Cleveland Browns Discussion
Nope, but we would need some losses next week and then the Titants/Colts game Week 17 to end in a tie....

I work upstairs, there was another restaurant operating in there today, but I didn't have time to stop down and learn more. I'll keep everyone posted.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Friend works for the Browns - yesterday was an anomaly with the gates. One was closed due to a perceived security threat. That's why the lines were longer than usual. I haven't missed a home game this year, yesterday was the most full its been. Browns are still selling 97.2% of every available ticket for home games... convincing people to come is the issue. If the Browns beat the Broncos, FirstEnergy will be a 2002 sort of atmosphere for Hue's return.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I think nuCLEus has missed its window... at least as a development with any significant apartment presence, especially with the new information re: the Hippodrome lot

So wait... you're telling me just the Euclid side of that parcel has a larger SqFt footprint than the Beacon? @KJP

Lol, y'all need to stop. Notre Dame is in. Etch it in cement.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Notre Dame has punched their ticket. Period. Clemson will be dependent on a victory in the ACC title game. I know Alabama looks unbeatable at the moment, but let's assume something crazy happens and Georgia wins. If that's the case, I think we see two SEC teams in the playoff - that makes SEC (2) Independent (1) and one spot left for the Big12, Pac12, and Big10. This would be a wild scenario. I think it's going to come down to style points between OU and OSU though. Look for both of these teams to run it up if they get a comfortable lead this week.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
The West Loop neighborhood in Chicago has had some excellent success with that model @Pugu My cousin's building has 300 units, started as 100 condos / 200 apartments, with the developer maintaining the HOA seats (1 vote for every 2 rental units vs. 1 vote per unit in owner-occupied). The Developer has gradually released units to the HOA to sell as it recoups its money back, and the development (built in 2010) now is closer to 175 condos to 125 apartments.

Expect greater height than the Beacon in the renderings. Everything I've researched on this developer says they're in this for a home run, not a base hit.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The Edison worries me. I have several friends who've lived in there - the building literally shakes when a train goes by or when a door is slammed too quickly. I get the feeling the construction won't last the test of time

Cleveland: Historic Photos
1). Hey @KJP, looks like you're old man.... just kidding. 2) Was the Franklin Rd. Hill not in existence back then? I can't spot it in the pic. 3) Anyone know what the sign on top of the building on the Southwest corner of 25th and Lorain said?

Also, they have started a build up of some sizeable earth moving equipment on Dexter near the 29th/Clinton intersection. Any word on that...

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
^Unless someone has numbers that contradict my opinion... the foot traffic on Euclid between 9th and 12th is NOT low. There is an almost constant flow of people - especially in the summer.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
I think this is pertinent to the topic. In order to compete, the retail at JHB will either have to be national (a mini Target type store) or unique. People living in the urban core will go out of their way to support local business, but that business has to provide something that's unique. I hope they think outside of the box here.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
I worked for my Grandpa’s concrete company for 7 summers through high school and college as a laborer @KJP. They will likely just add calcium to the mixture, which makes the concrete less dependent on temperature and sunlight to cure, and accelerates the process. Ideally, it’s best to pour without calcium, because it’s more cost effective and cures on its own, but the end product is ultimately the same.
