  1. Ignatius continues to remind us why it's a top notch institution in all respects. Moreover, as Welsh Academy grows, it will become a very viable schooling option for people like my wife and myself that would like to stay in Ohio City and raise a family, but likely will move to the suburbs for better schooling options.
  2. When I was in law school there in 2017 I was told that 8,000 students live within a quarter mile of campus. I know the goal is at least 20,000 in and around campus ASAP.
  3. Since the West side of the street is the official border to Matt Zone's district, I figured this is the correct thread. Nonetheless, the discount car dealer at 50th and Detroit has gotten rid of about 50-60% of its inventory in the last couple days, and I haven't seen a person present on sight in months - could something be happening with this parcel?
  4. I've always wanted to go find a vacant acre of forest in Southeast Ohio and just adverse possession the crap out of it until its mine.

Just as an update / thank you: I shared the story of my friend Cam with you all a little over a month ago. This morning, he packed his car in Texas and began 21 hour journey to Cleveland. I want to thank everyone for the ideas, positive thoughts, friendly suggestions, and otherwise. UrbanOhio is a special place, and in particular, one member of this board came forward and provided financial assistance that will allow Cam to make the move here. That person's character and generosity honestly changed a life, maybe even saved one. Things look like they've turned around for him. He has an interview, met a nice girl at my wedding, and thanks to one of you, has a few months rent under his belt to get a fresh start. Thank you all again, it's extremely appreciated.

Idk how he doesn't get credit for the 5 games served last season.

No LB's could cover me - no good LB's exist. lol Just kidding... but in all seriousness, this depends. Kirksey can't guard TE's in the open field. You're spot on @KJP, but good DC's mask this. If Garrett or Vernon line up at a wide 9 technique, they can get a chip on the TE -or- if we do man up, Kirksey can get better at his press off the line, as jamming a TE from a 3 pt stance makes it damn near impossible to get your spacing at the end of the route as a TE. These obviously don't address him in the open field, but it's ways to mitigate that and allow him to be on the field more, since he brings so much value elsewhere.
  9. Early view of Public Square as it appeared in 1857. The first fountain in Cleveland had been installed in the center of the Square the year before. Looking east on Superior Avenue at Public Square. Forest City House is located on corner, right center.
  10. Man, what? Can you please explain this, because maybe I'm reading this incorrectly and this is all for naught.... but seeing this for the first time has me HEATED.

Flashbacks to my childhood - *Mom scolds me* *I listen for 15 minutes then back to my nefarious dealings* *Mom scolds me again* *I don't listen* *Mom turns and gives Dad that exact look* *I know my reign as usurper king is coming to an end.

Sure, but he'll be easier to hide on the strong side when in zone, as most dynamic TE routes start in the boundary and then work their way to the field - though we know that's not always the case. He's good as a SCIF defender (seam, curl, flat) - but on the whole, I agree with you - he struggles when manned up. I just think his positives greatly outweigh that, as he's a great, instinctual player.

We run a 4-3, Avery would do perfectly fine at Will and did at several times last year. Kirko and Schobert will actually have a bit of a more awkward set up, imo, with Kirksey probably playing Sam and Schobert having to play Mike at 240 (which I think is generous). I expect to see Schobert line up wider than the 1 technique in most packages. But Kirko and Avery are both very serviceable, with Ray Ray being more of a supplemental Will than anything we need to rely on 50+ snaps a game

Funny thing being, we didn't receive our best signing via FA either

Spoke with my realtor, as I was curious if the parcel has sold - and it has, with plans to be submitted in the near future. Pretty nice for these last remaining blocks in the OC / D-S meshing point. Also, the home next to it has been renovated and rented, which is great as well.

Yeah, Thomas wasn't going to come here because we've already got a very good player at his position... My buddy says there are two teams in the running for Berry - his (NFC North team) and us. Though he said his boss told him both the Redskins and 49ers are sitting back and might still want to pursue him more aggressively.

  20. I think people overly associate "impact on skyline" with verticality. I'd much rather have a dense cityscape than one smattered with tall buildings and surface lots. Secondly, density will necessitate verticality, logically. As this surface lot gets removed, it will make the other lots more valuable and thus more likely to end up as ambitious projects than a parking garage or 12 story mid rise.

Yeah, screw it I'll mention it here, my college roommate and groomsman is a scout for an NFC North team - he insists both teams are attempting to get Eric Berry, which would contradict some earlier reports re: Earl Thomas. Also, this is why you have football people make football decisions - talking to you Joe Banner and Sashi Brown.
  22. ^There is a vacant parcel on my block available for $30k - a couple from Buffalo came by to see it yesterday.
  23. Agreed, their location in Louisville is really cool
