  1. Not to mention Cuyahoga County and Lost Nation both within 30 mins.

Thanks man. Now that my playing days are done, this is a nice little outlet lol

It's not though. Baker has over a dozen starts under his belt and two NFL pre-seasons. It's not unreasonable to ask him to make post-snap reads. If he wants to be a franchise QB, he needs to progress at a more rapid rate than Winston, Tannehill, and even Trubisky. Otherwise he'll never realize his potential and never learn to throw over a D-Line that is usually 4-6" taller than him

Alright folks... I like to consider myself the resident jock/bro/douche/biff amongst those of you more intellectually capable than myself... so here's my summary of last night... Offense - QB: Baker struggled. Point blank, period. The pass to OBJ was actually a run-pass-option, and the moment the weakside linebacker vacated on a blitz, Odell was money all day. Great read by Baker there, but that same play is used in high school schemes. Here's what I'm more concerned about: Baker was prepared for the game, as Gregg Williams loves to play man, and that's what Baker was prepared for. However, the Jets played a TON of zone yesterday and Baker was unable to adjust. In particular, you'd see Adams line up showing man and bail at the snap, which few safeties in the league can do - nonetheless BAKER NEEDS TO MAKE POST-SNAP reads as well as he does pre-snap. The good news is, that will come with time, and most teams won't want to risk a big play to OBJ, Landry, Callaway, et al as the season progresses and thereby won't be willing to shift so drastically post-snap. Accuracy-wise Baker was on his back foot a lot. Freddie had a REALLY nice play call in the 2nd quarter, with Landry running a flat route with a curl overtop - a staple "3 beater" route. Sure enough, the Jets came out in Cover 3, and Landry was in stride in the flat, with about 20 yards of green in front of him and Baker just sailed it. I'd love to see him start nailing the short and intermediate routes next week. - WR: Honestly, not great. I know OBJ had a great game on paper, but the group as a whole did not block well, at all. This is particularly problematic when 20% of our office is designed tunnel and bubble screens to get OBJ and Landry the ball in space. This will improve though, our WR's are a physical group, and I think this was a momentary lapse over a trend. - RB: Nick Chubb is great. Not much to say other than that. Kid works hard and finds any seam. I'd like to see us go to more zone runs than man, however, as I think Nick really does well when he's given latitude to find creases. OL: Actually, not bad at all. As noted above, we compensate for our athletic deficiency when we go to zone schemes. Bitonio might be the best guard in football at getting front-side scoop blocks, working the 1/2 technique and working his way to the playside linebacker. Greg Robinson had some excellent pass sets against a wide 9 technique OLB. Our man blocking needs to improve, but being a realist, I'm not sure we have the dudes to go hat on hat in a man scheme. Zone running should be our focus. Defense LB: Kirksey and Schobert were all over the field. These two guys are personal favorites of mine. In terms of pure athletic ability, they're both probably in the bottom 20% of the NFL, but my God are they instinctive and aggressive, which more than compensates. Kirksey clearly has been devoting himself to film, as Gase called an EXCELLENT screen in the first quarter, and Kirksey - who was the only member of the D not fooled - made the TFL DL: a GREAT performance. Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon are special - though I wish we could see more of Genard Avery as a wide 9 technique. Here's the thing, I'm totally fine with the occasional offsides penalty from Myles, but he needs to cool with the roughing the passers. Even though I didn't agree with the first call - he will get a reputation and will begin to be officiated with a microscope. Dominant nonetheless. DB: Not going to give a grade here. Cannot give a grade if you know the students have the answers before the test lol. And our special teams played well, too. All around a positive game... but we still need to reduce the penalties, and Baker needs to work on his post-snap reads this week, because the Rams are the real f**** deal
  6. Beyond that - in person attendance is on the decline for sporting events generally. I agree with you, an intimate stadium of 20-25k is it.
  7. Yeah, it is though, my source is about as good as it gets on this matter... and they're saying Cleveland would really have to drop the ball in concert with another city knocking it out of the park. Talked to them again last night, and SW would be particularly concerned about operations falling behind due to a potential exodus of employees if the HQ moves - not to mention the cost of training.
  8. Yeah our local media is failing us. I’ve received over a half dozen texts asking me why SHW is leaving, with links from local channels....
  9. Agreed 100% my grandparents are under the impression that it’s going to destroy the market for some reason... but ay... whatever
  10. So I've heard through the grape vine that the development wanted the Lululemon, Apple, Shinola, etc. sort of retail - if that's true I think that's terrific
  11. Yeah I really think other Ohio metros are pretty much non-starters. But I've been wrong before. If SHW jumps ship it's going to a boomtown, imo.
  12. Well guys: Just talked to someone I trust - in order for SW to leave downtown, let alone NEO, the following two things would both have to happen: 1. Cleveland would have to refuse to provide a reasonable tax incentive - at least inasmuch as it would offset the costs of relocating operations. 2. (In sum, 30,000 foot view) A competing city would have to foot the bill for relocation costs to where the incentives would offset the costs associated with the logistics in under 5 years.
  13. Hopefully the new owner doesn't take to Facebook to call the locals "liberal, white c****" again.
  14. It's the same reason Browns fans were booing in the first quarter of the first game of the season. A lot of Clevelanders - particularly the ones that haven't shared in the city's success, are addicted to self pity. Depressing will always drive clicks over happy
  15. FWIW I don't think Dustin Fox would say any of that
  16. Yeah strategically I don't think it would be smart to say "we're for sure staying" without an incentives package locked in. Nonetheless, a move away from NEO would be dang near fatal to our local economy
  17. Nonetheless - that phrase alone was enough to make me poop a little.
  18. No - it's open - hopefully in perpetuity. Obviously I love development but this one will be hard for me. I remember sitting on those barstools with my grandpa and uncle when I was 4 or 5 years old. We'd take a trip down there from Parma just for the hot dogs. Secondly, anyone notice the spelling error in the development at 41st and Lorain? "Fourty One"
  19. IF THEY TEAR DOWN THE HOT DOG INN, WE RIOT, FUELED BY 3 FOR $5 CHILI DOGS

Stepping out of my bubble and reading Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent.
  21. That would almost definitely be an anti-trust headache neither company wants - in legal circles, there was talk of the Valspar purchase bringing anti-trust heat on SHW
