Well at least this guy doesn't propogate the stereotype that Republicans are ignorant... Oh wait...

Nice pics... so when is the Dayton meet???
  3. The sentiment is directed more at the teams which play in the stadiums rather than the stadiums themselves. The stadiums are both beautiful.
  4. RiverViewer hit the nail on the head. The phrase actually came to mind because of a Steelers billboard I saw on the way downtown. Thanks for all the nice comments! We did indeed have a great time.
  5. Good job, a beautiful day for pictures!
  6. Come on now... what's wrong with those pipes??? Friggin waste of money... we need that money for more asphalt in the suburbs!
  7. I'm with MGD on this one. Lay some brick down on the streets, and only allow traffic at peak time.
  8. I took myself a little trip to Pittsburgh with the ol' fiance... and just so happened to bring along the digi camera. Got one comment to preface this thread... Pittsburgh = UNDERRATED. I started our tour by just getting to the point... Next a stroll up the Allegheny River The Toast of Pittsburgh Duquesne Incline in the distance COSI? PNC Park, definately NOT the Toast of Pittsburgh And we emerge from the river to see this beauty Where to next, Corinna? My fiance snaps a shot before we head to... THE STRIP (Think Shorth North, but not as short) An ode to Superstar Mark in the Strip After all this time in the Strip one needs to converse with God But that's no church!!! Time for some downtown action... so long Strip NYC what? My attempt at artsy Phallic... indeed Chicago what? LA what? Red Rover Red Rover I call ColDayMan over! Market Square, tis no Public Square! My new love affair... PPG!!!!!!! Bow to it's splendor... mere mortals... Now off to Station Square... but first, one must cross an important bridge to Cincinnatians! Newport on the... I mean Station Square. And now a break, to give an ode to KJP Enough of that, time get a new perspective And with that, Corinna and I bid you adieu Thanks for caring!!! :-D
  9. Well if Public Square is going to be a pedestrian place, something will have to be done about the traffic. Open it up at rush hour and close it off at other times. People are not going to want to hang out amidst a torrent of cars.
  10. The traffic in Market Square is limited to one lane North/South and one lane East/West... and it is brick paved. Open to traffic, yes, friendly to traffic... not quite. Sweet public space... most definately! ^One of four quadrants.
  11. I was just in Pittsburgh and if Cleveland wants to see what could be done to improve Public Square they should look at Market Square. It's a great urban space... lots of restaurants, cafes, trees, cobblestone, AND it's open to traffic.
  12. I haven't heard any buzz on this project in quite some time. Anyone know the status of Phase One?
  13. ^ Indeed, and owned by The Dispatch.
  14. It's time for some development, Columbus style! More updates to come...
  15. Indeed, it is just West of Victorian Village, hence Harrison WEST! :drunk:
  16. Current status... Bonus Harrison West pics for you loyal Columbus thread followers!!! More updates to come!!! :-D

Chinatown?! I must have seen a different Chinatown in Cleveland than what you saw... I'll take Little Italy! Gotta represent the East side.
  18. I say Ohio should worry about what Ohio can control, and just forget about the defunkt Amtrak which get no support from the government. We need a high speed rail system to connect the three C's, and the three C's need light rail to connect the high speed rail to hot spots in the city. Forget this whole, "it loses money argument." The damn interstates don't make a whole lotta money either. I do believe it is crucial though to have adequate transportation at the destinations so you aren't stranded when you get off the high speed. Whenever Amtrak gets its act together it can connect with the Ohio system. Do it for the environment. Do it to kick oil dependence. Do it for the convenience. Just frickin do it!
  19. Walked by this yesterday and they have a lot of the earthwork completed. There are trenches in the ground they have started to put steel rods into the trenches (sorry I don't know technical terms!). I'll try to take some photos soon!
  20. I walked down Perry yesterday, which is the street with the purple trees in this picture. All the houses are for the most part built on the side of the street that bows outward. They look VERY nice and match up with the neighborhood well. I'll try to take some photos soon!
  21. lol, Canton has San Francisco beat pretty nicely... These stats are weird.
  22. Looks like a beautiful neighborhood, captured in great photos :-)
