  1. Wow! That wood facade!!! I wonder if a facade that specific means they already have a tenant for that space?
  2. Yup! My German Shepherd is going to be thrilled
  3. I know it’s en Vogue on this site to pile on Bobby George and label him as a borderline sociopath with little to no moral compass, unless he’s feeding homeless people whilst inviting every news crew and celebrity in town... However, idk if that’s fair. I know he bought the remaining parcel of what would otherwise be a transformative community park that would promote wellness and recreation for all area residents... But at least he’s demonstrated that he’s a man of his word, that he’s in this for the long haul, and that he’s committed to transforming his parcel into something beautiful... I mean look at how well kept he keeps it!
  4. Yeah, I've heard from people in the know that this will likely take them to a re-opening date between July 4 and Labor Day
  5. ... who among us?
  6. So I live about 800 feet from them... I don't like them, they give me a Main Street at Disney World vibe... BUT my wife, and most of my neighbors absolutely love them - so I think we're definitely in the minority. As long as they neighborhood is happy, I'm happy - about as anti-NIMBY as one can be lol
  7. Lol my one of my groomsmen is one of them. He's a pretty normal guy, but he's keenly aware of macroeconomic and geopolitical situations. The name of his game isn't so much picking the right equities, it's knowing when and how to hedge your risk - that's what makes traders elite. The entire "Biff" stereotype of traders, I've found, is wholly incorrect. My friend graduated with dual degrees in finance and Eastern European history - got his masters in Vilnius on Eastern European studies - was hired by Goldman as an analyst - sent frequently to Prague, Berlin, Zagreb, Vienna with the PMs he worked for as a means of providing cultural context - then became a PM himself, and he focuses almost entirely on EU entities or at least companies with substantial ops in the EU. Goldman found the value in his geopolitical and historical understanding, cultivated it, and used it for their own gain.
  8. I mean West Park and South Hills still have tons of Police and Fire.
  9. Friendly tip - buy Crowdstrike
  10. All you had to say is Jacksonville and I'll withdraw my support. Worst. City. In. America. Bar None.
  11. Let's not forget the doomsday forecasts every municipal police and fire union will predict.
  12. My thought being that the County would have to hold a big stick in this regard and essentially incentivize/extort (lol) the suburbs into falling in line with services. We can all agree that the City of Cleveland doesn't have the cache to start the process... but the County could look at this as (1) a way to prioritize its service offerings over that of municipalities, and (2) a way to get Cleveland more funding as the population increases with annexation
  13. Yeah I'm with Ken here. While there's no doubt some issues ahead, if anything, I think the anticipated budget shortfalls will accelerate regionalism - which will be a good thing in the long term. I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland proper includes East Cleveland, Garfield Heights, Warrensville Heights, Richmond Heights, Brooklyn, and Euclid in the next 5-10 years. With Parma, Parma Heights, Cleveland Hts., Seven Hills, Brook Park and Fairview Park not far behind.
  14. Yeah loud explosions every 30 seconds or so
  15. Is anyone else on the near west side hearing a constant stream of gunshots?
  16. I'm learning that the venn diagram of people who think social distancing is tyranny and the people who cheer on police firing tear gas into a protest is actually a circle
  17. Local leaders in Cuyahoga, Summit, Geauga, Medina, and Lake counties should invest in seeing what a single, regional airport could do for the region.
  18. The chatter I collected from being up on Marblehead all weekend is that Downtown Sandusky wants to be to summer what Ellicotville is for winter in the region. I could only get a look from the water, but the pier and surrounding buildings looked amazing.
  19. I took the jet ski to the Jackson St. pier over the weekend, just to get a view from the water. The place was a HIVE of activity and looked absolutely beautiful
  20. i mean for sale
  21. So I hope you guys know me well enough to know that I'm not a downer... Overall, this project will be great and the building is beautiful..... But we neeeeeeeed equity downtown and this seems like a perfect sized project to give it a try
  22. Hi Everyone - Again - full disclosure, this IS a fundraiser. However, we are nearly at our goal of $1,000! If you are in a situation to donate, that would be greatly appreciated! If not, please just pass this link along to a few friends, family members, or colleagues. I've seen firsthand what this organization can do and I would LOVE to meet our goal. Thanks so much! http://support.challengedathletes.org/site/TR?team_id=4830&fr_id=1722&pg=team
  23. East Coast Custard!!!! My wife and I had our first date there
  24. I'm actually going to start going back to the office 1-2 days a week following Memorial Day. I work on the 22nd floor. But I've got it mapped out for now... Enter with mask, and I have a napkin in hand which I use to open doors and push the elevator button... My firm has a garbage can in our lobby where I'll dispose of the napkin... Once in my office, I'll close the door, wipe down my desk and keyboard with a clorox wipe, then remove my mask. I won't eat at the office and I'll only drink from my screw-on-lid Yeti that I'll prepare at home. Tbh, I just need a mental break from the monotony of home, and I also need to be more productive, which is much easier with three screens and a full desk.
  25. PHS is my biggest concern... most of those restaurants were set up to be intimate places to dine/drink before a show, and not at all conducive to social distancing. Moreover, 70%+ of their business was before or after shows
