Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Hey everyone, I have a bit of a dilemma. My wife and I do not watch much TV. Aside from sporting events and the occasional show, I could go without TV. However, I must admit that I am ABSOLUTELY hooked on Billions and Game of Thrones, on Showtime and HBO respectively. I currently have a basic package through spectrum, offering like 50 channels or so, HBO and Showtime not included. We pay about $110 a month for this package and internet. Does anyone have a suggestion as an alternative for cable channels? I'd like to watch Game of Thrones and Billions in real time - with the season premier of Billions being this Sunday night. However, neither of us want to pay more than $110/month for a service we seldom use. I'm pretty much illiterate as to what new options are out there and what channels, etc. (though I know we are limited to strictly Spectrum in our location) they provide. My wife has Netflix, but as I said, I'd really like to be able to watch the shows in real time. Thanks!

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I shared that skepticism with an employee of Stark over the weekend. Direct quote (from memory) lol: "This version cut our costs nearly in half. I honestly think we had an ambitious goal as an anchoring technique for financing, and now that it's secured it seems much more manageable to everyone. Expect this to begin in earnest before the end of the year."

I was hoping we'd see that as part of the reduction - doesn't look that way though. That's honestly my only gripe with this revised version, I think it looks great.

As someone that lives very close to there, I can also say I have had some scary run-ins on Franklin. The issue, imo, is not from the speed limit - I think 35 is appropriate for Franklin. The issue is often with people turning onto Franklin. At times, pulling onto Franklin from my street leaves me with some significant blind spots due to parked cars on the street. There have been 2-3 times when I pulled up to get a look around a car, and before I know it, a car (going at a reasonable speed) was already approaching me from the other way. I'd ideally like to see 1-2 parking spots reduced close to intersections, just to provide for a more expansive view and avoid people peeling out onto Franklin to avoid potential collisions

Fearing the threat of German U Boats, Submarine chasers were built in Rocky River, in the area directly opposite what is now the reservation, during the course of World War II. Pretty cool, I never knew that

^It would be interesting if one of the larger tech companies would agree to become a proprietary sponsor of the incubator. It could function in the same way many hedge funds operate under the umbrella of the bulge bracket banks.

I'd respectfully disagree - though in some instances I'm sure you're right. JobsOhio just got nearly $20 mill in credits for a large company in NEO committed to increasing jobs in the region over the next 3 years.

A key difference between this and medical mart is the candid business ambition of this project, in fairness. Medical Mart was a bit of an aloof concept - this is a little better put together. But I hear you

Cleveland Browns Discussion
As of this morning, Browns +1200 to win the AFC. Worth noting that there are only 4 teams in the AFC with better odds than that

Has anyone been to the Keybanc Capital Markets trading floor downtown? I'm just curious as to what it looks like / how big it is

Cleveland: Retail News
Like I said, unverified and speculative, just figured I'd share. . But the lady I heard it from works for a commercial realty company downtown and would, at the very least, know better than I.

Cleveland: Retail News
Coincidentally enough, I hear a - yet to be verified - rumor that the short list of tenants for the Euclid Grand include: Apple, Swarovski, Lululemon, and Saks Off Fifth. I will try to confirm that with someone I know, so don't yet rely on that information - but a fun little speculation nugget nonetheless. In my opinion, if you land at least 2 of those, that changes the whole dynamic for Geiger's sustainability and the future of retail down that strip of Euclid.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I know this is a catch 22, but if RTA wants to expand ridership, it needs to expand access. I personally have two friends who bought homes in West Park for the sole purpose of being able to take the rapid into work. If there was a rapid or light rail that ran down Detroit, I think people would be 2-3x more likely to ride it than they are the bus. Maybe I'm wrong - you all are significantly more well versed than I am re: public transit.

Governor Mike DeWine
I witnessed firsthand Dewine hustle the Ohio GOP into thinking he would be cut from the Trump/Cruz/Paul mold - it was glorious. I think he's a bit too "cronied in", but I think he'll be a good governor.
