  1. I figured this is the most appropriate thread - as the story relates to safety.. Mods, feel free to move me if necessary - Nonetheless, I heard quite the (secondhand) story this morning at my gym - and it has a couple of layers, so bare with me... A couple of weeks ago, a trainer at my gym was fired for refusing to wear a mask, and then challenging his superior to a fist fight when instructed to do so... From what I've been told, the trainer initially wouldn't wear one, and then began to wear one, but cut holes in it. After several clients complained, management told him he needed to wear a proper mask at all times in the gym and it escalated into a "WE CAN TAKE THIS OUTSIDE BRO" sort of situation - and he was asked to leave for good. What I found out this morning is that, in solidarity with this trainer, Bobby George pulled his membership and withdrew the membership of all Townhall and affiliated employees, which I'd assume made up at least 5% of the gym's membership - potentially more. Assuming the information I have is correct, I just cannot understand how this dude continues to make decision after decision to make himself look like a diaper-rashed sphincter.
  2. Mine requires masks and hasn't had any issues thus far.
  3. Agreed. Schools / extracurriculars for kids is the most complex issue we've faced to this point imo - but that's best for another thread lol
  4. Also - just a reminder that we should do our best to support smaller restaurants (Alea comes to mind) during this via takeout. So many of our fellow Clevelanders leveraged their lives to improve the already sterling dining reputation of our city, and we should do our best to return the favor during this time.
  5. It seems like indoor seating at restaurants is a major driver. I have a friend who owns a gym, and he's limited capacity to 50%, offered free testing through some grant he found, and currently has zero clients to have tested positive since June 1. Most major outbreaks seem to be linked to indoor seating at/near bars over anything else.
  6. I grew up in a household with two loving parents, and I still have coaches who’ve formed part of my core as a person. There are many levels to sports, especially amateur sports, that so often goes unsung
  7. Look - I know me saying this will be unpopular, so let me just preface this by saying that: a) I know Covid-19 is real and very serious, and we should respond appropriately, and b) the spread needs to be contained as best possible. Having said that, I look at two stark realities of high school football: 1) To a lot of middle to lower income kids across the state, it's a means to an end. It's a pathway to college that wouldn't otherwise be afforded to them. 2) It's a positive, organized activity for a lot of kids who live in environments that don't often foster that. 3) It's more likely that a 15-18 year old kid will end up in the hospital related to a playing injury than Covid. Now -as I noted above, I know this serious, and I realize that kids often live with parents / grandparents who are more vulnerable. I just think that it's slightly more complex than "the NFL can barely do it, so we can't." The unfortunate reality is that football is a lot more than football - especially in Ohio - to the young men involved. I don't pretend to know the answer, and perhaps the only right answer is to cancel the season. I just think the options we should exercise for extracurriculars to happen at the high school level should be exhaustive.

Injury and opportunity - he was (somewhat) affordable and Stefanski's scheme is a tight end's dream.

Imo he's the best two way TE in the game, save Kittle
  10. I personally know 4 people who moved home from Chicago due to Covid, at least for the next 12 months. 2 work in investment banking for JP Morgan and Wells Fargo, but can work remotely - or in the Cleveland office of the same - for the next year at least. They're looking for homes in Rocky River and Ohio City, all intend to buy in the next month or two.

I don't think people appreciate how truly special Austin Hooper is at TE.
  12. To emphasize this point - I was in Italy last summer and sparked up a conversation with a man in construction from the Provence region of France. When we said we were from Cleveland, he said his vendors at work all talk about the steel mills there. To be fair - there was more substance to the conversation, but I was ♾️ wines deep and can't really remember.
  13. Mortgage companies seem to be doing extremely well here - is this global or specific to Cleveland for some reason

I was scrolling through old thread - these pics won't load anymore for me, though I'd love to see them if possible @ColDayMan
  15. Haha - I'll update you in the other thread
  16. Hope you’re not tired of these yet lol
  17. Kent and EMU consistently have the smallest athletic budgets in the MAC. A couple guys I played with in college coach at various colleges now, and one Ohio school in particular is in real danger of going to FCS or even Division II from the MAC
  18. Haven't you ever played roller coaster tycoon? Sheesh
  19. An employee had a friend get word out that 14 employees had tested positive, two bad examples being: 1. A waitress found out she tested positive during a shift, and told the tables she was waiting on that she had a family emergency instead of alerting them. 2. A female employee was found laying on the ground of the bathroom vomiting and had to be carried out of the restaurant. There are also now screen shots of the texts he was sending to employees telling them not to believe media hype, rely on the facts he provides in the group chat, and stop thinking about it because stress weakens your immune system and increases your chances of getting it.
  20. Given the whistleblowers today - who's still eating at Townhall?
  21. Welp... They're not messing around
  22. Digging out the basement for the next two townhomes near Clinton and 47th
  23. On the whole, I agree. But playing devil's advocate, the city has poured millions into Slavic Village (S. Broadway) over the better part of 10 years and he's seen little ROI.
