Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
that was my impression... then I read this earlier today... which appears to be supported throughout this post, for the most part. I mean, if only a third of this is true, it’s reason for me to never step foot at a George establishment again.

Agreed - heard from a friend its already being worked on. However, Cuyahoga County civil trials are all likely going to be pushed into 2021, so its an awkward time to file. I think this is the first time I've actually seen friends of mine finally say "yeah I'm never going there again."

It was screenshots of old social media posts, which was the reason he was fired. TH will get sued over that for, at the very least, intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It truly had it all! From the top: 1. What the GM said was wrong. ? 2. But technically the victim was white, so it wasn't racist, just xenophobic. ? 3. The victim is a disgruntled former employee - oh, here's some exhibits from his personnel file ? 4. We gave the GM a book on racism to help him learn his lesson ? 5. I won't be bullied by the PC police ?

Anyone else see the “apology” Townhall issued? Essentially says “The victim was a white, disgruntled former employee, so TECHNICALLY this is xenophobic not racist so it’s cool. We recommended some books on racism for our GM to read, but the PC police won’t bully me to fire him.” Then they proceeded to post exhibits from the subject-ex-employee’s personnel file as for the reason they terminated him in the first place

To be fair, you guys, Townhall's bone broth cures cancer, Covid, diabetes, schizophrenia, and gout. So why bother with masks?

Challenged Athletes Foundation: Operation Rebound Fundraiser
Hi UO Family - Full disclosure here, this is an informational post about a fundraiser I'm hosting in two weeks, and I'd love for everyone to participate who: 1) Is able to, and 2) believes in the cause. As background, a good friend of mine in high school entered the Marines after college. In training before his first deployment, he was struck by an artillery round near his lower back / buttocks that pierced a number of his organs and nearly shattered his pelvis. There were a few days thereafter when it looked like he might not pull through. Nonetheless, he is once again active and proud to be a Marine, though he no longer has full functionality in one of his legs and wears a brace. Since this incident, he's been nothing short of extraordinary, including biking from San Francisco to San Diego to raise money for this same charity, and competing in several other events - including the Warrior Games. As such, I decided this year that I wanted to do the "Murph" challenge on Memorial Day, explained in more detail below. I asked him which charity he might recommend and why. He pointed me to the Challenged Athletes Foundation - which strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports. As a former athlete and someone who appreciates all our military does for us... this sounded perfect. The "Murph" challenge consists of: 1. A one mile run 2. 100 pull-ups 3. 200 push-ups 4. 300 air squats 5. A one mile run. My goal in doing Murph will be to raise $1,000 for this foundation - hopefully more. If you are able and willing to support this cause, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm even more than willing to accept donations contingent upon my results (i.e. $x if I finish in under 48 mins, $x if I finish under an hour, etc.) I apologize for injecting this into the thread, but I'd just love for everyone to take a look and decide if you're willing to contribute. I appreciate everyone's time, and the link for my challenge is included here: http://support.challengedathletes.org/site/TR?team_id=4830&fr_id=1722&pg=team

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Yeah agree with both. I guess my point is @KJP I knew about the stretch of Clinton from 48th to 29th because I walk it regularly - and there are some stunning homes there, new and old alike. I think, though, the stretch from 58th to 65th is my favorite. Almost no vacant properties and even the less updated homes still have well kept yards. I was smitten.

Okay... I just walked the pup down Clinton between 58th and 65th. First time I’ve ever been on that stretch of Clinton.... and all I can say is: HOLY SH** ... that is hands down the most beautiful and charming street in Cleveland proper. I’m flabbergasted

It's not mentioned - it was missed by all parties... Which, as a lawyer, had me thinking "holy sh** the transfer was illegal", but instead of the headache, if there's ever an issue down the road, the house will be ours by adverse possession anyways lol

For anyone else living in Cleveland proper - I had a bit of a rage episode yesterday... My mortgage payment increased $300 on a fixed rate, due to an error in transfer that my realtor and mortgage provider didn't catch ($2,400 lien on the property ? from previous owners) My mortgage was locked in at 4.8%, so I refi'd to 3.35% yesterday to a 30 year fixed and got my payment down nearly $400/mo. Given the way our property taxes swing year by year, it might be worth looking into.

Don't read anything into it - Scene isn't allowed to publish an article without at least a passing allusion to its innate loathing of any development within the city limits.

Now to get too tangential, but wouldn't that have to be underground or am I way off?

Quarantine has me messed up - but I'd regularly take Franklin to 25th as my daily commute... Is the circle currently under construction and how long will that strip be closed for?

Cleveland: Historic Photos
My family has some less than savory roots on organized crime on the westside and downtown... And there's at least 2-3 spots I can point out off the top of my head that are missing, though that might've been by design at the time.

I think it's slightly misunderstood in re: law firms... Jones Day is still headquartered here, as is Baker Hostetler, meaning their operations are here. However, Jones Day and Squire Patton Boggs both have their managing partner residing in DC, which is a bigger deal than one may think - though, not akin to a "move." Nonetheless, if Benesch was to move its MP to another city, it could likely be assumed that operations could follow.

Know what's ironic.... NIMBYs kept litigating the look to be more "neighborhood appropriate" and it led to this...
