While we're on the topic of masculinity being under attack, allow me to have a brief airing of grievances as to the devolution of the modern male - 1. Irish and Scotch whiskey were distilled to be enjoyed with a splash of water or, at most, a few cubes of ice. How dare you all start mucking it up with your ginger ale and what not! 2. Callouses are okay - if you go to the gym, please do not wear gloves that make it look like your amateur biker gang is taking a road trip to Sturgis in order to cope with a collective mid-life crisis. Or, if you do wear gloves, at least make sure they match your purse. 3. If you eat your steak anything warmer than medium, please just order a salad. 4. You don't have to flush during a fart mid bowel movement in a public restroom. We all know why you're sitting on the toilet, we've been there, nobody cares, let it out man. 5. Chill with the motivational quotes - it's never your successful friends posting the motivational quotes. Hope this brings some humor to the topic haha, no offense intended.
  2. I'm usually a guy that says built it as tall as you can.... But I think buildings at that height do more honor to the architectural heritage of the neighborhood and than a 15-20 story building would - just my opinion. Also, I love the renderings, wow.

I do think it's used the way @X describes it in the everyday use of the phrase

FTFY to remove any threat of ancillary issues with my overall point...

I'd agree, most people don't think that way. Here's my issue... these people in the "extreme minority" hold positions of power and wield sizable influence at places like HuffPost, Salon, et al.... and the same reason I oppose Charlie Kirk spewing opinionated, post-factual BS is the same reason I oppose many of these feminists doing the same. Then, let's say someone gets on here and posts an article from Salon about how waffles are inherently sexist and a remnant of an antiquated patriarchal system. Then one person makes a "but actually..." comment that renders at least an appearance of tacit support for the author's intention in writing the article, and all of a sudden we're in an argument over the implications of a waffle on human sexuality.
  7. i just have to do a screen grab I guess, everything I try to link gets embedded as a map of earth... VERSUS

Yeah I'm with Brutus here, I don't think he ever said or implied that...

Bingo. And @DEPACincy here's a couple instances of it: 1. Law school, Spring 2016 - I held the door for a group of young women coming into the building from Euclid and was told "We don't need your help opening the door. Just so you know, this is outmoded and designed to make women subordinate." 2. Two months ago, November 2018 - I told one of my players on my basketball team that it's important to distinguish between being injured or feeling hurt. Being injured, I explained, should always be dealt with seriously, including a trip to the doctor and probably other medical attention, including rest and recovery. Being hurt, I went on to say, is something all athletes deal with - from soreness, to fatigue, to bruising, etc. and that it's important to teach yourself how to overcome those factors, as toughness will help him get to new goals he had set that would be unattainable without some pain and heartache. A week later, an email from a mother circulated stating that I had been attempting to assert my idea of manliness onto her son and that he didn't need affirmation from a male figure anyways. My point was, in order for him to reach his potential, as an athlete, professional, student, and person, was going to require working through uncomfortable conditions and situations.

I'll be honest, at the risk of being attacked for it. I do think that masculinity is unfairly attacked quite often - and I think certain masculine qualities have a lot to offer the world and can serve to be a good role model for kids. Nonetheless, if you see an ad that is trying to prevent sexual harassment of women and say "They're killing my manhood!" You've got a warped sense of what it means to be masculine.

^Yeah, I usually get upset when political correctness promotes a certain, isolated part of an ideology or even intentionally excludes one group of people for the promotion of another... But even then, I don't call for a boycott, I just go, "Oh, that's kind of stupid." I'm not sure what is politically charged about a message to treat others with respect...
  15. Sorry guys, for some reason my google maps embedded here as an earth level view...

So I heard about the ad... and I was expecting some over the top Politically Correct BS, to be honest - which really does bug me from time to time... But I watched it and was genuinely confused how anyone could be offended. It quite literally promoted what I was raised to believe a gentleman was and should do: "Don't pick on those weaker than you, don't cat call women, and don't put your hands on other people." If you were offended by it it's because you have a guilty conscience and thought the ad targeted you.

That's no where near happening, though. Look at Serie A and La Liga's biggest clubs. Most of them carry CRIPPLING debt that would not be kosher for most English and German sides that would join the league.
  18. Is it true that One Cleveland Center is at capacity? I heard that at lunch the other day and that blows my mind.
  19. Sitto's is NEXT LEVEL good. The one on Ridge in Parma is insane.
  20. One of my favorite before and after shots I've ever obtained from Google Maps... wow
  21. I had a poor experience at Trentina, but I'm in a very VERY select few who have - most I know loved it. Having said that, I have heard that Sawyer's restaurants are highly leveraged, so I hope this isn't a sign of more closures.
  22. @viscomi I’ve been to both! My Grandpa and I actually went on a hot dog tour of Cleveland one day when I was like 13-14. We tried a chili dog at Steve’s, Old Fashioned, and the West Side Market and declared Old Fashioned the undisputed champions! Though I was sad to see Steve’s go as well. I’ve literally been in Old Fashioned when someone tried to rob it, just kept my head down and kept shoving my face
  23. I have a friend of mine who was working with a $250k budget for a home and looked in Ohio City for a year, and got beat on several homes by cash offers. He bought a 1,500 sq foot home in OB for $180ish.
  24. Well that intersection is extremely walkable from most streets and has great bones to host a vibrant neighborhood CBD
  25. Holy crap. Just did a walk through of the neighborhood with my Grandpa, who grew up on Bucyrus off of Pearl. We walked around the intersection of Pearl and Broadview. My God, this neighborhood has improved VASTLY in just twelve months. And I spoke to someone who said home sales in the neighborhood have recently spiked dramatically as well.
