  1. Out of curiosity - assume D Terminal opened up tomorrow. Where is it accessed from?
  2. I think it’s a reference to who holds sway in available properties in Ohio City. Perhaps he wishes they’d preserve the building, but he’s certainly not bitter about the situation as whole
  3. I think Cleveland Scene might've used a quote to get their oft-biased message across. The Sorma's have no ill-will towards the developers.
  4. So are the owners. It timed up perfectly with planned retirement and gave them a reason to call it quits
  5. Given the scale, I think it will be more than 3 years from ground breaking to ribbon cutting, right?
  6. Can anyone share what the building looked like before the facade?
  7. I think focusing on Hopkins as a major driver is outdated thinking... I think NEO's energy would be better spent ensuring us as a destination for high speed rail, be it the hyperloop or enhanced Amtrak, along with allowing Greater Cleveland to be a beta center for driverless vehicles.
  8. This might be getting too far out in the weeds, but there's an argument to be made that airports could be nearly obsolete by 2040, and that's something that should be considered in funding.
  9. While I don't think an airport is an end all be all of economic development and retaining talent - just look at the way CLT grew with that city, which is happening in a similar way with Nashville right now (though Nashville brings a tourist element that probably makes it an outlier)
  10. Cleveland media in general is wild. I remember when we got the RNC... the first local article I read led with "In anticipation of the headaches for locals and transportation issues..."
  11. Lol - ANYWAYS, I love the black windows they've installed
  12. Agree with you... However, who they land as retail tenants will really be indicative of the momentum of downtown, imo. If a freaking Dollar Tree goes in there, we're donezo. If its a nice retailer or local merchant(s), we're golden.
  13. I’d rather see it run like a municipal school district. A sort of autonomous entity within the city’s purview... but not really
  14. Since we all tend to get frustrated with the pace of development - here's a nice trip to see how far we've come in just a six years, moving West down Detroit... Im not an expert either, but I frequent the park. Last year a ranger told me stagnant water in the canal is an issue they have to address, so I wonder if dredging will promote water flow?
  16. Moving this from another thread.... But even if Intro wanted to attract a tenant like Hyland... does it have the capacity to do so and have any other office tenants?
  17. This summer, while enjoying a cold one on the patio at Juke Box... I had a guy in his late 20s go on a rant about Saucy... And I pointed out that it neighborhood development has a lot of positives and he said, and I quote "I'd rather the neighborhood get razed than gentrified."
  18. "BUT IT'S 474 FEET TO A BUS STOP, DO YOU THINK THAT'S ACCESSIBLE TO A TENANT WITH ONE LEG WHO LIKES ROLLER BLADING TO HIS/HER TRANSIT STOP?!" - Probably some NIMBY that protests the Kertesz project a block away
  19. My house/property line directly abuts this project.... AND I FULLY SUPPORT IT. See how I did that, you NIMBY-hipster-dufuses.
  20. This has massive upside for businesses with cybersecurity concerns - especially in light of the discovery of Russian malware in several of our power grids last year.
  21. What I’m really hoping for is a mix of retail in these spaces, spanning from Lululemon / Apple kind of stores to local artisans, etc. I REALLY think a high occupancy rate of quality tenants there will help develop 25th south of Lorain into a shopping destination, rather than “yeah there’s a few cool shops there”
  22. Since we hit over 10 million passengers in 2019 - can anyone give me the most active commercial year in Hopkins history? Just curious
