Columbus: Downtown: Franklin County Government Center Projects
What don't you like about it? Keep in mind, governmental buildings today usually have to be built with a certain degree of architectural restraint so as not to draw criticism of being a wasteful expenditure of public funds.

msp: minneapolis at night
One of the things I love about the Midwest are those warm dark bars you can crawl into on a freezing cold night and enjoy some high carb food and great beer. I would love to visit Minneapolis myself sometime but I have no family or friend connections there at all.

msp: metro transit
Nice to see rail transit being embraced more and more throughout the USA. Also, those commuter trains look so unbelievably clean and new... you could eat off the roof of one of those!

Coming to Cincinnati from Germany for three months
Maybe check Craigslist.com and see if anyone is looking for a short-term roommate?

Washington, DC: Undercover Stream of Consciousness
Finished strong with The Postal Service... very nice!

Columbus: Historic Photos
LOL, my Columbus geography is getting a little hazy as time goes by. You're correct Kingfish.
-
Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
For sure. The amount going on as a whole right now in DT Columbus is pretty amazing considering how little happened in the decade plus I lived in Columbus.

Southern Orchards, Columbus
You're playing in some fun parts of town!

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Damn those are cheap rents for downtown living!
-
Columbus: Historic Photos
I think you're wrong on this one. That looks like the Atlas Building on the right hand side, which would indicate this photo was taken looking south from in front of the statehouse.

Columbus: Historic Photos
An UrbanOhio ancestor's photos! I agree with Rob... don't see much street level urban photography from that era. Really fascinating stuff! On a side note, the amount of quality historic architecture that's been torn down in Columbus is downright criminal.

Ganther's Place, Columbus
Nice to see what can happen when people take pride in their surroundings.

Vassor Village, Columbus
Yet another part of Columbus I had never heard of in my decade+ living there. Thanks for sharing!

Grand and Historic Ohio Public High Schools
Great idea for a thread Ink. I never attended a historic school as I went through the Hilliard system which is all fairly new. LOVE East High School in Columbus architecturally... but I definately wouldn't want to attend classes there!

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
^ This is pretty common these days. See it happening all over LA.

Is UrbanOhio addicting?
Wonder what ever happened to the poster Summit Street who photographed all the Ohio courthouses? I liken this site to my morning coffee.

NOLA (Part 4): Central Business District
Very enjoyable, thanks Ink!

North Linden, Columbus
It's unfair to discount Columbus as just having a couple nice neighborhoods. Do you realize how big of a chunk of the city German Village, Grandview Heights, Victorian Village, Marble Cliff, Bexley, Harrison West, Italian Village, Short North, Old Town East, etc occupy? For a city its size, I've never seen a city with as many intact, safe, historic neighborhoods.

Austin, TX
Doesn't look too bad! I'd love to visit Texas sometime and see some of these cities in person.

Chilling in Cincinnati and Columbus
Never would have imagined this photo thread would inspire this conversation!

Chilling in Cincinnati and Columbus
Yeah, 25 and windy is not good at all. When I visited it was in the high 30's low 40's most of the time with calm winds. Excellent photography weather!

Columbus: Downtown: RiverSouth Developments and News
Saw this in person last week and was impressed... Columbus is really making some progress filling the holes downtown.

Jackson, Mississippi
Not a frequentally photographed city... thanks for sharing!
