Cleveland: Brooklyn Centre / Old Brooklyn: Development and News
When NIMBYism has an actual purpose. Bravo

Cleveland Metro: New FBI HQ
So I've been to Cleveland's field office a couple of times. $80 million seems low to me, given the resources contained within the building.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Hate to be the jerk here, but I’m not surprised. I’d always heard from people that his restaurants were leveraged to the hilt and could eventually be a financial liability. Though, to be clear, I’m not certain that has anything to do with this. Nonetheless, Sawyer seems like a really nice guy and I love his food, so I hope whatever happened can be remedied.

Parma: Development and News
Call me crazy and biased... I still think that has a charm to it. Nonetheless... the city still doesn't have a charter because the same 5-6 people control all personnel decisions and backed all but one council person. It's the entire reason it took so long to consolidate HS's

Lmao I was just thinking the same thing. 300% in 6 months with no apparent reason

Locals would NIMBY tf out of that. I love the idea though

NFL: General News & Discussion
Don't let impeachment, State of the Union, Iowa Caucuses, etc. distract you from the fact that 4 OF THE 22 STARTERS IN THE SUPER BOWL WERE FROM NORTHEAST OHIO. That is absolutely remarkable.

Ugh, I so badly wish I had the capital to work on some small, on-street projects in that neighborhood. I think a mixed use would thrive there in a new building.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
My wife and I were thinking about selling her old unit that we still have at Stonebridge.... but it looks like this might actually be happening so perhaps I'll have to convince her otherwise

Portage County: Development and News
I went to college at Hiram, and Garretsville was the nearest "town", so I spent quite a bit of time there and have been to every restaurant at least once. I was so sad when the fire happened, I'm really happy to see this happening.

Thing is - this stretch of State Road, through Ukrainian Village has tremendous potential. The stores along State Road are walkable, the housing is well-kept and affordable, and you're less than 15 minutes drive from downtown.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
Agreed - I think it's going to be a penthouse with 15-20 foot ceilings

Cleveland: Retail News
Lol yes, we're going to catch the mods wrath - nonetheless, the entire town center is branded as an "arts district", though, to be frank, there isn't much by way of artisans outside a couple local shops and the center. It's a really walkable town center. However, to come back in the mods good graces, a couple of the smaller artisan there do exist solely because of the arts district designation. I know Gordon Square brands itself as such, as does Waterloo in Colinwood, but I'd love to see an art-oriented retail center open as a branch-off of the Uptown expansion in Cleveland, within walking distance of UC and Little Italy

Cleveland: Ohio City: Church+State (West 29th & Detroit Ave)
I drove past this morning, and I believe they added another floor in the last 48 hours - I think that means two floors remaining. The main tower is already SUBSTANTIAL and creates quite the impact on the view of Ohio City from the shoreway

That spot will add so much to the overall aesthetic of the W. 25th Strip. I can't even imagine what it will look like looking South down 25th from Jay 3 years from now

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
The plans for NuCLEus included a Cleveland Live!, which is owned and operated by the same people that own the experience in St. Louis you're referring to.

Honestly I hope the park includes 25 foot grassy hills, surrounding and enclosing the problem property from the rest of the park.

Cleveland: Retail News
Indianapolis has places like Carmel, where much of my family lives. But I think culturally there's a difference, though, too. Indianapolis' "yuppies" are moving to Carmel and a handful of other suburbs, where walkability is still an option but, to be frank, there's less diversity. I think the trend in Cleveland retail is starkly different from that of Indy.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
Definitiely the type of place where you'd get stabbed after calling someone a "common dandy"
