  1. Agreed, why couldn't they do more underground parking garages and find something better for the surface level?

Your powers of levitation are put to good use here!
  3. Indy's downtown mall is beautiful and it will be a damn shame if it goes the way of City Center. Suburban malls built with no consideration for how they detriment cities urban cores piss me off...
  4. http://www.laalmanac.com/LA/lamap2.htm ^Find the neighborhood called Sawtelle on that map, and that's where I live!
  5. NOTL's best feature is its view of Cincy... IMHO.
  6. My fiance's Father live in Silverton so I'm sure we'll be back on a regular basis :) Plus I still have lot of friends in Columbus and Cleveland to visit...
  7. LOL, we split the driving 50/50. I did try to have her drive in the cities though so I could take pictures :)
  8. I know where you're coming from, every city has it's pros and cons and will appeal to different individuals. Glad you enjoyed the pics! Thanks all for the nice comments!
  9. The Gulf of Mexico is a sub-set of the Atlantic, so you're both right! The drive was over the course of 6 days, and took approximately 8 hours driving a day.
  10. CALIFORNIA!!! :-D Death Valley = Hot as Hell Support the Troops! Arriving at long last at my new apartment! 2600 miles from my old place, in my new hometown, LOS ANGELES! :-D Nice new building going up next to us. Condos... Expensive... Public transportation will get us the rest of the way to the ocean. Finally made it to the Pacific! I LOVE this building. I finish the trip with a proper West Coast sunset. Thanks for following my journey cross country! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
  11. Las Vegas. Gotta love the Venetian... outdoor seating, indoors! Fremont St. Hot hot desert beyond Vegas. Next up... the final leg! California!
  12. A different side to Arizona... Oak Creek Canyon Sedona Hoover Dam! Next up... Las Vegas.
  13. New Mexico time! Albuquerque, a town amidst the desert. Off to Arizona... a continuation of the desert. Sorry for the bugs... The painted desert. Petrified wood. Desert sunset.
  14. Off to Oklahoma, which happens to be a fairly pleasant place. What's with this Will Rogers fellow? Fabulous Tulsa, OK! Great pizza in the Cherry St historic district. Oil baron's former home. Another oil baron's former home. Look at that mighty river!!! The one and only OKC! Oklahoma City bombing memorial. Conservatory. My fiance. Out of OKC near Texas, and what's that in the distance?? Field of windmills! Up next... NEW MEXICO
  15. So long Indianapolis, hello St. Louis, the gateway to the West! Laclede's Landing is just North of the arch I love trains by the way... and St. Louis apparently has a nice system we got to use Time to ascend the arch... Now time for some free beer. Next up, Oklahoma!
  16. Our jouney cross-country begins in what's been my home for the last 14 years, Columbus OHIO! Our old apartment. First stop, Indianapolis! This city blew my expectations out of the water... Circle Centre Mall, very nice indeed. These weird signs are around downtown and the figure sways its hips all day. Love the architecture in this building, the picture doesn't do it justice. A lovely spot for dinner in the Broad Ripple neighborhood. Next to come, St. Louis!
  17. I could see OSU v USC in the title game. Michigan loses next week in Columbus....
  18. Fan-frickin-tastic Ink! I loved reading this thread.

    Will this ever end?
  21. I love Columbus, but there is NOTHING about it that will draw out of state visitors in any significant numbers except for conventions. I feel spending money trying to draw visitors isn't good economic policy. The money would be better spent making Columbus a better place to LIVE... ie: fix the public transportation, improve downtown (especially City Center), clean up Weinland Park, fix the 70/71 split, etc... I feel the long-run returns on investments in the liveability of the city will be greater than money spent trying to induce tourism.

That's hilarious, I actually never thought about that. In LA we have "The La Brea Tar Pits". Which translates to "The The Tar Pits Tar Pits".
