  1. Not sure if they're related but I once heard a rumor that the Geis Building off 480 just east of the airport was going to be a data center in the near future. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4204513,-81.7864293,3a,75y,349.67h,88.2t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sOpCc3Mf7ys_TIQifCP4nLw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D1.795767927572939%26panoid%3DOpCc3Mf7ys_TIQifCP4nLw%26yaw%3D349.67038831735545!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTAyOS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D
  2. Or we could all just live among each other and not pretend like certain states are veritable hell holes, rather than places that have policies that should be challenged.
  3. Again, not to over-simplify this, but I think the biggest issues Dems are having is the inability to be introspective, especially on social positions, because a sizable leftward chunk of the party has taken a firm "words are violence" stance that doesn't allow any thoughtful critique of positions and, thereby, allows the party to be framed (right or wrong) in that light.... hence the trans prisoner ads... I am a conservative and former Republican... I voted blue across the ticket because I thought it was the right thing to do... but dems are at an impasse where they either dig in their heels or re-evaluate... But we should probably move this to the election thread.
  4. More conservatives relocate for political reasons than Dems... so I'm not sure that's true. The larger issue will be CA and NY losing votes in relation to TX and FL.
  5. I find this difficult to believe given the eye turning to the Great Lakes region in general as climate catastrophes in other parts of the country become more common, coupled with overpriced real estate
  6. Tbf I've bought and used a lot of drugs and mingled with a lot of sex workers on that trail. Only one to get my steps in while appeasing my vices
  7. I don't think this is an unfair critique... but imagine it was Intel... would you feel the same?

It was especially cool because the Cavs were beating an opponent so thoroughly that the fans could cheer for the nepo-baby benchwarmer to get in
  9. As ticked off as everyone's been with the Haslam's lately... this project kind of rocks. And it will be a thrill for high school kids to play in that stadium
  10. The fact that the Browns issued a statement and said the Modell Law "adds uncertainty" means they do NOT feel good about it
  11. Idk what their HOA bylaws will say, but a buddy of mine lives in a similar development in Pittsburgh and he sublets his parking spot to someone in the neighborhood for $150/month
  12. I think a few things here are true: A) We should have some guidelines on when kids should be in bars, unless otherwise perfectly well behaved in a booth or at a pinball machine. (My dad coached HS basketball and after Friday night games we'd go out to a bar in Parma Heights with the other coaches and their families, and it was some of my favorite memories). B) We should be comfortable asking people to leave whose children are being disruptive. Parents should also discipline their damn kids - permissive parenting is a joke and, imo, used by people who are too lazy to work with their kids to change behaviors. C) Parents are, generally, too closely scrutinized for how closely they're watching their kids. If no one is being harmed or bothered, who cares. D) As Americans, we pretend to be pro-family but in many subtle ways are actually the opposite. If you go out in Ireland or Italy, you'll find kids in pubs/bars/restaurants well passed hours, and their noise is absorbed as part of the atmosphere, rather than an inconvenience to overcome.
  13. I don't want to be this guy - but I don't love the NWSL investment. I'm very sorry - I honestly hate myself for this... but it's not a sustainable investment absent planned other uses for the stadium. I hope I'm wrong, as I'd love to take my daughter to see games.

FWIW, I have a couple acquaintances in the Moreno camp - they're buying the polling manipulation too. Had drinks with one last Thursday and he told us "in actuality it's probably closer to +2 for Sherrod" Their hope is driving voter engagement by saying "this is winnable if you just show up"
  15. Overall I agree with you - but there have been times when I tried to do grocery shopping at lunch and ended up needing to finish up shopping elsewhere later that day.
  16. ALL I KNOW IS THERE'S NOT ENOUGH OF IT

LET'S GET BACK ON TOPIC INSTEAD OF POINTING OUT THIS NEW, BLEEDING EDGE THOUGHT THAT PEOPLE ARE, IN FACT OFTEN HYPOCRITICAL

I know some of his family and they all despise Trump

  20. FWIW - Brook Park residents are able to get this as a referendum if they choose to do so
  21. I'm not the best NEO historian on here - but didn't the city essentially do a land grab to get Hopkins (well within Brook Park's borders) to actually be an annexed part of Cleveland? From my recollection, it had to do with getting projects at the airport off the ground, no pun intended.
  22. If what Bibb is saying is true, and the Haslams pivoted after years of negotiations, that's a bit f'd
  23. Fun fact: the guy I bought my house from was leaving Cleveland (following the Progressive Field renovations) to go to Jacksonville to lead the rebuild there.
