resulted in the death of an unarmed civilian - but okay. As an aside, I know Ohio City Inc has taken matters into its own hands to a degree. They increased the presence of cameras substantially in the area, and I happen to know that these cameras have assisted police in solving a large amount of opportunity crime recently. It's not the answer to everything, but it's a nice start. Additionally, I feel like 50+% of violent crime in the neighborhood happens within a quarter mile of Linda's Superette. Absolutely zero statistics to back that up, but I always turn right instead of waiting at that light when its dark out, because it almost always feels sketchy

I think one light rail running near west, and one light rail running near east, both from downtown, would do absolute wonders for connectivity

Realistically, could we use $50million of the Federal money to a small, light rail expansion (hypothetically let's say it went from W 65th to Playhouse Square)

I can't help but think a light rail system from 117th to University Circle would be perfect. God knows Superior doesn't need all those lanes.

I do - but today was actually my first time using the app, so I'll have to better familiarize myself with it. Thanks!

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Alright folks, it's the Festivus airing of grievances: I live in Ohio City, so I've been trying to take the bus into work more often (and even on local trips, i.e. Lucky's Market, Little Italy, etc.) and I've been doing pretty well since the middle of October, but I'm really starting to lose it over timing issues. Thus far this week, I've waited 29 minutes, 21 minutes, 34 minutes, and 19 minutes for the 26/26a on Detroit, and it's not only Tuesday - the bus is scheduled to come once every 14-16 minutes.. Is this usual? My closest stop doesn't have a shelter, so I'm definitely NOT waiting that long in the winter if this is what is typical. Is my experience unusual or typical?

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
I think the point is that he's from Mt Pleasant and is a (relative) success story. All of these grievances seem personal, though, more than anything substantive. Just because Mark Cuban made billions doesn't negate the fact that he came from relatively modest means? I'm not sure what your grievance is, but it seems personal.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
The "Bibb isn't smart" attacks seem a little vitriolic? I'm not a huge fan of Kevin Kelley but I don't think he's a moron... Bibb's worked with KeyBanc Capital Markets, went to the London School of Economics, and graduated with honors - I'm not sure those check marks usually equate to someone that's unintelligent. Unless you're saying his advancement is due to something other than merit or intelligence, at which point this starts to sound an awful lot like a dog whistle.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
I'm a lawyer that's read the full text of the bill, with 4 police union members in my family, and I support it. Like most things, reasonable people can disagree... I already voted (for Bibb), and the first thing he did that actually rubbed me the wrong way was relocate his campaign watch party. It was supposed to be at Gordon Green in Detroit Shoreway, but was relocated in the last couple of days to an east side community center after his campaign got blow back for having it in an "uppity" part of town. I heard this second hand, but the person who told me about it is pretty reliable and knows the campaign well. With how much Ohio City and DS supported Bibb and showed up for him in the primary, I don't think having an event in the neighborhood should be bad optics. It's in Cleveland proper, it's not like he wanted it at Shaker Country Club or something. Anyways... I still have a lot of faith in him. I think his worst case scenario mayoral legacy seems him as the same kind of leader as Frank Jackson. His best case sees him as an innovative, business-minded, and thoughtful leader who helps propel Cleveland into a more forward-thinking form of governance.

I was watching a Yes Theory video re: an abandoned city in Cyprus, that's been in the demilitarized buffer zone since 1974. What stuck out to me, though, was the protected bike lanes.......
