  1. ^Following what eastvillagedon[/member] said, they may be interested in digging a small portion of the area, too. Could be cool!
  2. Most of the building now is a parking garage.

If we're 1-2 after week 3, go ahead and repost. Until then, I respectfully request for you to take this poo poo outta here. GOOD VIBES ONLY! NO COLLUSION, EXCEPT BY BEN AND THE CROOKED STEELERS
  4. And if they're not... and jut out in front of the 3,500 lbs steel box going 35 mph?
  5. Yeah, my car loses fuel efficiency at a stop too - I don't want to add to my carbon footprint, so I'm going to just roll through the light. Don't see what the big deal is tbh
  6. Maybe enlist a local artist for a mural!
  7. ^ viscomi[/member] I'm a little confused by what you'd like to see changed. Just the visibility down Gehring?

Could be a great, walkable community
  9. ^I currently park in there. Wow
  10. Parma could very easily have business districts that look like this... the bones are there. But they're still plagued by crony politics - in a very 1970s nostalgic sort of way https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0662926,-87.8780574,3a,75y,355.05h,90.39t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sOpF9klg-itjHSCfHP9TYEg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@43.0601076,-87.8853756,3a,75y,100.23h,89.83t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sDECHFAe4v-AkMc20zpsVlw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  11. I 1000000% agree. Ridge/Snow and State/Snow could be great "downtown intersections". With different planning Ridge could be something special north of Parma Circle and State north of Grantwood. Even the Parma side of Brookpark has potential. Yet a "no vision" mentality is why Parma has had a steady slow bleed of population starting in the early 70s. For example, I still can't get over the stupidity that led to downfall of the Parma Theater. It's replacement is a basically a suburban CVS. Mind you a storefront CVS failed about 500 feet up Ridge from the current location in the 2000s. No vision. And a Rite Aid at Ridge and Snow just went under in May, 8 years after it was built, replacing a structure from the 1930s
  12. I was waiting for my bus this morning and saw 7 cars make a right turn from a stop sign without stopping. While on the bus I see many drivers checking their Twitter feeds or whatever they're doing on their phones. That's terrible. Not sure what it has to do with bikers failing to obey traffic laws though.
  13. I'll say this... I'm a BIG bike lane advocate. I bike to work 3x a week and total probably 50 miles a week on the bike. I'd love to see them on every main and semi-main in Cuyahoga County. However, I get FURIOUS when I'm in traffic and I see a fellow biker blow a red light when no one is coming or fail to obey traffic laws and courtesies. I honestly wouldn't be opposed to a bike registration system. I think the same accountability we give to drivers should be applied to bikers.
  14. Just did my first ride down Superior to Mallorca for lunch. Literally had someone call me an MF'er for being on the sidewalk.
  15. This video is 3 years old but my God do they make great points re: stadiums and arenas.
  16. 1935. Civil War veteran shares his stories with some youngsters along Euclid Ave. This is especially powerful to me.

Where did you hear that? From the horse's mouth. Yesterday at camp a fan asked him if he was going to make him play the whole game again (because he dropped 3 balls in a row in individual drills) and Haley went: "No, no, definitely not. You like that though? *Mouths and whispers while pointing to chest* 'My idea'"

We'll see A LOT of 22 and 13 personnel in the red zone this year.

The penalty to Callaway was Todd Haley's idea.

Went to training camp yesterday. Really made me miss playing in a way a Browns training camp has never done before. A couple observations: 1. We are DEEP at WR even without Josh Gordon. Higgins is having a terrific camp and is a very solid route runner and quicker than I expected out of breaks. 2. We will run the ball - with Devalve coming back and the addition of Darren Fells to the team, don't be surprised to see a lot of 12, 22, and 13 personnel on the field at times. Fells is a terrific blocker at the second level, which can be such a luxury. 3. We have an EXCEPTIONAL linebacking core. I'd argue one of the 5 best in the NFL. Collins, Schobert, Kirksey, Kendricks are ANIMALS, and Genard Avery, our fifth round pick out of Memphis is an absolute dude. He is a natural talent in the field/zone/dog and boundary/zone/dog packages. 4. Bitonio is a monster. He's doing an exceptional job replacing a first-ballot hall of famer. 5. Todd Haley is a difference maker. I know we're all skeptical of Hue, but he was Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and de facto Quarterbacks coach last season - he may look entirely different wearing just one hat. 6. Denzel Ward is going to be a standout. 7. We were still penalized too much, but we improved drastically from Game 1, and that's the type of disciplinary progress we didn't see last year. However, I think our secondary will still be a bit of a question mark. I don't think we'll be able to play a lot of Cover 1 or Cover 0 against 11 personnel, and against Flacco and Big Ben, playing a lot of zone isn't ideal. Nonetheless, I think as Clevelanders, we're going to have to reluctantly accept the fact that we're going to have a competent and competitive football team this year.

  22. I agree with this. This summer I've been at some of the newer venues around town and it feels like I'm not in Cleveland, or at least how Cleveland was and is in some parts outside of these newer developments. I'd say by and large the neighborhoods that have been declining for 40 years or more are still declining. The upside with today is that even though those areas are still declining there are quite a few neighborhoods that are on the come up where we didn't have that before. That should be viewed as a positive and no one is discounting the amount of work that still needs to be done. I think you can stop every now and then and appreciate how far this place has come especially in the last ten years. Good point. Since I purchased my home about a month ago, two others have went into contract on my street before they even got listed
  23. I agree we need more cops murdering people for non-capital offenses. Pulling into an intersection on a green light is murder. okurrrrr. Idk, sounded like you were advocating intentionally striking people with a police vehicle. Although your later comment suggests the doors wouldn’t be open so all good I guess. My comment was intentionally impeding their way when they ran a red, which they were doing. I don't want these guys to be met with capital punishment for essentially an enhanced traffic offense.
  24. I agree we need more cops murdering people for non-capital offenses. Pulling into an intersection on a green light is murder. okurrrrr. To flip it around, last year when I was stuck on the Main Ave bridge behind them, one of them was doing a wheelie and flipped his bike over on top of himself. If I had run the kid over accidentally, guess who would be getting sued by his parents--even though he should have never been on a freeway in front of me. That's my biggest problem with these kids--they are putting themselves in positions of serious liability, but accept no responsibility. You want to do it? Get the bikes licensed. Wear a helmet. Buy insurance. They are doing none of this. Bingo, I'm not suggesting we go around swinging our driver doors at them while they're in opposing traffic, but their very existence in that state of reckless behavior puts everyone at risk. Unfortunately, the only way it stops is substantial prosecution or serious injury. I'd rather see a weighty prosecution, obviously, as due process is a better answer than tragedy.
  25. Agreed. They do not belong in an urban setting. Their use and operation needs to be completely banned from all public and private properties in the City of Cleveland except when stored and used only at licensed off-road tracks in the city. They should be forfeited when those terms are violated and when seen in plain sight by police or by search warrant based on information. Playing devil's advocate here, I wonder if any of these guys rely on these bikes to get to work. That could throw a small wrench into a flat out ban in the city limits.
