  1. Already have, as has my wife. My 74 year old neighbor will be opposing the development. When I asked why she told me "the money just goes to the developers." 😑
  2. The only thing that concerns me about this project is the leadership, tbh. I've heard less than stellar things from multiple people about Leebow's character as a person - and I know that doesn't necessarily make or break the project, but it can impact certain aspects. I hope the people I know are wrong, and that this project will be a net positive for the (my) neighborhood. I'm certainly a YIMBY based on that initial design.
  3. The Minh Anh owners are actually dying for the land to be developed, from my understanding. I get your point, but I think if they're okay with it, we should march on. Nonetheless, this is about 2,000 feet from my house and I am EXCITED.
  4. Lol those acting like the SHW HQ is a waste of the property downtown = "......Yeahhhhhhhhhh but we really didn't give Case Keenum a shot."
  5. I was there the morning after the riots helping to clean, and members of the family said that then. At the time, I figured it was just emotion getting the best of them. That's a big loss. Shame of the matter is, Geigers surviving would've made it easier for stores to head to the Euclid Grand.
  6. I've gotta say - just reading these responses re: urban planning, I can tell which of ya want to get rid of Baker Mayfield lol
  7. All - Figured I'd share some gossip haha. As most of you know, I live a stone's throw from the new MyPlace apartment complex on Franklin, between 48th and 50th. I recognized that one of the guys there helping with the excavating was an old friend's dad, so I stopped and said hi one day when I was walking the pup. He told me a story about a NIMBY blow up that fits the Ohio City Facebook page perfectly; so of course I felt the need to share: I guess they're currently getting the gas and sewer lines paired up to where the units, etc. will be... so a lot of people on the site don't know much about the structure of the actual project. Last week, some NIMBY walked into the construction zone, and the conversation went as follows: NIMBY: I want to speak to the project manager. Worker: Hey I'm probably the guy you want to talk to today. NIMBY: Yes, I'd like to know what you're going to do to make this project more accessible to transit. Because it's in a dead zone. Worker (Who came STRAPPED for this argument): How do you mean? NIMBY: Not a single bus runs through here and there's insufficient parking for residents, so how is this place going to be sustainable? Worker: You're wrong- I live in Lakewood and I take the 26 here every morning. The walk from the bus stop is less than a quarter mile. And actually, on Monday morning's I take my mom to mass in Westpark, leave my car at her house, and take the 22 here, and that stop is about .4 away from the project. So I already have two options less than a half mile away. NIMBY: And what if you're in a wheelchair? Worker: I guess you'd just take a little longer to get to the bus stop? NIMBY: HA! and if it's SNOWING!? Worker: Then you may need to change plans, like all of us do on snow days. NIMBY: This project is a disgrace. Worker: But at least you can get here by bus.

What was the driver of change / development?
  9. Honestly might take another waiver and buy some NOK calls. They're priced pretty damn well
  10. In this specific instance, though, the entire strategy was to accumulate a position against the funds' shorts, which expire tomorrow, and then go for the ride as the funds were forced to purchase the float to offset their losses.
  11. The inevitable class action against Robinhood is probably going to bankrupt the platform. This is wild.
  12. Idk how they can do this to Bobby George considering all he's done for the community. He owns bar none the most gorgeous building in Ohio City at the corner of Detroit and 25th. Not only did his suspiciously timed purchase delay construction on a stupid and (allegedly) transformative community park, but the graffiti that's since accumulated all over the building has built a real "authentic" aesthetic at that otherwise drab corner. His bone broth has cured literally thousands of Covid cases. Don't argue. Allowing people to get drunk and dance in close quarters has led to the conception of dozens of babies during this pandemic - which is great news. Unless you hate babies and families. He showed Northeast Ohio that tolerance is more important than discipline - and that you can reform someone who screams "GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY" (who among us hasn't?) on a message board with a stern conversation, and subsequently airing your grievances with the recipient of the xenophobic remarks via Facebook. He opens his restaurant up to the homeless once annually for an hour (big advocate of Caddy Day at Bushwood) - and it's a complete coincidence that every local celebrity and news camera is also invited. If you stupid libs didn't get triggered so easily this wouldn't be a problem.
  13. FWIW - I'll share my anecdote: I hitched my wagon to NOK two days ago - and bought a lot of call options at $5 I'm not wealthy - but I'm blessed enough to have a job that pays me very well to practice law. Having said that, I still have $74,000 in student debt. Beyond that, my dad has surgery on Monday on his tongue for perinerual spread of a tumor that had been removed on his tongue. He'll be out of work for 4 months minimum, and will have to use all of his sick time because (as of now) he does not qualify for FMLA. (Because he's 64 and previously had cancer and took 5 weeks off work in late March to mid-May because he was very high risk for Covid. My mom owns a small business that constantly requires capital to continue to grow - as such, she and my dad have relied primarily on my dad's income for mortgage, groceries, etc. I plan on selling the rest of my NOK tomorrow and have already sold enough to ensure my profit. If NOK holds steady or increases tomorrow, I will be able to pay down 10% of my student loans (if I so choose - though I may reinvest in a less YOLO fashion), and I can pull 2-3 months of living expenses for my parents, just in case my dad's recovery takes longer than expected. In sum: I'm not sure that this is a net benefit for society, as I think a lot of unsophisticated investors might lose everything on a whim. But to say this hasn't become an equitable moment for retail investors like myself, isn't entirely true - at least in my case.
  14. Rumor is that hedge funds and IBs are refusing to make markets until they can adjust their positions, and everything is crashing.
  15. No doubt lol - if I'm them I'm ditching all of it. Walk away with $90 million and pay $3 million in legal fees lol.
  16. In other news, TD Ameritrade and Robinhood both appeared to have crashed.
  17. It's funny you say that - because I was looking at put options into March for GME, and they're priced as if its an absolute certainty that the stock is going back to $5
  18. So not to derail this even further - but the Browns are a disproportionately valuable franchise, especially with its market size and (until recently) lack of success... But anyways... back to office stuff.
  19. FWIW - The next two the WSB subreddit is pimping is Nokia and Blackberry.
  20. XL really has the ability to bridge the gap in the next 10 years, by converting combustible engines to EV solutions while manufacturing of EV vehicles comes to scale
  21. 3/19 $16 JBLU calls. Yabo's tip o' the day

Lol hard pass. I'm just not brainwashed and am willing to vote for the right candidate regardless of affiliation - which is more than most Conservatives can say these days

Is Bibb a Democrat? I saw he worked for Obama but I haven't seen anything with an official party designation - it would be wonderful if he ran as an independent
  24. Yeah - and from my (limited) understanding, businesses can receive variances to operate while ADA plans are under review and in process
