  1. Does anyone know when Alea in Hingetown is set to open??? When I read the Scene article in October, it said it was going to open in the beginning of November, but I can't find any opening dates, nor does there appear to be an active website / contact info. I may or may not have told my wife I already booked us a reservation for Friday - this loss will sting if they're not open yet lol.
  2. Agreed - I'm happy for the people of Nashville - but cannot help but think many of these buildings belong in suburban industrial parkways, not a CBD

Right right I agree - and thanks for sharing, that's pretty cool! My point is just that it's easy for us to armchair QB things. It's a whole different ballgame applying it. I'm sure your dad was a better coach the day he retired than the day he started, ya know.

To be fair - it is though. It's easy for me to see these things on TV and after the fact, it's quite different when you're "in the sh**" I know more about football than 98% of the American public - but I assure you I could not coach an NFL team or coordinate an offense. It really isn't easy and it takes time to learn and develop. I learned what I did because I was in film rooms with my coaches for 20 hours a week from age 18-22. Having said that, here's my plea to fans: If you don't think Freddie is capable of improving as a coach, then by all means call for his head. If you do, then give him more time. We got a guy that was really green, we all should have expected this realistically. We've never once tried a long term, 4+ year commitment to a coach and look where it's gotten us. We bought stock in a start up, it's not supposed to run as well as GE right now - but if you believe in its potential, hang onto it, don't sell. Having said that, I agree Freddie has been bad at times this year and the team is undisciplined.

Well , I've finally calmed down and I'm sitting in the Philadelphia Airport, so why not... Offense The second half was Freddie's worst half of the year thus far. For Nick Chubb to only get 6 rushes is unacceptable, as is for Kareem Hunt to get zero. Moreover, Odell the Steelers were shading a zone towards Odell about 70-80% of the time This means that even when Odell got man coverage underneath, he would normally be bracketed with zone help in the secondary. This is part of the reason why Jarvis was able to get open so frequently This is really upsetting because you almost never saw Odell come in motion across the formation. Motioning him would: a) reveal if the corner is manned up on him, and b) allow the Browns to use the Steelers pre-snap alignment against them in certain situations - though a coach as good as Tomlin would make adjustments. Nonetheless, as a playcaller, you have to notice a tendency like that, because in effect you know what side of the field will have 6 versus 5 players, and you should be able to scheme accordingly - especially in run plays. I'm not a huge fan of the RPO's as an extension of our run game - Normally, Baker uses RPO's to freeze linebackers and can make throws to the seem or SCIF area of the field When we call RPO's where the pass option is to the flat or a bubble screen, we tend to lose yards more than we gain, at least this week. Additionally, Baker has been freezing himself on RPO's... If he makes the right read, he shouldn't have to be waiting for a receiver to get open - if he does, he should've given the handoff. If we would have aligned Hunt as WR more often, he likely could have benefited from more motion in the offense, as we could have brought him across the formation, manned up by a LB and gotten him the ball in space or eventually turned that into a wheel route. I know Odell is 10th in the league in targets. But he's really not being put in great situations - as I noted above, getting him in motion at the very least allows Baker to gather more information about what defense the Steelers are in, so he can make better decisions about when and how to get him the ball. Defense That was an embarrassing performance. Our tackling was abysmal - even from our most reliable tacklers like Scho and Carrie. Beyond that, we generated almost zero pass rush against Hodges - I know Garret being out didn't help, but come tf on Wilkes The fact that we didn't blitz more says one of two things to me, either: He simply made a bad schematic decision, or He has so little faith in our secondary that he felt the need to drop 6 every play against Duck Hodges. We had almost no effective blitzes from the boundary. Denzel Ward got worked by Washington on 2-3 occasions. That's inexcusable.
  6. Agreed - I'm not sure if its some weird safety issue in re: to the hospital, but it doesn't make sense as is. And, as you point out, it's really not very pedestrian / bike friendly either.
  7. "Public Transportation not readily available" HA!!!!! https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Detroit+Av+%26+w+49th+St/Iglesia+Del+Salvador,+4801+Franklin+Blvd,+Cleveland,+OH+44102/@41.4854411,-81.7229385,661m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x8830f0468c125b51:0xd3f536b69198de8f!2m2!1d-81.72087!2d41.486466!1m5!1m1!1s0x8830f04710ce1481:0x6984d63555b97b9c!2m2!1d-81.72022!2d41.4843606!3e2 https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Lorain+Av+%26+w+50th+St/Iglesia+Del+Salvador,+4801+Franklin+Blvd,+Cleveland,+OH+44102/@41.4807683,-81.721922,935m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x8830f0397fbb8c41:0x2bf09c03b201d29!2m2!1d-81.721165!2d41.477679!1m5!1m1!1s0x8830f04710ce1481:0x6984d63555b97b9c!2m2!1d-81.72022!2d41.4843606!3e2 TWO BUSLINES WITHIN A HALF MILE. Not to mention the dozens of scooters on Franklin Lol I hate NIMBYs I wish you hadn't shown me this.
  8. Right - he tends to take a holistic look at our district, which I appreciate. Though, the West side of 50th is Zone's district, so his residents may have some things to say about the development too, given its proximity
  9. Overall I think Kerry McCormick has done a good job balancing business and community interest, in my opinion. I hope he sees how ridiculous this complaint - particularly the parking aspect is. Additionally. It's .13 miles to the nearest bus stop from that parcel
  10. I walk my dog past this lot every morning - my home is .12 miles from this proposed development. THERE IS A PERPETUALLY EMPTY PARKING LOT RIGHT ACROSS THE M*****F*****G STREET - On Sundays, during the week's only full-congregation service, there might be 15-18 extra cars in that lot. Additionally, as I said, I live within short walking distance and there is ALWAYS street parking available on my street. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4841613,-81.7200842,3a,75y,116.22h,77.75t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sD8AGfNZHpP59lgzfHYjJAA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 ^This is the parking lot that is used ONCE weekly that they're saying wouldn't be sufficient. Thank God most of these NIMBYs won't have standing in court if this goes through Zoning Appeals, as I'm sure few of them live in close enough proximity.

Similarly - I know a handful of people who are involved in bodybuilding. Of everyone I'd know, I'd say only one doesn't deal with serious depression / self-worth issues.

Lol - I agree. I had to get a Jeep Grand Cherokee after losing a battle with my wife (I was stuck in snow 3x last year in my sedan). I actually like the car - it rides well, but I really just didn't want something that big. I've never looked at a guy with a jacked up pickup and said "there's a dude secure in his own masculinity"

Just came to this thread to post the flex emoji. ?
  14. I just remember literally arguing with Sam Allard from Scene on twitter, since he wanted buses to be re-routed through the Square and I didn't... and the crux of his argument was that cutting off access through the Square was actually a form of systemic racism by lengthening the commute times of predominantly minority riders. I just can't get on board with that: A) I used the bus at the time and it added - at most - 2 1/2 or 3 mins to my commute. and B) Public Square, especially in the summer is one of the few places in Cleveland where you can see families of every racial and ethnic group using and enjoying the space... that's limited greatly by an active roadway, imo.
  15. It also now serves as a swale for drainage too, which will save us millions in sewage repairs
  16. No, my info is all second hand so I could be wrong, and typically @KJP knows more than I do about this stuff. I just know someone who's loosely involved and said they just don't think they can hit date expectations.
  17. I think we’re probably looking at late summer, unfortunately
  18. Great news! I'd still like to see a bit more equity downtown, though
  19. So my wife, parents and I are going to the Notre Dame vs Navy football game in Dublin next year. I'm going to surprise my parents and extend their trip a couple days with a quick (and unbelievably affordable) trip to Brussels. Neither of my parents have ever been to Europe, so I am trying to map out as much as I possibly can before I tell them at Christmas; I've been looking all over the city on Google Maps at restaurants, museums, etc. Nonetheless, I was on Google Street when I encountered this REMARKABLE transformation. I was coming down the alley in a 2014 camera shot onto a main road, included here... https://www.google.com/maps/@50.8497545,4.3508835,3a,75y,177.99h,85.78t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s9HV0M5txqniTE6EpgW0Vwg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Then I continued onto the main road, when it suddenly transformed and the cars disappeared... WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE IMPROVEMENT. https://www.google.com/maps/@50.8497011,4.3509983,3a,75y,187.14h,88.3t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s2wMxTBmUmqMj_4aADdh7cA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 This was a pretty major thoroughfare too, but the street appears to be thriving.

Y'all will get my thoughts soon.... It was one of the best meals I'd ever eaten in my life... Until I found a pubic hair in my dessert...
  22. To the self-loathing Clevelanders here trying to still offer conjecture that they're going to move.... SHW is staying soo..... ?
  23. No christmas tress, so I'd assume no
  24. In re: cultural centers. No one would be moving... Rather a collaborative addition involving several Cleveland cultural and educational institutions can have a presence / voice.
