Graffiti is very much prevalent over in Europe, but it's rapidly cleaned up it seems. When I did some traveling over there, I was amazed at the _lack of_ graffiti, but the guide told us that the owners have penalties for not cleaning up marred surfaces. I don't know how true that is, but it would explain the lack of graffiti over there. I think owners should be responsible for cleaning up graffiti if it is on their property. The city and volunteer groups can only do so much. If property owners take pride in (or are forced to maintain) the appearances of their property, the city as a whole benefits.

Marble Cliff + bonus shots: Downtown Upper Arlington (Columbus)
Of course they're off because of all the hard freezes in early November south of US 30. Not. I've always wondered if there is an actual cliff in Marble Cliff. I mean... it's Columbus. I believe the area used to be a quarry, from which the stones for the State House were procured... I could be completely wrong though. I always enjoyed that little neighborhood :) Those autumn colors are looking BEAUTIFUL.

Yeah, I don't think OSU is looking past any games this year after what happened with Florida in the Championship. This team is on a mission.

Yay! This thread has been needed for quite a while. Good work KJP! My suggestion would be to add a neighborhood listing, with maybe a short description about each.

I don't think he was trying to recreate Venice, per se, but he was inspired by it.

I just spoke to Abbot, and his response was "When's the last time X master planned a community, eh?!" Don't shoot the messenger.

Venice - Los Angeles
Welcome to Venice, an eclectic neighborhood of Los Angeles, South of Santa Monica and North of Marina Del Rey. Venice was designed by Abbott Kinney to resemble it's namesake in Italy. Enjoy!
