Looking good! Those beaches don't look quite as inviting as their Chicago counterparts.

Wow, I've never seen that part of Columbus before. Definately loving all the fall colors!
  3. Looks like you got see some of the more natural areas of SF I didn't get around to... were those from the Marin Headlands and Twin Peaks? Thanks for sharing!

My alma mater! She's just getting better with age :)

    Fixed!
  6. Awesome. This photo is really cool because it shows a dense urban walkable environment, but the auto age is starting to make its mark (ie: parking lots, SOHIO sign, gas station, etc...) The two seemed to live harmoniously for a small period of time.

You wouldn't even go to the Wharf for a Boudin clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl?! Delish!
  8. Wow, interesting seeing those demo shots. I'm happy thinking about the future possibilities for this site, but sad thinking a building from my childhood is gone.

Something tells me MTS is going to have something to say about this comment...
  10. Those subway stations always bring back memories from my childhood... they're quite unique. Thanks for the DC photos!

The cable cars are seldom used by locals... locals mainly stick to the Muni busses and light right, as well as BART for commuting. I was extremely impressed by the bus system in SF... busses came by every 5 to 10 minutes, stations all over the place, very clean, etc...

Do I think it's possible? Yes... but it would be extremely difficult. The water is cold, sure, but the undercurrents are brutal around there as well.

  19. David, The thing about Columbus is that there's no way you would get the E-W rail line along broad until you demonstrate to the taxpayers that a rail line can be successful in Columbus. The only place I can see a line being successful right out of the box is N-S along High St. Once that line is in place and thriving, you can execute phase two to link the city E-W.
  20. I lived in Columbus for over a decade, and I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that it will take a monumental cultural shift in that town for people to start seeing busses as real transportation options. Columbus lacks synergy between all it's developed inner-city areas and in my opinion, some form of rail would do wonders for connecting these areas and pushing the development further.
  21. All Columbus needs after this park is complete is some form of transportation to link all the neighborhoods together along High Street... I wonder what could achieve that? ;)
  22. The Washington Monument is hands down the most phallic monument in the US. Looks like you had a nice walk!

LOL, capoeira is cool to watch, but definately not the most effective fighting style IRL.

One of my favorite cities... such a fantastic place to spend a day walking around. I would love to get back there sometime...
