TBF - weather plays a bigger part in football than most sports. I'd be reluctant to go to a bubble as the owner of a Northern playoff team. Though, your point is well taken
  2. Question for any of you on here more familiar with rehabbing / flipping houses... I live in Ohio City, and there are several houses on our street in the process of being flipped or just completed and sold... and each one of them has went through the same exact pattern (house next door to me, two houses directly across the street, and a house behind us - all have different owners). But renovations start hot and heavy, and there are people at the house non-stop for the better part of 5-8 weeks... Then work completely ceases for 2-3 months... Then work starts again in earnest for a few weeks... then another stop for about 1-2 months... and then work non-stop until it's listed. I have little to no experience in this arena, so I'm curious as to why this seems to be the pattern of every reno - the predictability is almost maddening. Can anyone provide insight?

I have an opportunity to get tickets for the game at Heinz.... but supposedly PA is requiring Covid test results before entering... is anyone aware of this? (My wife is also planning to go to the Anthropology outlet near Pittsburgh to pick up one of our end tables this weekend - and I'm wondering if they are checking people on the turnpike? [though I don't think they can Constitutionally bar someone from traveling through the state])

Don't forget the blown lead in 2002

I understand your point. But I think the Nick Chubb TD gave us the ability to choose when and where we showed the Steelers our best stuff... For instance... Baker had a fade to Higgins in the beginning of the fourth quarter for a gain of about 25, which ultimately set up our next TD. We seldom run 2-beaters to the field-side and normally rely on working the boundary against safety help over top, and Stefanski dialed one up (I believe Hooper had a speed out to occupy the field corner), and Baker put it in the soft spot in the zone before the safety could get over. That play was designed to go to the field, and Baker lightly didn't have the same options to the boundary. That was a look we probably didn't want to show them, but did. We also ran the play action throwback with Hooper, which is an excellent goalline design, and I'm sure Stefanski would've rather just run an ISO or TAG power, but he wanted 6. Imo - he was calculated when he needed to be... Didn't put Teller in too many dicey ace and combo blocks, and only showed his hand when he had the cards.

Okay let me preface this by saying I love all of you.. and I love the Browns... but I need to vent... The Browns are in the playoffs. Go find something else to be miserable about in your life. The Browns aren't your punching bag anymore. Everyone wanting Stefanski to have run Nick Chubb 25-30x last game is football illiterate. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. After the Browns got up 7-0, the game got close, but was never actually in question - it just felt like it because we're Browns fans. If you notice, Stefanski limited a NUMBER of aspects of the offense in the game, but y'all grab the low-hanging fruit and scream "EMARGHERED NICK CHUBB TRIGGEREDDDDDDD". I watched the game in its entirety and saw one play with orbit motion before the snap (a staple in our offense), two RPO's (both of which targeted TEs), to my recollection zero plays in which we shifted or motioned two or more players prior to the snap (another staple), and only one slip screen. We are now going into a game with the Steelers in which we showed them maybe 40-45% of our playbook the week before. I know it would've felt good to watch Jarvis throw an end around TD to Baker, or see Chubb get 30 touches and run up the score - but what would it have been for if we give them a full book of scouting material?!?! I watched the game with my dad and literally said to him as the game started "I hope we don't show them too much." Another busy week at work, so I don't have time for a full write up, but I'll note this re: our defense. We cannot be manned up to the boundary with any corner other than Denzel Ward. Joe Woods messed up on a number of 3rd and medium to 3rd and long coverage calls, imo. The way you beat the Steelers is by keeping them in front of you, and then hoping for FG's in the red zone - NOT by bump and run with no help over top.
  7. Foundation is getting set for the MyPlace project on Franklin. They were pumping concrete in non-stop the last two days
  8. I've heard Wolstein's son is working on opening a wine bar in the new phase - but haven't been able to confirm
  9. It's also disheartening given the fact that Slavic Village is one neighborhood we cannot say the city has ignored. There have been millions in capital injected into that neighborhood

One of my favorite sayings from a law school professor of mine "people too often conflate stingy and conservative." lol

As an aside - 2017 mayoral candidate Tony Madalone appears to be bearded and living in Mexico now - per his social media.

FTFY. But for real - I noted this up thread - but a number of my friends and I are Conservatives living in Ohio City who are HIGHLY energized by Bibb. If he can get us, along with large segments of the black community, that's a hell of a coalition and goes to show how impressive his credentials are.

Spoke with someone involved with Jackson campaign - They're rattled by Bibb. A person of color who has his sh** together, and is accomplished outside of local government. Slight difference between him and Zack Reed lol. But this is going to go one of two ways: Jackson's team begins the smear... or Jackson calls it quits.

Happy Days is where Conservancy for CVNP has its annual fundraiser (I'd highly recommend participating - it's an awesome cause and even better event). Campgrounds isn't a bad idea - but for me, I'd love to an effort to re-forest the land and incorporate a new trail. The Kendall Lake trail is one of the most beautiful trails in the state, but it's particularly isolated - with the exception of its connection to Salt Run, and a connection to Pine Lane, and then the trails North of Peninsula would be wonderful. I mean look at how dense the forest could be with a concerted effort https://www.google.com/maps/@41.2318387,-81.5315182,2257m/data=!3m1!1e3
  15. Yeah, but I'm sure you're more sophisticated than me in this regard... What I've experienced isn't sustainable and is 95% dumb luck... and I know it'll influence my strategy moving forward, inevitably
  16. I have gotten so ridiculously lucky this year - I'm honestly scared moving forward lol

.... And for the love of God.. if we don't win... spare me the "REFS WERE OUT TO SCREW US" narrative. This game with Mason Rudolph shouldn't even be close enough to allow the refs to have an impact down the stretch.

Assume Baker knew he was getting stuffed... in that scenario... why wouldn't he just "fumble" the ball forward and take the 50/50 chance that one of his lineman dives on it beyond the chains. That's why it only applies in the last 2 minutes.

In theory you're right. But in the NFL, a lateral is intentional and is done while maintaining possession of the football until the lateral occurs. I hear what you're saying, and wish it were the case - but there is an element of intention. FYI - this would have been a lateral in college.
  20. Honestly, the upside - imo - is it will take only a few, common sense managerial adjustments to make WSM thrive again. I was there today and the place was packed. And there are still good vendors there. I know we’ve lost a few, but we’re lucky the WSM is able to market itself, even in the face of incompetence
  21. Well thank God I got in on XL at $16.16. What. a. ride.
  22. And my inexperience in vertical construction makes itself abundantly clear lol
  23. Correct. Sorry if my comment implicating anything official. But I'd argue this would be a perfect issue to advocate for and NOT be a NIMBY lol. Anyways, does anyone have insight on the timeframe of construction of timber versus more traditional builds?
  24. I'd argue the value add of the neighborhood. There are about 6-7 local coffee shops within a mile of intro - the nearest drug store, to my knowledge, is downtown
  25. Ohio City Inc would push back on that, BIG TIME - Starbucks, that is. Anyways... It seems like this timber is going to take a long time to build and may be more labor intensive than usual. Am I wrong? Just going off the progress since last week and my untrained eye
