  1. I can confirm there is nary a shovel in the ground. I take issue with TMUD funds going to a Phase 2 of a project that hasn't [physically] commenced Phase 1...
  2. Curious how they're... disconnecting Dublin-Granville Road and Kitzmiller? Ganton Rd will meet at the intersection with Kitzmiller but those now won't connect to the south or west... Unless that's what that little jog is for now? A strange concept. Seems like they could've just done an interesting round-a-bout with five roads instead.
  3. Has... anything happened on "Phase 1"? Interesting that it says so yet I can't see I've seen any movement out there since I was there a month or two ago.
  4. Are they not planning an underpass either? I assumed that's what they would do, like the one they added under RIverside at John Shields.
  5. Work continues on the Biomed & Materials Engineering building (Watts Hall replacement/MacQuigg Lab renovation) at Ohio State. Autumn 2025 opening still listed.
  6. Yea I don't understand the "base" of the building -- having a different style for the podium doesn't work well with maintaining the historic storefronts below -- they should pick one or the other. There is definitely WAY too much going on with the facade treatments. Honestly that dark green fenestration above the old "Garden" facade is maybe the most interesting bit -- they should just continue that for the entirety of the facade of the new build, imho.
  7. I'm also wondering exactly how this works with the view out of the stadium, too? Looks like they should maybe be cutting the corner of that parcel to maintain the view to downtown otherwise...
  8. I'm hoping that Short North Kroger eventually takes the urban Chicago model and re-builds a bigger store with intergrated parking above
  9. Downtown commission should make it a hard and fast rule to NOT allow any new surface parking in downtown EVER again...
  10. Welcoming the largest ever freshman class and... OSU is out of residence hall space again: https://www.10tv.com/article/news/local/ohio-state-university-freshman-class-size-off-campus-housing/530-80082098-af3e-4db5-8270-50309c0951e8 They're paying to house some students in "The Point on Lane" and operating it like a Residence Hall: https://housing.osu.edu/resources/second-year-success/the-point-on-lane/ Time for the next phase of new residence halls on South Campus per Framework 3.0 (which, ironically, a major goal is to de-densify residence halls, even though they're already back to cramming more kids in rooms than ever...)
  11. So I will say the buildings they did keep are those with the most in-tact historic architecture: It would be nice if they kept/re-constructed the facade of 183-189 Rich St (the old Spoonful Records location) as that one also has some merit: Definitely silly to demo that corner building (although it is ugly) without a really compelling pocket park/entry to the new tower PLUS an activation of that new blank wall of the existing heritage building -- punch some windows or throw on a mural in photoshop, come on people!
  12. Excellent progress towards a double-sided urban street wall on Lane between High and the river
  13. This is great, a new park in there would be a great catalyst. But hopefully Spring St would be turned into 2-way first -- that would really help to bring nicer pedestrian traffic between the new residential in the area. A whole string of parks to CSCC would make the area feel a lot like the Pearl District in Portland
