When I was in Perpignan, France, they had similar structures set up along their river walk in the winter as a way to supplement outdoor space for restaurants (although it's only below 50ish there for 2-3 months a year.

Cleveland: Wind Turbine Construction News
So, this actually isn't true. Wind turbines have proven to be a real problem for migratory birds and also, in an even more significant way, bats. And when migratory birds are going South/North for breeding. Losing 3-5% of the flock each trip has significant long term impacts. A major problem with this is that the statistics we've come to rely upon are often truly biased. I.e. NWF will only include birds found within a limited radius around each wind mill in its death count. One of the major problems is that renewable energy providers aren't able to sacrifice a 4-6 hour window (during typical flight times) because wind is still at a point where it's only a viable replacement when: 1) Farms of 25+ fans are used, and 2) the turbines are run full time. There are some other options, though - including painting the fans themselves. It's obviously not a reason to abandon renewable energy via turbines, but I think we too quickly turn our backs on the animals it impacts because it fits nicely with our own environmentalism.

Oh boy - we were actually planning something similar. If this comes to fruition we'd be beaten to the punch.

My wife and I had a drink at Alley Cat's patio and that was great - masks in the restaurant and temperatures were taken upon entrance. However, our view overlooked Dante's.... that place has GOTTA be the Covid epicenter of Cleveland, or at least TownHall's rival. There were at least 200 people on their patio alone.

And as devil's advocate @TH3BUDDHA ... SHW is a wildly conservative company inasmuch as they expect productivity and accountability from employees. Unlike many other major corporations, from my understanding, they are dying to get the workforce back in the office.

Ohio High School Football: General News & Discussion
My alma mater won't be able to play more than 5 games this year, with about half of their opponents being from out of state. I don't see them playing as of right now.

I think I am a pretty regular person - 6'2" white male with an advanced degree - and I have been in there over a dozen times. Everyone likes chips. And they don't sell liquor in there.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
So, I wouldn't have phrased it in the dog whistley way he did - but he's right. The store is a net loss for the community down there. I've been in there about a dozen times and never seen anyone under the age of 18 or female. It's a hangout. If the city could work to ensure a similarly situated mini-mart under new ownership could go there, that would be fantastic. Fact of the matter is, current ownership tolerates the crime that happens there. I know there's not much you can do about a smash and grab robbery... but there is a lot you can do about allowing men to loiter on your exterior wall for hours at a time. Take, for instance, the convenient at Bridge and W.41/Randall... there are always gentlemen outside from the neighborhood - but the store owners have active relationships with those people, and its become a part of the community fabric, not a source for concern.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion

If anyone cares, I spoke with a colleague last week who told me to invest in Litecoin (LTC)long term as a crypto hedge. It's currently the 4th or 5th most used crypto, but it's transaction speed it the fastest and because the price is currently attainable $50-$60 in the last month, it's likely to draw more interest long term as businesses continue the trend of accepting coins. Beyond that, I bought JetBlue a month ago because 1) it's low, and 2) I feel like its an obvious takeover target.- Personal Finance / Investing Thread

I spoke with a neighbor who I had to tryto talk off a ledge, who has full intentions of taking matters into his own hands. I guess his lawn got turfed last summer while his granddaughter was playing on it.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
I was fortunate enough to be at Steelyard last night when a group of 15-20 of them went about 40 in front of Marshalls/PetCo/Home Depot. Honestly no idea how they haven't been seriously injured by themselves or a really pissed off dad.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
