  1. Today the Cincinnati Parks Foundation is hosting one of their largest fundraising events of the year. I assume that is what the tent is for. http://cincinnatiparksfoundation.org/events/hats-off-luncheon/
  2. Gaslight has already owned those houses, so I would assume they would be included in any plan.
  3. We had a ULI Technical Assistance Panel held last spring in Clifton with a focus on this property (before any developers got involved). Here is a link to their findings for this property. It mostly looks at massing, which I have a feeling will be too dense for Clifton residents, but we shall see what Gaslight comes up with. http://www.cliftoncommunity.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Final-ULI-Clifton-Merchant-Lot-TAP-Jan-9-20171.pdf

  5. I will second the importance of these institutions in our city. I too would not find Cincinnati as livable without the Symphony, Ballet, Opera, and Museums. It adds to the rich culture of this city. I was at the art museum this weekend as well, and I don’t think they could have fit many more people in the galleries, especially those that wanted to see the Van Gogh exhibit (there was a two hour wait, at times, to see the show). Thousands and Thousands In addition, this weekend our symphony is hosting one of the premier symphonic music festivals in the United States. The MusicNOW festival will bring in younger audiences and always is a great concert. If you head to the Taft this weekend you will see some of the greatest new composers in the world and hear music that no one has heard before, since most have been written in the past year or so (some are a few years old but making U.S. or Cincinnati premiers. Our orchestra is on the cutting edge of symphonic music, and I for one am proud of its place among the great orchestras of America.
  6. The selection was not based on renderings of the new Lindner COB, it was based on their previous body of work. I bet we won't see anything for another 6 months or so, maybe more. I expect this to be a top-notch design.
  7. $15M U Square hotel breaks ground Developers broke ground Tuesday on a $15 million Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel at U Square @ the Loop. http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/06/10/15m-u-square-hotel-breaks-ground.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bizj_cincinnati+%28Business+Courier+of+Cincinnati%29
  8. Here is some info on the business unit. Looks like it will be 1 of the 5 new global shared service centers. Finance and IT are mentioned in the article. <update> and now the enquirer http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2014/04/09/ge-project-bring-jobs/7518947/ http://www.streetinsider.com/Press+Releases/GE+New+Shared+Services+Center+Bringing+1,400+Jobs+To+Greater+Cincinnati/9370087.html

I will throw another vote for the Jolly Pumpkin which is on S. Main. I was in Ann Arbor about a year ago (for a little over a week) and it was my favorite bar/restaurant in the city. Great staff, locally sourced food and beer made in house.
  10. Good news... http://www.daytondailynews.com/dayton-ohio-jobs/jobs-news/midwest-leading-nation-in-economic-recovery-1320963.html
  11. There are actually 2 Holy Grail Locations... one on the West Side and one in Corryville. My guess is that they will be opening another location.
  12. a little new info. also, Rumor has it that the Hertlein Farm which sits at the back of the property is not selling anymore. It was the last piece of land that the city did not own on that side of the highway. This could put a kink in the development plan. It also sounds like this "plan" is not really what they are following, they are instead just putting in whatever comes to them. There are talks of a MAJOR distribution hub going in here for a very large corporation. Also the new middle school is going to be built in the south-east corner of the property. Just some updates.
  13. ^ of course i hope it doesn't shut down... but, it could also become condos or apartments... What a beautiful building.
  14. that's the latest date i have heard. Jeff Ruby apparently only does soft openings... so it will not be a big shindig, it will just kind of "open". It sounds like thursday is still the date though.
  15. Bootsy's will be open on Thursday, not the previously mentioned Tuesday... I'm probably going to check it out this weekend. It looks amazing.
