Turning to my most reliable group for some advice: I'm putting together a happy hour for the associates in my office this Thursday. Our office is at East 9th and St. Claire. Any suggestions on good happy hours within a 10 min walk at relatively nice locations? Thanks.

I think the two could be bifurcated. I.e. there could be a stipulation that none of the vendors there have anything more than a warming kitchen, things like that.

I wish so badly that the parking lot by the Thirty Parrot could get turned into a weather controlled pavilion of sorts, where the walls can be closed in winter and open air in summer. I imagine it as having 10-12 different food and drink vendors around the perimeter, with a projection screen on both ends, picnic tables in the middle, and games spread throughout. Something less elaborate than what they have in St Louis

He was president of Hiram College when I was there. Great guy

A NIMBY stood up and complained that this project would put any and all left-handed, color blind, unicyclists with webbed feet in grave danger, and it should be opposed.

So can anyone cue me in on when Franklin will be open again? Unfortunately, the handful of places I have to drive to regularly all have Franklin as the most convenient route, and it's getting mildly annoying, especially considering the construction near Church and State limiting road access as well. I'm sure it's all for the good of the order, I'm just wondering.

My cousin is there for work right now and says all of the locals are HEATED about lax building codes leading to more collapses and damage

In a strange way, that might be a good thing if that means more couples/families are moving to the area, right?

I often wonder if Ohio City has the means to do a sort of resident trolley, that literally just loops from Detroit/50th to Detroit/29th to Detroit/25th to 25th/Bridge to 25th/Lorain to Lorain/41st to Lorain/50th back to 50th/Detroit.

FWIW a house on my street was purchased in 2006 for $55k and is now listed for $195k. From the listing, the home looks nice but nothing extravagant/luxurious has really been done to it.

Not to be a naysayer... But who's going to pay $84k a year for a 3 bedroom?

It's a multi-function website used, primarily by people 40 and under. It allows employees/former employees to post feedback about companies, positions, etc. and allows employers to post job opening as well. As the name implies, it's essentially a glass door through which employers can see who is looking for work and how their company is perceived, and where perspective employees can see job openings and learn about the company's reputation, salary, culture, etc.

I know I've posted this before - but y'all need to check out the responses by the owner to the Google ratings. I agree with you both - though, I'd say "blip" is a bit generous. Two years of gains were wiped out in 3 days

To be fair - the stock market and economy, while often correlated, are not the same thing.

FWIW, there's still a house near 65th and Herman where an elderly Italian lady sells 20-30 loaves of bread out of her garage daily. It's awesome

HAHA this is good. And my comment was for no other reason than to say that I'd kind of understanding catching sh** if we were dressed like the yuppies in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Not being sarcastic at all. It will be interesting to see the dynamic that occurs when they try to develop that parcel with the "My community is not your commodity" house/building only about 100 feet to the East. My wife and I try to walk to Platform/the Plum/ Xinji / Ohio City Provisions when the weather allows, and we've gotten some really nasty and downright weird comments targeting our socioeconomic situation going past that place on at least 4-5 different occasions Of note - we typically dress in sweat pants and crewnecks we bought at BJ's... so we're not walking the dog in fancy loafers and lululemon pullovers.

Cleveland: Outlet Mall Proposal for Lakefront
Idk if I've ever been a NIMBY in my life.... But it seems foolish to commit such a sizable structure to a retail model that will be extinct in 15 years
