  1. I've said it before, but now it's really apparent how dramatic the cantilevered ballroom is going to be over the entry court -- and it's not even at half of its final width.
  2. So now we have a better idea of what parcels they were able to get and the kind of agreements that were made in land swap to build roads, etc. Happy for undergrounding power lines, relocating traffic lights, etc. Surface parking lots can always be redeveloped. And additional street connections will help this area feel less isolated.
  3. The Starling-Loving wings are starting to come down!
  4. A random commenter on the CU article says they've broken ground on the hotel -- can anyone confirm?
  5. Abbott is preemptively trying to fight the residents that would move into that complex and *then* complain about Abbott. Though it's just like the hundreds of apartments that have gone up adjacent to the railroad tracks across the city -- you can either deal with it or you choose not to live there. It's called a city.
  6. I want to know what's planned for the little building along the Olentangy -- talk about a great space for a little bar! It's lifted so high off the river that they could do whatever kayak launch facilities underneath and
  7. If every suburban office park did this it would almost make up for the amount of extra resources they take up for being located in the suburbs 😆
  8. Have we heard any updates on this? Did it ever make it to a planning agenda?
  9. You can see the footprint of the co-op living clearly in the 05/13 drone shot (this is before the elevator core started coming out of the ground)
  10. We've got updated 360 drone imagery, too from 05-13 https://8impact.com/360/thepeninsula/
  11. And all alley-loaded garages 👏 What's the total number of proposed units?
  12. True for cars, but I know the buses have a hard time staying in their lane there.
  13. https://buildingthefuture.osu.edu/news/2021/06/01/slideshow-arts-district Updates on the OSU Arts District buildings. Steel going up at the Department of Theatre. Music building continues masonry work and interior work. You can see also the new, much narrower College Ave as they install new curbs, etc. They're revising how the bus drop-offs in this area work and giving more space and streamlined circulation back to the pedestrian realm. I'm curious if the work at the oval-end will include a re-aligning of the road to smooth that sharp curve?
  14. As promised we're about to see the eastern-most wing of Starling Loving coming down this month -- mostly interior preparations have been occurring thus far but June is when we'll be able to watch the action. The masonry work is also starting on the new anatomy wing of Hamilton. I'm curious to see how much of the shell they finish as there will be a bridge portion on the upper floors that connect it to the next new building.
  15. I think this one is by far the most unique. I like the reference to the adjacent RR bridge. Nice opportunities for planting and shade as well. Make is scarlet & gray and I'm sold 😂
  16. Anyone have any updates on this? Their website is live, but haven't seen anything about the building since... December '20
  17. In other OSU news, scrolling through their Master Planning agenda for tomorrow, the university is looking to acquire 11th Avenue so they can convert it to 2-way and move traffic off of 12th Ave (I don't know if they're meaning to completely pedestrianize 12th or just greatly reduce traffic load). Bus routes, etc. would move to 11th as part of their larger transportation master plan. OSU also owns the entirety of parcels that face 11th and are looking at the larger future of this area.
  18. JK repaving first. Still no WOSU marquee yet, either. Hopefully we'll see some street trees on the north side of the street when they get to that new building.
  19. I mean, in true LC fashion they need to somehow draw out the construction into infinity...
  20. WOSU is nearly done and, as I predicted, 14th is back open to through traffic!
  21. I do hope that they'll salvage the blue brick. I was disappointed not to see a nod to it in the new development, but they could certainly use it for something...
  22. Thanks everyone! Guess I haven't been paying very close attention. The future is here!
